The house was a large one. After some searching around, Jinki found the back door. He went outside. Took a deep breath. Inhaling the cold night air. He gave one last look to the house, which housed many unforgettable memories and headed towards the gate.
"Planning to escape, are we?" An all too familiar voice called.
Jinki came to a sudden halt. "How the hell did he know? I was sure he was sleeping."
"I knew something was up today. So I couldnt fall asleep." Jonghyun said, answering to Jinki's thoughts.
Jonghyun was in front of Jinki.
"Now give the gun Jinki, you don't want to hurt anyone."
Jinki threw the gun at Jonghyun. Jonghyun ducked. Jinki dashed towards Jonghyun. He punched Jonghyun in the stomach. Jonghyun was on the floor.
". I underestimated him. That punch is something." Jonghyun got up and called the security guys at the gate.
"He is heading towards the back gate. Catch him."
In no time Jinki was caught. He was brought to the bedroom. He started cursing everything, Jonghyun, his life, his failed plan.
"Let me go."
Jonghyun saw Jinki his head bent, but he could see the tears that fell to the ground.
"Why do you want to go back so much?"
Jonghyun just heard him sob.
"Why do you want to go back to the man who sold you?"
"S-sold me?"
"For a million dollars."
This was the crushing blow for Jinki. His legs gave in. He sat on the floor, pulling his knees to himself.
"What?"
Jonghyun sighed."Your parents turned up here 4 years ago right?"
"How do you know that?"
"Four years ago two men came to us. Took 2 million dollars and ran away. They had told us that their companies had gone bankrupt and needed the money for the education for their daughters. We cross checked all the information they gave us. Everything was true. But one of them hadn't mentioned that he had a son."
Jinki leaned in closer. His face burried in his knees.
"When it was time to give the money none of them had come. We searched for them and supposedly both of them had died in a car accident and their families had moved to the city. Well we aren't that stupid to believe that, how many ever fake graves they make. We searched for them and we finally traced them to this city. We found one of them. The guy you saw that night. He wouldn't budge. Then I saw you there." Jonghyu's voice got warmer. "When we searched for you we found out the other guy was your father. At first I had thought to threaten him by kidnapping you. But I saw what he had done to you. I couldn't and wouldn't let you go back to him. I told him I would forget the loan he had, but he had to give you up. He easily complied. And the next day he, your mother and sister left the town."
"So that day the parents you were talking about was him."
"Yes."
Jinki laughed. He had never expected his father to give him up for money for, but to abandon him, he had never imagined. Soon his laugh turned into sobs. In-between sobs he said,
"So you bought me for a million dollars?"
Jonghyun got up from where be was sitting and went and kneeled in front of him. He pulled him into a hug and said,
"No I bought our lives, our happiness for a million dollars. I can't live without you."
Jinki hugged him back and broke down. "I always thought that was the way he showed love. So I always listened to him. Always tried to be a good boy for him and my mother. I thought if I could bear the pain he might love me. I use to see all the other kids coming with their parents to school. I only wanted to be loved, to be valued."
Jinki could feel that his shoulder was wet. Jonghyun was crying too. He pulled away. "Thank you so much Jonghyun. Thank you. Thank you for freeing me. Thank you for showing me what love is." He wiped his tears. And thank you for crying for me. You are the first one to cry for me." And he gave him a small and gentle kiss.
"You think you can get away with only this much." And Jonghyun pulled him closer and kissed him expressing all his feelings through that kiss.
That night all the pent up emotions of Jinki were released in the form of tears. Then Jonghyun embraced him from behind. His front to Jinki's back. At this Jinki broke down more, and finally cried himself to sleep. And Jonghyun held him like this the whole night.
