Chapter 4
Finally, A Happy Ever After
“Woow.” I couldn’t help but gasp at the beauty of the place. Will we really live here? It seems really high class.
“Of course, you guys will only be occupying one of the pads there.”Luhan stated the obvious which broke my reverie as I turned to look at him with “are you serious” look.
Luhan, in return, just shrugged and gave me a goofy grin. But his attention to me was cut off when Sehun, Tao and Suho gathered up to him in one side, seeming to whisper to him. As I watched them, I couldn’t bear to remove my eyes off them for even one minute. They were a sight. If four members of EXO could do this to me, how worse could it be when all of them are present?
“Mei Xin!” Chun Hua called me and I immediately broke out of my reverie once again and looked at Chun Hua. “Wh-what?” I asked, startled.
“What are you waiting for? The guys are already inside.”
“What? Why? How?” I asked dumbly.
“Never mind. Let’s go in before we get lost before we even get in this huge building.”
I obeyed what she told me and soon caught up to the guys. I was a bit silent but I blushed when Chun Hua whispered to me about staring dumbly at the guys earlier.
“Did they notice...?” I worriedly asked.
“No...”
“Good. Please don’t tell them.” I begged my friend.
Chun Hua chuckled. “Don’t worry, I have done my share of staring at them earlier too.”
I frowned at her. “How come I never noticed?”
Chun Hua grinned devilishly. “I'm a pro. No one can notice me staring at them.” She proudly stated. “Besides...” she smirked at me after looking at me in the eye. “You were busy with your lover boy.”
“Who’s lover boy?” Luhan’s voice was heard.
I immediately looked at him with wide eyes—shocked that we can easily be heard. “Nothing.”
Luhan shrugged it off and continued to walk as we entered the elevator door. Wait... when did they strip off to normal clothing? All of them were so wrapped up earlier.
“Aren’t you guys going to be in trouble if we all go together?” I asked curiously.
“No...” Suho shook his head. “This place has tight security.”
I nodded absently.
“Oh...so you guys have been here before?” Chun Hua looked at Suho to answer her question.
“U-umm...”
I looked up to Suho, wondering why he’s stuttering all of a sudden. He looked troubled by something and he hasn’t answered the question of Chun Hua yet.
“They were with me when I reserved a pad.” Luhan stated—saving Suho’s discomfort.
“Y-yeah. We were the ones who helped to pick a room for you guys.” Sehun added.
“Really?!” Chun Hua asked excitedly. “Wow! Thank you!”
I on the other hand, just grinned but excitement was jumping all over the place inside me. I am a fan of EXO and I am very honoured that I am having this great opportunity, but I am torn between this thought and the thought of Luhan knowing about this fact and would take advantage of this someday. Recently, I feel like he is making an effort to annoy me or something. Who knows what next that he might be doing is.
“Chun Hua and Mei Xin-unnie, is this your first time to go to Seoul, Korea?” Tao asked with a childish grin on his face.
I nodded my head as an answer. Chun Hua on the other hand, shook hers with a small smile.
“Really? Are you interested in Kpop?” Sehun’s eyes lit up.
“Very much.” Chun Hua nodded her head a lot of times and looked at me who was just smiling a little. “And she is too.” She pointed at me.
“Oh?” Luhan raised a brow and one side of his lips quirked up. “I never thought you were interested; I thought you were much of a bookworm.”
“Oh indeed she was. But she is busy now with you g-...” Chun Hua stopped her sentence when I hurriedly covered .
“That’s enough~” I chimed.
“Aww come on, unnie. You should tell us more about yourselves.” Tao whined.
“In due time.” I smiled at Tao.
“No, I think it is the right time.” Luhan countered.
“No, it is not.” I gritted my teeth at him—removing my hands from Chun Hua’s mouth.
“It was the right time until you cut your friend off.”
“Well, it was a private matter for me so get over it.”
“Ummm... guys?” I heard Suho say it worriedly.
But I didn’t pay attention to him. I was having a heated argument with Luhan who for some reason is making me tick off every moment.
“Dont worry about them... they are having a lover’s quarrel.” Chun Hua whispered through Suho. I can hear it faintly but I couldn’t back off my bicker with Luhan just yet.
“Did they have a history together?” Tao innocently asked, hearing Chun Hua’s whisper to Suho.
Now this is the question that I could never put aside. “WE DID NOT.” I emphasized every word. Surprisingly, my words were the same as Luhan’s as he couldn’t put aside the said question as well.
Everyone was staring at the both of us—only Sehun was the one who is unaffected with everything.
“We’re here~” He announced.
With that said, everything went back to normal. We left the conversation forgotten and as Sehun opened a door; my eyes couldn’t help but stare at the beauty of the room. I gasped inwardly.
“You like it?” Tao asked with a smile. I knew he already knows my answer and he is very proud that I like the pad.
“I love it.” I told him with a grin.
“I love it, too.” Chun Hua agreed.
“I’m glad you guys like it...” Sehun smiled. I tilted my head at one side. Why do I have a feeling that there is supposed to be a continuation with his sentence..?
“Welp. It is time to unpack...” Chun Hua sighed heavily.
I nodded with a silent sigh. The boys were kind enough to help us unpack some things but they had to go meet with their manager since their manager called on Luhan, if he already arrived, and he had to do some of unpacking for him as well. Before they went off, the guys never forgot to get our numbers. We were so delighted to have exchanged numbers with the 3 of them that we can’t simply get things to finish in our normal speed.
We were so excited with everything that I don’t think we were adults at all.
The days passed by in a daze. Chun Hua and I were busy with shopping all our necessities while EXO were busy with their everyday schedule—they text from now and then to ask how we were doing and with that simple act stirred me and Chun Hua pretty bad. We were their big fans after all. After 3 days from arriving to Seoul, I had to go to work already. I can’t say that Seoul is complicated; it is just that I am so bad with directions that even though my work place and the place that I'm staying in are close according to the others, I still easily get lost. I simply need more time to get used to this place. Once, I got so lost that I ended up near SM Building looking like a lost child. Luhan saw me, it was a good thing that there is not much people yet around and no one noticed us when Luhan grabbed me and hid me somewhere where he was sure that no one would see us. He found out that I was lost from my first day of work and I found out that he sometimes goes earlier than everyone to practice. In the end, he led me to my workplace and it became a unofficial routine of the two of us. I didn’t ask him to always me back and forth; I couldn’t ask my “Mommy” Chun Hua to do that as well, she would kick me out of her room. She never is the morning person in the first place.
Chun Hua on the other hand had plenty of more days until her third year in med school started. She had been staying up very late on the internet as usual like she was in her earlier days. She never was a morning person in the first place. That’s why I could never ask her to go with me early in the morning to my workplace. She can be pretty stingy about her sleep. That’s also why she is so happy these days because she can get as much sleep as she want and takes advantage of it.
Today, on her 5th day back to Seoul, it was very quiet in the pad where Chun Hua and Mei Xin live in. Mei Xin is already working, while Chun Hua is still fast asleep even though everyone outside is already awake. As she slept peacefully inside her room, there are two people going inside the pad with a key in hand.
“Hey, don’t you think something had changed?” A very deep voice asked his companion as they looked around the pad like it was very new to them when they almost frequently go here.
“Hmmm... Maybe Luhan-hyung redecorated...?” the other one guessed.
“...it has a girly feeling...” The former pointed out.
“What? How do you know??”
The guy with the deep voice pointed at a red suitcase. “I don’t know... But hyung definitely doesn’t have that...”
The other guy looked at the direction where the former pointed. “Hmmm...” he hummed in thought.
“...” The deep voiced guy stood silent for a while but couldn’t stay quiet for long. “There is still the girl vibe that I'm feeling.” He fretted; both of his hands are now on his head. “I know!” he exclaimed. “Maybe hyung has a new hobby...?”
“Idiot!” His friend scolded with a knock on the other’s chest—the only part he can reach but it was originally a knock on the other’s forehead. “When hyung finds out about this, you will be in big trouble.” He warned.
The man with the offended chest pouted. “But the girl feels~!”
“Enough of that already. Let’s just eat what we bought for lunch. It’s already late and I am starving.”
“Okay...”
The two guys headed their way to the kitchen to fetch whatever dishes that they can find to place the food that they bought but was shocked once again by what they saw when there are actual plates inside the kitchen—not only that, they see utensils that are so clean that they could even see their reflections on it.
“What the-!!!” The deep voiced male exclaimed very loud that he was sure that the whole pad echoed his voice. He just didn’t know that someone deep inside was sleeping peaceful but now awake from the ruckus that the man made.
Chun Hua’s eyes shot open as she heard a shout. Her eyes widened when she heard even more ruckus so near to where she is that she was sure it was not outside the pad but INSIDE. She began to rise up from bed with her heart beating crazily fast, thinking that there might be some big men that would want to steal all the things that they see—including one girl that is so helpless.
And so, Chun Hua grabbed a pillow for defence as she started to open her bedroom door slowly, peeking if there is someone there in the near distance. She had to blink her eyes a couple of times—adjusting to the scenery. She sighed in relief when she saw nothing but it never stopped her worry. She followed the voices that were becoming closer and closer as she stepped. When she was sure that she was at a very near distance, without seeing who the people are, she attacked them in rage.
“You~! Get out of the pad! You! You thief!!!” She raged as she hit one of the men with closed eyes.
“Aw. Aw. What are you? What are you doing to my hyung’s pad??!?” The deep voiced man was surprised but caught himself as he saw the woman quite a bit frightened even though she was the one attacking them.
“What hyung? This is my pad!!! This is mine and my friend who is a girl!!!” Chun Hua continued to pound the pillow to anyone that the pillow could have hit.
“What? Luhan hyung didn’t tell us that!!” Another guy voiced out as he tried to block the pillow hitting his face.
This is when Chun Hua stopped her pillow fight—hearing the name Luhan being said, she began to calm down.
“Luhan...?” She asked, finally letting her eyes see the two people in front of her. She gasped at what she saw.
“Chanyeol!”She exclaimed, recognizing the very tall man who is right in front of her and is now grasping her in both of her arms. She then turned to the other figure beside Chanyeol and saw D.O. “Ah!! D.O!!!” She exclaimed the other’s name.
“Wha-what?~!” The two men exclaimed, defensive.
“Wh-what are you doing here?!” Chun Hua asked in excitement building up inside her.
“We should be asking that?!” Chanyeol countered.
“What? Why? You guys are the one who are inside this pad that I live in.”
“Eh? This is Luhan’s pad~!”
“Lu-luhan...???”
I finally finished my work for today. Thank God for that. I immediately got all my things to bring home and as I went out of the company building, I saw the very familiar figure of the man that I had long ago adored. He is all wrapped up in bundles of clothing that made his face hidden from everyone’s eyes. I sighed with a hint of resignation as I made my way to my companion.
“Hi.” I greeted.
“Hello.” He greeted back, his mouth barely moving since it was covered with a mask.
“You know...” I started. “As much as I am thankful that you are accompanying me to and fro at work, you don’t have to do all these things for me.”
He stayed quiet as he walked calmly on the streets, not minding if I was getting a bit left behind.
“Xiao Wang Zi!” I called out the name that I am sure that he would recognize. I couldn’t just call him by his real name or else we would get in trouble with all the people passing through.
He stopped and turned his head to look at me. I hurried my steps to be in level with him and continued my so called speech. “It has been a few days already. I am sure that I already am familiar with these streets...”
“Oh really?” He countered. “May I remind you that there is always a time, everyday that you wonder off aimlessly even with me around?” His eyes bore mine with a stern look. “What would happen if I am not here...? Wonder on the streets again like a lost child.”
“I am not a child.” I pouted.
“Then what are you...?”
I was about to answer back when a person greeted us good evening as we go inside the building where my pad is. There was never a time to talk to him with all the people with us and it never is polite to argue in front of the public.
As we stopped by the door, I grabbed my key and used it to open the door. As it opened, I stepped inside and turned back to the boy that I adore but at the same time makes me frustrated. “Thank you, Luhan. Good night.” I then closed the door.
“I’m home~” I announced.
“Wooo~ welcome home~!” a very tall man that very much looked the same like Chanyeol greeted me, running to my direction. “Hello~! You must be Mei Xin!” the Chanyeol look alike greeted with a wide grin like the Chanyeol in EXO.
“Wh-who are you?” I stuttered
“Eh?” The guy tilted his head. “You don’t know me? I'm Park Chanyeol of EXO.”
My eyes widened. “Chanyeol?!” I gasped loudly. “What are you doing here? Where is Chun Hua? Had she seen you yet?”
“Yeah.” Chanyeol grinned. “She is with Kyungsoo right now, helping him prepare dinner.”
“D-dinner?” I repeated the last word. “D.O making dinner? Here? With Chun Hua?!”
“What’s going on??” Luhan barged in the pad, still looking excessively clothed than he was the last minutes I saw him.
“Oh, hi hyung~!” Chanyeol greeted excitedly. “Why are you all bundled up?”
It took Luhan a while to process the words until he began stripping down to normal clothing. “No reason.” He muttered.
“Hyung, hyung.” Chanyeol walked to Luhan and put his arms around the other’s neck. “You didn’t tell me that you are keeping two girls in secret all to yourself.” He teased in a whisper.
“Idiot.” Luhan scolded. “Mei Xin is more on a family friend and Chun Hua is her friend.”
“Oh..” Chanyeol nodded dumbly.
“Oh, welcome back~” Chun Hua greeted as she stepped out from the kitchen.
“I’m back, mommy~” I greeted back.
“Mommy??” The boys repeated in wonder.
I just stared at them and gave a shrug. “It’s a long story. Ne, mom. Why is Chanyeol and D.O here?”
“Oh, no reason~” Chun Hua waved her hand from side to side as if to dismiss something. “I met them in coincidence.”
I frowned at her obvious lie and was about to ask more when she stated. “Anyway, I have to talk to Luhan about this place, okay? You go change to your comfy clothes and get comfortable.”
My mommy Chun Hua is acting a bit strangely. But I let it go because I'm sure that when she is ready she is going to be telling me soon. And so, I did what she told me and got inside the room to change.
Chun Hua watched Mei Xin as she made her way to the room to change. She knows that Mei Xin doesn’t believe her one bit with her obvious lie earlier and also about acting strangely just now, but Mei Xin would have to wait for now.
Chun Hua sighed in relief when Mei Xin is now out of sight and turned her head to look at Luhan who for the first time—looked troubled.
“Luhan.” Chun Hua started, walking towards him.
“...I’m sorry.” Luhan immediately apologized, bowing his head pretty low.
