Ch. 8

Connecting the Pieces

So I wrote alot of this late at night, so there might be a few mistakes everywhere and maybe not the best writing, but I did my best! Hope you like it~ Did I mention how much I hate English? Cuz I do, it . OK anyway, read, enjoy, throw a few tables, here ya go.

It may have only been raining slightly, but by the time Fynn and Luke reached his place, they both were completely soaked. The streets they walked down to get to Luke’s place were very dark so it was refreshing to have the lights inside the small apartment sized house? Let’s go with apartment. The dwelling didn’t have much in terms of furniture or décor, but the home gave off a warm feeling none the less.

Upon entering, Fynn removed his shoes instantly and removed his socks as well. He didn’t want to take off his socks truthfully, but his socks were soaked and he didn’t want to drip anymore water on Luke’s floor than he already was now. Fynn didn’t know what to do, should he enter further into the apartment? Should he stand there and wait for Luke to bring a towel or something? Should he sake like a dog to get the water off? He just didn’t know what to do and his brain was starting to panic.

Luckily, Luke solved the problem for him. Luke grabbed Fynn’s hand and led him across the hardwood floor that covered the ground to a room that Fynn was certain was Luke’s room.

The room didn’t stretch that wide, it was more narrow in size with the bed in the far corner on the left side of the room when first entering the room. The plain white walls would have been boring, but Luke covered much of the wall space with different posters or cut out magazine articles and pictures. Fynn’s eyes were particularly drawn to the large collage of various photos ever so placed carefully over the wall above Luke’s bed. How many nights did Luke spen making the enormous collage? Fynn wondered. What was he thinking about when he made it? What made him think to create such a thing? What kinds of photos did he look through before choosing those specific ones? What did he think about while lying on his bed, staring at it? So many questions ran through Fynn’s mind, that he hoped one day he could ask Luke about and Luke would provide all the answers to ease his curious mind. His thoughts were soon interrupted when Luke handed him some clothes to change into.

“Here, change into this. I’ll go make use some tea to warm-up” Luke said, before leaving the room

Oh yea, that’s right, Fynn’s clothes were soaked, but these are Luke’s clothes. Fynn couldn’t help but to smell the clothes. Indeed they had Luke’s scent on them. Babies can recognize their mother’s scent instantly and it bonds the child and mother closer. Fynn wanted to do just the same, he wanted to be bonded closer to Luke, he wanted to take in Luke’s entire scent, everything.

Luke had handed Fynn a t-shirt and some loose pants, but he also gave him a pair of fresh boxers in the pile of cloths. Luke’s boxers. The boxers he wears! The thought of himself wearing Luke’s own undergarment made Fynn become a bit flustered and not want to put them on, but his underwear was soaked so he didn’t have much of a choice. He mustered up the courage and changed out his wet garments and into the soft, warm, not to mention dry, ones. It was intoxicating. Luke’s scent was completely enveloping Fynn and he felt like his body was about to float away.

His accent, soon enough ended when Luke returned into the room.

“Here, some pomegranate green tea. Oh, it’s kind of hot, so be careful” Luke stated as he handed the mug of tea over to Fynn.

Luke took a sip of his tea and then walked over to place his mug down in a small table next to the bed. He then rummaged through his dresser drawer to find some clothes for himself it seemed. Luke was still in his wet clothes after all. Wait, Luke wasn’t going to change in front of Fynn was he? Was he?! Fynn thought his heart was about to stop, but luckily Luke left the room to change in the bathroom, Fynn assumed. It’s not that Fynn didn’t want to take in every inch of Luke’s body, he did, but Fynn’s heart wouldn’t be able to handle it right now so suddenly. He took a sip of his tea to calm his mind down a bit. Perfect. The tea was so delicious, and it warmed Fynn’s body right up, it was exactly what he needed right now. Tea really did solve all of Fynn’s problems.

Luke returned into the room with fresh, dry clothes and a towel over his head. He handed Fynn a towel as well for his wet hair.

            “Ah, thanks.”

Luke relied back with a smile across his face.

Damn, it really wasn’t fair how Luke controlled Fynn’s emotions so much. One simple word or gesture could make Fynn eternally happy or utterly devastated within an instant. He didn’t really like the constant change of emotions in his heart, but he just couldn’t help but be controlled by the princess that stood before him. There was no escaping; he was forever captured by the princess’s eyes and words.

Luke tousled his hair a bit with the towel in the hopes it will dry faster and then walked over to reclaim his mug of steaming tea. He took another sip of his tea as we sat down on the bed’s edge.

“Ah, that’s some food tea, warms the body right up after being in the cold rain….Hmm? Fynn, join me, have a seat”

Luke patted the spot on the bed next to him and looked at Fynn with the softest gazing eyes, to which there was no way Fynn could refuse the request given to him. He sat down on the bed right next to Luke.

Fynn didn’t quite know what to do so he just kept sipping at his tea. Luke took another sip of his tea as well, then reached over to place his mug on the small table once again and motioned for Fynn to hand him his mug. Fynn caught the message and complied. Luke placed Fynn’s mug next to his and scooted his body from the edge of the bed to the other edged of the bed that met with the wall. He leaned his back against the wall and motioned for Fynn to do the same. Who was Fynn to deny Luke, so he followed Luke’s will once again and scooted back to join Luke against the wall. Luke pulled Fynn closer to him and pulled his dull colored teal blanket over their legs up until their waist.

Fynn gave a pure look of innocent filled eyes at Luke. He didn’t know what to expect, what to happen next, well he kind of guessed they kiss next, in fact, he was hoping for such a thing to happen, but it didn’t matter because it was he was with Luke either way. Was he really allowed to be enjoying all of this though? Fynn didn’t care, he was loving it too much to let his brain get in his way. Fynn felt a crash of emotions come over him and he just hugged his arms around Luke and buried his face into Luke’s chest.

            “You know Fynn….”

Fynn raised his face away from Luke’s chest at the start of Luke’s words so his eyes could properly meet with Luke’s.

“….I really was concerned about the trains, but maybe it was just me making an excuse…I’m really glad you come over. I…well, I really don’t like being alone when I sleep, the feeling of being alone as you fall asleep is just too heavy for me at times. I’m just happy to have you by me right now.”

Luke’s eyes stared directly into Fynn’s. Fynn wanted to cry, he knew what that feeling was like, no one likes to be alone at night he thought, the unbearable feeling of being alone in that dark unknown area called sleep, while having to fight away the monster that plagued you, alone. No one deserved such a fate.

Fynn hugged Luke in his arms once more, more tightly this time in a protective embrace. He didn’t know what to say to Luke, but words were not needed, Luke seemed to understand the emotions being conveyed to him from Fynn. Luke patted Fynn’s head with ever so gentle hands and then slightly pushed Fynn out of the embrace so their eyes could meet once more.

Luke placed his hand to caress Fynn’s face and moved in to lightly place his lips on Fynn’s. Fynn hoped Luke would continue the kiss more, but he didn’t, rather he pulled Fynn into another hug, but this time with Luke’s arms doing the embracing.

They stayed like that for what seemed like hours, passing the time with soft voices and general conversation. Fynn wanted it to last forever, just take in Luke’s voice, his smell, the feeling of his body forever and ever, but his own body would not allow him. The night had grown old and his eyes had grown heavy with a desire to sleep. Fynn tried to fight his eyes, but the late night and the fact that Luke was his hair and head did not aid in his battle to stay awake. He soon lost his fight and his eyes closed and fell in a deep slumber all the while being embraced by his lovely princess.

                                                                                   ----------------------------------

Soft light on the eyes. Breathing? A pulse, a heartbeat? Whose heartbeat? It’s not mine. Whose heartbeat is this? What’s this extra weight on my head? A hand? A hand on my head? Whose hand? It’s not my hand. A hand on my waist too? Whose hand? It’s not my hand.

Fynn’s mind needed to adjust to his surroundings. He and Luke fell asleep last night while in conversation and the weak pale light was now causing Fynn’s eyes to stir and wake up to the reality surrounding them. It took Fynn a second, but he finally realized the hand on his head and waist belonged to Luke. Fynn’s head was still lying on Luke’s chest and his hands were lightly resting on Luke’s chest as well. The memory of what happened yesterday and how he came to be resting with Luke right now, came back and Fynn remembered everything. This time, sleeping with Luke was not just another one of his dreams, it was real. Seeing the pale light illuminate Luke’s lovely white pale skin and rosy lips was truly an intoxicating sight to behold. Luke had yet to open his eyes, but that was just fine because Fynn could stare at the beautiful Luke like this forever.

Fynn’s fun soon came to an end however. Luke started to stir awake and lazily opened his beautiful, perfect eyes. Those eyes just stared at Fynn and he swore his insides were melting away. But…dark teal eyes? Was the light tricking his eyes? Fynn could have sworn Luke had brown eyes, yet the ones staring at him were a lovely shade of dark teal, or maybe blue-green. Maybe he never really took the time to stare deeply in Luke’s eyes to notice the color? Whatever the reason, he was taking in every detail of the eyes staring at him right now and he would not soon forget the look and color of those beautiful eyes.

It appeared that Luke’s brain came around, taking in his surroundings and lightly patted Fynn’s head.

“Hey…it’s morning already huh?” Luke uttered with a soft, somewhat groggy voice.

“Yea…” Fynn replied back with just the same sounding kind of voice.

Luke then lightly started to sit up, moving Fynn’s head from his chest in the process.

No, no, I want us to lie together longer. I want to take in your warmth longer. No don’t move, don’t go.

Fynn didn’t want to move from his position, but he decided not to voice his complains. Before either could say another word, both of their stomachs interrupted them.

            “Breakfast?” Luke questioned.

“Ah, sure” Fynn replied back with a shy smile on his face.

Luke, without warning, placed a quick peck on Fynn’s lips and swiftly hopped out of bed.

That was not fair! Fynn thought to himself.

Sneaking a quick kiss like that…

Fynn couldn’t help but blush slightly and pout a bit, but the action did make him extremely happy inside. He just wanted to jump out the window, agh, why was Luke so damn cute? Really it was not far, no one said Luke could cause Fynn to feel all these conflicting, confusing, worried, yet wonderful emotions. There was no use overthinking everything, so Fynn decided to simply follow Luke into the kitchen. He really was hungry after all and it would be nice to eat something to silence his roaring tummy.

Fynn shuffled his way across the hardwood flooring into the kitchen to find Luke making some hot tea and cutting some fruit.

“..Oh, well, I don’t have much, I hope fruit and tea is ok.”

Why would he even ask? Anything was fine because no matter, what it was Fynn would be eating it together with Luke. Really anything is fine as long as I can enjoy it with my beautiful princess in my gaze.

            “That’s fine, fruit is great.”

Luke placed the fruit and tea on the small table that occupied the space closest to the kitchen. When Fynn really looked around, the place was pretty small. Fynn wondered how Luke was able to always have friends in here. Since it was so small, where did all his friends sleep all the time? Fynn was a bit jealous that Luke’s friends always got to crash at his place after a party or something, but Fynn decided not to dwell on the thought for too long. He was with Luke right now and that was all that mattered for him. He may not get to sleep over at Luke’s all the time like Luke’s friends, but he had sleept with Luke that night, feeling Luke’s warmth, his heartbeat, which Fynn was certain any of Luke’s friends have never known. The thought made Fynn proud of himself. Luke was his not theirs.

Normally when Fynn is alonem he devours his food, but he would rather not be like that in front of Luke, so he restrained his wild self and ate the fruit as gracefully as he could. The fruit may have not been much, but it sure was quite satisfying to his stomach that morning. Fynn found it hard to keep eye contact with Luke, rather he let his eyes wander instead of staring Luke down. His gaze was filled with little things like, the wall, the stove, a vase of flowers on the kitchen counter, but then Fynn’s eyes locked on to something. Fynn noticed the clock on the wall. Was that clock right? 3pm? Had they slept until three in the afternoon?

“Uhm, Luke, if that clock correct?”

Luke turned around to check

“Uh…actually that clock is half an hour slow so…really its 3:30…did we really sleep that long?”

            “I guess we did.”

Fynn could feel the awkward silence that soon followed in the air, but Luke didn’t seem to make much of it and continued to consume his food.

Should I say it? Should I wait?

Fynn knew that he really should go home and not stay. He didn’t want to stay any later than he already had. Frankly, he didn’t want to leave to be honest, but he knew he had obligations, like work. He really didn’t want to leave, but he knew he had to. He also knew he couldn’t stay, he didn’t want Luke to get tired of him, he feared that more than anything. Fynn decided to wait till tey were done with their fruit and tea, just to take in a little more time with Luke.

It didn’t take long to finish their meal, and Fynn had to tell Luke that he had to go.

“Uhmm…Luke..I really do need to go home now..”

            “Oh..”

“So, I should change into my clothes and—”

“Don’t worry about that, you can wear those home and return them later. Besides, I think your clothes are still damp from the rain last night.”

            “Ah, but…..are you sure?”

“Yes. You can return the clothes the next time I see you right? It also gives me an excuse to see you again.

            “Ah, yes, I guess that’s true…”

Fynn still thought he should change into his own clothes, but Luke’s statement make him feel warm inside again and it was so nice to have Luke’s scent surrounding him, so he didn’t argue and stayed in the clothes.

Once they finished cleaning up the few dishes, they made their way back to Luke’s room so Fynn could grab his clothes from yesterday and his phone before leaving. Sure enough, his clothes were indeed still damp from the rain last night.

Fynn was reluctant to leave, but he knew if he waited any longer he would never be able to leave. He made his way to the front door and started to put on his shoes.

“Oh, wait a second, Fynn” Luke said and then disappeared into his room.

He came back with a pair of shoes in hand and his phone and keys in his other hand, which he then put inside his jacket pocket.

“Let me walk you to the trainstation.”

            “Oh…um, but you don’t have—”

            “But, I want to.”

            “…..are you sure? I can—”

“I’m sure” Luke replied with a smile.

            “Well…ok then.”

They laced up their shoes and headed out the door together. Luke grabbed Fynn’s hand,  held it in his and they were soon on their way.

Was it really ok for me to hold his hand?

The answer eluded Fynn, but he didn’t care, he just wanted to feel Luke’s warmth and nothing else, he didn’t want to know.

The two didn’t say much on their walk down and they didn’t run into any trouble along the way. The two did encounter a very friendly, fluffy cat however, and got slightly distracted petting the adorable cat, but soon the cat went on its way and so did they.

Fynn wanted their walk to last forever, but reality never worked out in his favor half the time and by then tey were at the train station already.

No, no, I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to let go of this beautiful warm hand.

Reality really . Fynn’s train just then arrived and he knew he had to get on it, he really couldn’t wait for another once. It would become too late in the day if he did. He just wanted time to stop and hold Luke then and there until his last breath.

The worry must have shown on Fynn’s face because Luke let go of Fynn’s hand, but placed both hands on his shoulders to turn him to face Luke.

“It’s ok. Go catch your train. I’ll see you again” Luke reassured Fynn.

“….ok” Fynn replied back with a listless voice.

Luke placed a hand on Fynn’s face, leaned in for a kiss and then pulled Fynn in for one last embrace. Luke then separated them and gently nudged Fynn along to get on the train, all while waving goodbye as Fynn walked over to the train. Luke was quick in his actions, but Fynn figured he did that on purpose as to push him to the train without getting attached to Luke and wanting to stay.

Fynn waved goodbye as well, stepped on to the train and took a seat in a corner of the train. Fynn then emptied himself of all thought and emotion at that point. He knew if he started to think, even the good moments, his mind would be overtaken by dark thoughts and doubts. He didn’t want that, he just wanted to relish the nice moments he spent with Luke, nothing more, nothing less.

His absent mind was soon interrupted by the buzzing of his phone. It was a text message, from Luke? Why would he send a text message when they just parted not more than twenty minutes ago? Fynn opened and read the message regardless.

“Make sure we see each other again, I do expect my clothes back ya know.”

Fynn laughed a bit at the message. Only Luke could do this to him. Luke controlled Fynn so well. One little message and Fynn was overjoyed. He indeed could no longer escape the princess, his whole being was in Luke’s control. The thought scared him because he didn’t want to be hurt by the princess, but he pushed those fears aside and quickly replied to the message.

            “Yea, I will.”

The promise of seeing each other was set, and Fynn rode the rest of the way home with a trouble mind put at ease by the princess’s words.

Chapter 6: perfect, just perfect
