Life in Seoul, Korea

Description

A year after college, you struggled to find what to do with your life.  You already had your degree in hand, a major in Interior Design and a stable job in that career, but all you've ever wanted was to travel around the globe.  Like any typical day, you went on an evening jog after a long day at work.  You checked the mail just in case your parents had not checked this morning.  Inside you noticed a large package that was address to you, without a return address.  Walking towards the door, you held the package in hand, examining every inch of the cardboard box.  Curious as to what was inside, you quickly open the package as you enter the front door and notice a familiar logo that you had often seen before.  Reading the contents of the letter, you're eyes got wider and wider realizing a great opportunity before you.

Foreword

"Hurry up over there!"  *clash* *bam*

"Ya!" "That doesn't go there!"

"_______-ssi, where does this go?"

"That should go in the center of the stage for Yunho to perform his dance showcase on."

"_______-ah, here's some water."  You grabbed the water and took a sip reminiscing on how you came to be here.  It felt like yesterday when you had received a letter from SMEntertainment.  You had applied on a whim for a job at SMEntertainment as they were looking for someone to work as a staff for set design.  The agency had looked upon your resume and the many design projects you have worked on.  They believed you had the skill and capabilities that they were looking for.  In the package was a one way plane ticket to Seoul as well as an itinerary for an interview and staff meeting.  At first you were skeptical of whether this was really happening.  You had emailed the agency to make sure this package and information was correct.  A week later, you had the confirmation and were at the airport saying goodbye to your parents and close friends.

*CCCRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!* The sound broke through your daydream and flashed you back to reality.  An unpleasant sound rang through the stadium.  Afraid to turn around, you close your eyes and slightly twist your neck around.  You slowly open one eye lid to peek at what the cause of the noise was, hoping the problem was minor compared to the sound. Peeking, you see the main glass panel on the stage in pieces on the ground.  You're worst nightmare had come to about, as the mirror was the most important part of the stage.  The purpose of the mirror was for Yunho to dance and have an alter ego display upon that mirror in an ultimate dance battle, showing that his only enemy in this world is himself.  Now with the mirror into tiny pieces, you had to quickly find another option.

You grab the microphone and asked around the stage to see if any injuries had occurred from the accident.  Many came up and apologized, but you had no time to finger the blame to anyone.  You dial every number possible in Seoul to see if a custom mirror could be delivered in the next few hours; otherwise you would have to use something other than a mirror.  Luckily, the last number you dialed had a mirror in stock that was similar to what you had envisioned and since the company had often worked with you on other design projects, they did you a huge favor and said the mirror can be wrapped and delivered in 3 hours.

Workers had come on the stage to sweep up every last piece shard of glass.  By then Yunho and Changmin had arrived at the stadium to practice the night before their concert.  Yunho was about to go on stage first to practice, noticing you grab Yunho by the jacket to stop him.  "Oppa, you can't go up yet!"  He looks at you with a suspicious look, then gave a big smile. " _______-ah I didn't notice you were there."

"Haha..very funny.." "They are cleaning off glass shards on the stage so wait around a bit before the stage is fully checked and cleared.  Even in heels, Yunho felt like a giant to you.  It didn't help that you were already short to begin with, but standing next to him, you felt inferior. Yunho put his hand on your head and rubbed his hand back and forth, messing up your hair.  "Oppa, stop it!" you whined.

"Okay..." Giving off his unique laugh.  He rested his elbow on top of your shoulder while waiting for the crew to finish up cleaning. Pouting, you always wondered how Yunho and you had ever become so close in these few months that you've been at the agency.  When you had first arrived at the agency, everything was new to you as well as trying to speak Korean.  Although you were able to read hangul and understand Korean, replying back to someone in Korean was a challenge.  As a staff worker was giving you a tour of the agency and the office where you would be working at, you accidently bumped into Yunho along the way.  You quickly said sorry, but Yunho came up to you staring down, looking as if he was in a bad mood.  He quickly yelled saying that you should pay attention to where you were going and to respect the seniors in the agency.  You could see that he was already in a bad mood, but that didn't mean he could yell at you in front of all the staff and make a scene.  You were always raised to stand up for yourself, no matter the circumstance.

You lifted your head, with eye to eye contact; you yelled saying that it was both of their faults and that he shouldn't be yelling in front of everyone and blaming you for what happened.  Staring straight back in anger, you didn't back down.  Yunho stared in amazement and apologized even if he didn't understand everything you just said.  Curious, Yunho asked you what your name was.  The staff had realized that the problem was over and explained who you were and what you were doing here.  Yunho was suprised and said that you should design their stage performances and their music videos sometime.  As you smiled, he told you to call him Oppa from now on and that he would think of you as a dongsaeng.  From then on, you both were often called brother and sister in the agency because of how you acted around each other.  Being an only child, Yunho was just like an older brother who you depended on and talked to when problems would arise.

Watching Yunho from the stage now, his charisma on stage has never changed in all these years. Although you were not blood related, you still felt proud seeing your Oppa on stage performing.  The mirror had arrived soon after and practice resumed to perfection.  In the late hours, work finally finishes and you greet all the workers as everyone left the stadium.  As the last one out, you turn off the stadium lights and locked the entrance doors.  "_______-ah, I'll give you a ride back." Turning around, you notice Yunho was still in the parking lot waiting for you.

"Are you sure? You still have to rest for the concert tomorrow."

"It’s okay; I don't want you going home by yourself this late at night." You climb into the front seat as Yunho drives you back to your dorm.

"I can't believe you are really staying here." "Did the agency know you are a Super Junior fan?" Looking up at the high rise, you look at the window that the Super Junior members are currently living in.  Your dorm was on the same floor only further down the hallway.  You never mentioned to the agency that you were a Super Junior fan, but knew you could control yourself around the members.  It was your job to maintain a professional work ethic around the artist in the agency and you planned to keep that promise.

"Have you talked to Donghae-ah yet?" Only Yunho was aware of how you felt about Donghae and how he was your ideal type of guy.  You've never had a boyfriend before, many one-sided relationships, but now was not the time to think about those things.  Yunho could tell you were blushing, and divulged further.

"Should I introduce you two?"

"ANIYO!" You blushed and told him that you were tired and that you were leaving upstairs.  He chuckled and we both said our goodbyes.  Upstairs, you closed the door to your dorm behind you and sat on the couch heaving a sign of relief.  Suddenly, you get a text from your boss stating what your next project was.  You couldn't believe your eyes.  The next project was working on the music video set for Super Junior and you would have a meeting with Leeteuk and Shindong tomorrow morning.  In the few months that you have been here, you avoided any projects that were Super Junior related, but this project was unavoidable.  You took a shower and crawled into bed unable to fall asleep, wondering what you were going to do.
