He isn’t worth it. I repeated Seulong’s words in my mind.

Choi Minho isn’t worth it.

It was a long while before my tears dried and I got out of bed. When I came downstairs at around lunch-time, I saw Seung Hyun watching the TV.

“Are you alright?” He asked straight away. I rolled my eyes. “So I guess Seulong oppa blabbed.”

Seeing his flustered face, I sat down at the kitchen table and put my head down. The wood felt cool and smooth against my cheek.

I grabbed a tub of vanilla ice-cream and sat next to Seung Hyun on the couch. I ate the ice-cream slowly, but I couldn’t taste a thing. The sweetness of the ice-cream did nothing to cure the bitterness I felt in my heart.

I put down the tub of half-finished ice-cream with a soft thud. “Oppa…why am I unwanted?”

“Anniyo, Yoong. Everybody wants you. It’s just that that idiot doesn’t know how to appreciate you.” Seung Hyun stared into my eyes and ruffled my hair. I pouted.  Jinjja?

“Who wants me? Other than my family.”

“My mom, my dad and Minho wants you too. He’s just too proud to acknowledge the truth.” I opened my mouth to reply him when he continued.

“And most of all, there’s always a boy who will always stand behind you and support you all the way. No matter what happens.” I could feel his eyes soften when the words came out of his mouth.

“You know why? Because he loves you.” My eyes widened as I stared at him. I could guess…

“Who is it?” The words flew right out of my mouth before I could even think.

“Me,” The words were so soft that they were barely audible.

Never did I realise that my best friend had feelings for me all along.

Before I could react, he leaned in.

To place his lips on mine.
