I gasped at what I saw after I step out of the Byun’s residence. The view just by their front yard is so breathtaking. I haven’t noticed it last night when we went home from the café. My cousin asked Mrs. Byun if I could stay with them for the whole summer. The sweet lady agreed since her children are not with her for the mean time. Her younger son is a trainee to be an idol in Yesung oppa’s current entertainment company while her eldest son is in Switzerland taking a crash course there. She is separated from her husband. I think I was sent to accompany her in these times. Good timing, again.

“The weather’s nice, huh?” Mrs. Byun said as we went inside her van.

“Yes, indeed.” I smiled. I looked at the cloudless sky and felt giddy knowing that I’ll have a good day today.

We went inside the café and saw the others gather in the kitchen.

“Hey manager!” Jiyoon waved at me while smiling amiably. “Good morning,” she greeted both Mrs. Byun and I. The others followed. I greeted them back and went to them. I saw a tall guy amidst them.

I looked at him curiously not knowing who he is. Ilhoon suddenly placed his arms around the guy’s shoulder and said, “Manager, meet our new barista, Lee Sungyeol.”

The new barista. He looks so cool and composed. His smile amazed me because it’s as if it’s telling a story. A story that he has a very exuberant & cheerful life. Though everyone here actually looks like that.

“Hello, Manager,” he smiled then bowed.

“Sungyeollie, this is Manager Jaein.” Bomi, who’s beside me, continued the introduction.

“Hi Sungyeol,” I reached out my hand for a handshake. Kindly enough, he shook it. “It’s nice to meet you.” I smiled at him genuinely.

“I thought you’ll arrive tomorrow?” Jiyoon asked him. I was about to ask that too. Mr. Lee told us last night that he’ll come the day after today.

“Well, I got too excited,” he scratched his head and didn’t remove his permanent gooey smile. Gooey as in gummy. His smiles project him as a very happy and contented guy. I must admit I like his smiles.
