Chapter 9:

It was lunch time and Min could be seen at her usual table surrounded by her friends. They were having their typical conversations of recent Korean drama episodes and recent comebacks. Gushing over the recent boy groups and how attractive they are. Just as Min was going to comment on how much she enjoyed a newly released song, she felt her phone vibrating. She quickly checked the caller ID before picking up.

Her heart was racing. She quickly turned away from her friends as she answered, “U-Unnie…?”

“Minyoung! It’s Jackie, I’m sorry to call you at this time… since you answered, I’m assuming you’re having lunch now?”

“Ah yes… is something wrong? H-How is AJ?” she questioned.

Little did she know that another set of ears perked up at the mention of AJ’s name. A long hair brunette sitting just behind Min couldn’t help but turn her head slightly in Min’s direction. Not a day has gone by that she couldn’t help but think of how and where AJ had been, especially after the unfortunate night that she had witnessed. Feeling guilty as hell.

“AJ… AJ…”

Min gulped as Jackie was stuttering her names. She bit her lip praying that he wasn’t dead. She didn’t even get the chance to be best friends with him.

“AJ is doing okay,” she finally said.

Min sighed in relief.

“They did a few more tests today, and it seems like AJ is fighting for his life. There was some brain activity. I-I was doing his usual sponge bath when I realize his eyes were moving!”

“R-Really? T-That’s good news,”

“However, we are transferring him to another hospital. We will be taking him to a brain specialist for further examination. If you would like to continue to visit him, we are taking him to SM Memorial Hospital,”

“SM Memorial Hospital? That’s a lot closer to where I live, I will definitely visit him there. Just let me know when you find out his room number okay unnie?” Min couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

“Arasso, please take care of yourself and I will see you later today,”

As Min hung up her phone, the eavesdropper pulled out her phone and looked up the hospital. SM Memorial Hospital was one of Korea’s most prestigious hospitals that always had the most updated equipment. Many celebrities and politicians go there for medical attention. Not only that, but they are always staffed with the very best doctors and specialists ranging from dermatology to neurology. AJ was definitely going to be in good hands.

‘All this time… AJ has been in the hospital…?’ The eavesdropper thought.
