FLASHBACK

GRADE SCHOOL - RECESS

The nerdy girl was sitting under a tree reading her book. She wanted to go play with the other students but no one wanted to play with her. Then she saw a couple of students coming toward her. She felt a little excited, what if they were coming to ask her to play with them?

“Oh my goodness, don’t you think that girl is so ugly?” one of the students whispered to the others loud enough for her to hear, his name Donghyun.

“Yeah! She’s so weird, she only reads books!” another laughed, her name Seonhwa.

“She’s such a nerd!” the last one snickered.

Soon they were so loud that all the students in her class came over. They began to circle around her and . All the nerdy girl could do was cry. But she suddenly heard a loud voice cry out.

“HEY! You guys better stop it now!”

The nerdy girl looked up and saw a handsome boy standing in front of her with his arms wide out protecting her from the others.

“Why look who it is…goody boy Gongchan” said Donghyun, the boy who started teasing the nerdy girl first snickered. Gongchan ignored him and took the nerdy girl’s hand, pulling her away from the group.

“Not so fast Gongchan!” Donghyun screamed. He pushed Gongchan and punched him in the face.

“That’s it!” Gongchan yelled. He kept the nerdy girl behind him and began to punch Donghyun. Soon the teacher’s came and put a stop to the fight. After the boys solved the conflict with the teacher’s and got bandaged up, Gongchan went out to find the nerdy girl who was sitting on the swings.

“Hi ~~~!” he shouted happily standing in front of her. The nerdy girl didn’t respond but kept looking down.

“Is something wrong?” he asked quietly. He crouched down and looked at her closely and saw that tears were falling from her face.

“Why are you crying?!” He asked worriedly.

“Y-you shouldn’t be my friend…no one likes me. They will just not like you too!” the nerdy girl cried.

“Don’t be silly! I want to be your friend!” Gongchan smiled. “Here eat this! “The lollipop will make you happy! Whenever I’m sad or happy I eat one!” Gongchan said.

Gongchan unwrapped the lollipop and gave it to her. The nerdy girl looked up and took the grape-flavoured lollipop from Gongchan.

“R-really?” the girl asked.

“Yup! I promise I’ll give you lollipops all the time!” he said giving her a bright eye smile.

The nerdy girl looked up and smiled back. He wiped her tears away while she began to eat the lollipop. She looked up and saw the cuts on his face, slowly touching one on his cheekbone under his eye. He slightly winced.

“Does your boo-boo hurt a lot?” she asked worriedly.

“Of course not!” he smiled brightly but she could tell that he was hurting even when he smiled. She got off the swing and tippy-toed, giving him a kiss on the boo-boo.

END OF FLASHBACK

I opened it and began to eat it happily. I decided to go and try to find Gongchan so I went outside to look for him.
