“Donghae!” the shrill girl’s voice cried, making Donghae snap out of his peaceful sleep with a start and practically fall out of bed.  He groggily looked around to see who was calling him and then he saw his girlfriend, Jessica’s smiling face hovering over him.  He groaned once he saw who it was and fell back onto the bed, covering his face with the pillow.

“What?” He asked in a muffled, tired voice.

“I need a favor from you” she stated simply, still with that smile on her face.

Donghae took the pillow of his face and he looked at his girlfriend with an exasperated expression.  “How did you even get in here?” He asked, completely ignoring what Jessica just said.

“You gave me a key remember” she reminded, pulling out a set of keys from her purse and dangling them in front of Donghae’s face.

“I did? Well that was a stupid idea.” He muttered the last part quietly to himself, but Jessica still caught it.

“Anyways back to that favor.” She started, acting as if her boyfriend didn’t just insult her.  “I need you to buy me concert tickets.”

Donghae just stared blankly back at Jessica for what seemed like hours.  “You want what?” He asked, finally snapping out of his trance.

“No I don’t want, I need tickets to go see a band that’s playing this weekend.  If you get me these tickets, I will love you forever!” She flashed her boyfriend an innocent beam.

Yeah right Donghae thought while mentally rolling his eyes.  “Which band is it anyway?  Don’t tell me it’s another one of your k-pop groups.” He asked while standing up from the bed and stretching. 

“It’s not just ‘another k-pop group,’ it’s the best, hottest-” Donghae scrunched up his face in disgust when he heard his girlfriend use the word ‘hot’ to describe someone other than him- “most talented group that’s out there today.” Jessica continued. 

She then sauntered over to Donghae’s laptop that was sitting on his desk and after typing a few words, she gestured Donghae over to the screen.  There, on the screen was a picture of 4 guys that didn’t look more than 25 years old, all dressed in tight leather clothing and wearing about a pound of makeup and eyeliner staring back at him. 

“That’s TRIX, aren’t they flawless?” She stared at the screen and let out a dreamy sigh.  “You want to hear what they sound like?” She asked excitedly after admiring the screen for another few minutes.

“Spare me.” Donghae said while opening his beside drawer and pulling out his wallet, making Jessica let out an excited squeal. 

He pulled out $200 knowing from experience how much of a strain on his wallet these concerts were.  “Is this going to be enough?”

“Of course it is! I love you so much Donghae-boo.” Jessica ran to hug her boyfriend, but not before snatching the money out of his hands. 

“Yeah, yeah, now get outta here, I still want to sleep some more.” He said while walking back to his bed and flopping down onto it. 

“Thanks again sweetie!” She smiled at Donghae and making her way to the door, but she stopped in her tracks and turned around again.  “Oh, and by the way you’re coming with me. Ok, bye!” She said before walking out again. 

Donghae could only let out another groan before covering himself with the pillow again.

“Hurry Donghae, we’re going to be late!” Jessica panicked as she pulled her helpless boyfriend through the crowd to get to their seats for the concert. 

Saying Donghae was surprised was an understatement, he was downright shocked when his girlfriend led him to front row seats.  He wondered to himself if he let himself be scammed by his girlfriend yet again. 

“I’m so excited!” Jessica practically squealed out while clapping her hands together in happiness.  Donghae heaved another sigh before pulling out his phone from his pocket to entertain himself while he let Jessica ramble on about how excited she was. 

Before long, the lights dimmed and Donghae’s ears were suddenly assaulted with the loud, shrill sound of about 1,000 girls screaming in excitement, waiting anxiously as they knew the concert had started. He just shook his head and continued tapping away at his phone.

Soon, loud music filled the arena and the spotlight turned to the stage, revealing 4 boys who then proceeded to break out into their first song.  Donghae looked up from his phone at the loud noise and turned his head to see how Jessica was holding up.  She was already screaming her lungs out and was visibly shaking while trying to take as many pictures as she could.  The sight frightened Donghae. 

He then decided to take a once over at the boys who made his girlfriend practically lose her .  Sure enough, there were the same 4 boys Jessica had showed him a few days earlier.  The band consisted of a feminine looking drummer, a well built guitarist, a good looking pianist, and an amazing looking lead singer who was currently dancing around the stage while singing.  Donghae had to double back and look at the lead singer again, he was actually pretty handsome in Donghae’s opinion, and his dancing wasn’t half bad either. 

They continued performing and somehow, Donghae had suddenly developed somewhat of an interest in the band, especially the cute lead singer.  So he watched for a few more songs, amazed at the talent this band had, compared to the other bands his girlfriend had forced him to listen to.  But after a while, he lost interest and turned his attention back to his phone, completely ignoring his now psychotic girlfriend beside him. 

It wasn’t until the band had begun their next song did Donghae look up again.  This song just so happened to be a slow, ballad song, and the drums, guitar, and piano started playing a slow beat.  But, when the lead singer started singing, Donghae couldn’t help but look up again at the beautiful voice. He couldn’t help but stare in pure awe at the lead singer, and then the unexpected happened.  The lead singer suddenly made eye contact with Donghae and momentarily stopped singing altogether.  Donghae didn’t know exactly what to do in this awkward situation, so all he did was stare back.   It wasn’t until the guitarist not-so-subtly elbowed the singer in the gut, did he start singing again, tearing his gaze off of Donghae.  Donghae continued to stare for a few more seconds trying to process what just happened before shaking his head dismissing the thought and turned back to his phone. 

Donghae’s eyes stayed glued to his phone for the rest of the concert, except for the occasional glance up and always somehow managing to catch the lead singer’s eyes again.  He didn’t get it, why was the guy always staring at him when there were about 1,000 other girls to stare at.  He came to the conclusion that it was simply because they were sitting so near the stage and nothing more. 

The concert ended and Donghae was driving his girlfriend back home before going home himself.  Unfortunately, this meant listening to her go on incessantly about how amazing the concert was for 20 whole minutes.

“Ok we’re here.” Donghae announced as he pulled up to Jessica’s house.  Jessica nodded and thanked Donghae once more for the amazing night before getting out of the car, but not before giving Donghae a sweet kiss.  Donghae kissed back, but it seemed lately that he wasn’t really enjoying his girlfriend’s kisses anymore, that there was no love between them anymore, just empty, meaningless actions. 

Donghae had thought about the possibility of ending the relationship many times, but he could just never get himself to actually do it.  He didn’t know what was holding him back exactly.  Was it the fear of breaking Jessica’s heart?  Was it because he would feel lonely if he did so? Or was it because he was just too nice of a person?  Donghae didn’t know, all he knew was that the love between them was no longer there, and he was almost sure Jessica felt the same way.  It was just neither of them was willing to make the first move. 

“By the way, we’re going again tomorrow night, it just so happens they’re going to give an encore performance.” Jessica said after they broke apart.  And with that she got out of the car and waved once more to Donghae before going into her house. 

Donghae could only look at the road ahead of him shaking his head in shock and disbelief.

Like I said in the description, this is my first chaptered fic.
