The past few days were a haze of happiness, laughter and the quickening of heartbeat for Jinki. As he lay there listening to Jonghyun talk about one of his fights all he could think was how much he loved him. His mind went back to last night were Jonghyun had woken him up in the night to confess.
"Jinki are you awake?"
"Hmm?"
"You know that night you were talking about how you wanted to be loved and all, it felt like you were telling what was in my heart. All this time I had felt the same." He turned towards Jinki.
"Thank you so much for coming into my life. I never knew what was love until I saw you that night, between the bins."
"Right back at you." And then Jinki held him close to himself and they both fell asleep like that.
Jinki was pulled away from his thoughts by Jonghyun's concerned voice. He saw Jonghyun talking on the phone. As soon as he ended the call Jinki asked,
"What happened?"
"There are missing posters of you around the town."
"Serioisly? My missing posters?"
"Yeah." And Jonghyun showed it to him on his phone.
"Do you know who's phone number is that?" Jonghyun asked.
"It's the store owners. Who would have that the old man would actually put posters for me?" Jinki said laughing.
"It's not a laughing matter anymore. The police are headed this way,"
"What? How did they know I'm here?"
"They don't. It seems they have a hunch because someone had seen me entering your house."
"You went to my house?"
"To talk to your father."
"Oh."
"Minsoo is waiting outside for you. He'll take you to your home. Get dressed and then go to the bookstore."
"You know I could stay here and explain it to the police."
"I can't let you do that. That would be bad for you. If the university finds out you are related to a gangster like me, it would be bad. Your scholarship could get cancelled."
"But-"
"See if others get to know about you, they'll try to use you against me. I don't want anything to happen to you." Jonghyun sighed. "Please go. For me."
"I'll go if it means that much to you." And Jinki hugged Jonghyun and left the place.
At night, Jinki sat alone in his house waiting to hear from Jonghyun. He had sorted everything out. He had told the owner that he had gone for a small vacation and he was back now.
Jinki's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"How do you know my number?"
"I know everything about you Jinki. Things even you might not know about yourself.
"You are such a stalker." Jinki knew Jonghyun was smiling.
"I see you are doing well. I will not be able to meet you for a while. Have to go out of town. I'll call you once everything is right."
"Okay. Take care."
And the call ended.
