Gongchan sighed as ~~~ got up from the table and ran outside. Although his forehead did hurt from the knock in the head he received from ~~~ earlier, it didn’t hurt as much as his feelings. He got up from the table and decided to go outside, a place he always went when he had some thinking to do.

Outside Setting

SCHOOL – OUTSIDE

Why doesn’t she ever take me seriously? She has no clue how many years I have had this crush on her! *UGH*…this so much. I decided to take a seat on the bench. One thing I don’t like about her is how she always thinks we’re “not equal”. In junior high she tried to leave me so many times because she thought she was a burden to me…she never thought about how her trying to leave hurts me. I thought back to the day I first fell in love with her…

Grade School Uniform

GRADE SCHOOL – AFTER SCHOOL

She didn’t know me yet. I was a shy boy…and all I did was follow behind her after school. And no I’m not a stalker, it was because I worried about her. Many of the other kids made fun of her, because she was nerdy and shy. They might bully her after school. What attracted me to her was the fact that she was so innocent, forgiving and genuine, whatever she did it was with a happy expression. She only thought about making others happy, it made me want to make her happy.

As I followed her afterschool I saw the good deeds she did everyday. As she walked home she would visit the Grandma down the street and help her with her groceries.

“Grandma!!!” she shouted happily as she ran down the street. She accidentally fell and I almost ran out to go help her…but I was too shy…besides she would find out that I was following her. However, instead of crying she stood up and brushed the dirt off her knees and with a happy face went to greet the Grandma. She helped her with the groceries and helped the Grandma clean up her house before leaving.

As she walked down the road, there were many scraps of garbage everywhere. Instead of complaining about it, she would pick them up and throw them into the garbage can.

When she reached home she would greet her parents happily and claim that she had a great day at school and made lots of friends. How Seonhwa was so nice to her, how Donghyun always treated her to his snacks. When she said that, I had a sad smile on my face, knowing she wanted to make her parents happy…but how could she talk about her bullies as if they were the nicest people in the world?

The next day during recess, I saw the kids circle around her. I wanted to help her but I was scared…scared of what they would think of me…scared of what she would think of me. But at the end, I did help her, and became her guardian angel since then. She didn’t know that I wasn’t always the person I am today…I used to shy away and avoid things even though I wanted to do what was right. But seeing her do good deeds and show her true self to the world made me want to do same…she is the reason who I am today…even though she’ll never know. She always thinks it’s me being her guardian angel, but in reality, she was the angel that helped me show the world who I am today.

END OF FLASHBACK

 I sighed and decided to go back into the classroom; ~~~ was probably waiting for me.
