After parking his bicycle, Hyukjae went to his apartment with heavy step. The only sounds that can be heard are his step and his ‘sigh’. He has his head down all the time and his shoulders fall. After reaching his door, he slowly takes the key and unlocks the door.

 

Flashback

‘’lee… sungmin...’’

‘’…’’

‘’sungmin…’’

Hyukjae wide eyes slowly softened as he looks at the brunette in front of him. It was silent for a moment until sungmin turn his back and walk away. But Hyukjae stop him by holding his arm, sungmin frowning and snap back his arm from Hyukjae.

‘’what do you want?’’ ask sungmin flatly to Hyukjae with unreadable face

‘’I…I…’’

‘’I’m leaving’’

With that, sungmin leave Hyukjae alone and walk away. Hyukjae feels his heart sank as he looks at those cold eyes. He bows his head and walk to the opposite direction not minding if he will crash with other person. Without his acknowledge, a couple pairs of eyes looking at him from different direction.

End of flashback

 

The ‘cluck’ sound can be heard as he shut the door and lock it again from inside. Hyukjae throw his backpack on the couch and ed his orange strip shirt and put it off leaving him shirtless (he still wearing pants! Ahem ahem) and sit on the couch facing his laptop. Lazily, he turn on his laptop, absent mindedly not noticing a green colored tie still hanging on his neck.

As usually, he logs in his facebook and sees no notification. He sees the chat box and it shown no one is online. He let out a heavy sigh as he thought of sending kibum a message.

 

Lee Hyukjae (15:09)
Kibummie… you online tell me

 

After he send the message he was about to log out from his account, when suddenly the message box appear a red notification. He opens the message and read:

 

Kim Kibum (15:10)

I’m here! >_<

 

Hyukjae frown but reply back anyway

 

Lee Hyukjae (15:11)

I thought you were offline...

 

Kim Kibum (15:11)

Ohh well, thanks to the ahjumma’s niece next door. She won’t leave me alone! Dang it!

Well… her niece just came back from her trip and she boast about me to her niece, and… that girl kinda over... umm fangirling? Ha, I have hard time dealing with her!! Gah people nowadays won’t leave a handsome boy like me alone!  -‘’- I have to off my chat box until she get back to her hometown and unfriend her later

 

Lee Hyukjae (15:14)

Kim Kibum (15:14)

Are you out of your mind? That ahjumma’s will knock my door and tell my parents that I hurt her niece! I won’t imagine how that happens!!

With that Hyukjae off from his account and shut his laptop. He stands up and goes to his bed room to take his towel as he plan to take a shower before sleep. But his attempt to have shower fail as he slump his body once he laid his eyes on the bed. Slowly, his eyes begin to close.

His eyes closed, but his memory not.

He still can see with his eyes closed, the eyes that was full of joy and happiness but slowly that eyes turn cold and emotionless.

Feeling his head hurting when he remembers it, he tries to think of another pair of eyes of a girl that was once alive. Unconsciously, his lips form a smile and before he knows it, he completely falls asleep with his green tie still hanging on his neck.

It was already 6 o’clock when he arrives at his home. It didn’t take long for him to reach home from campus but as he wants to clear his mind before going back, he does some errand. But it doesn’t change anything either. He turns the door knob with a soundless sigh and get onto the house.

It was dark inside before he turn on the light. He went straight away to kitchen and opens the regenerator and pours cold water into a glass and drinks it. Then, he opens the freezer and stand on front of it. Feeling the chill air coming from the freezer on his white skin, he sighs again.

‘’Dammit... I still can’t stop doing this’’ he said to himself

He closes the freezer and look at the freezer door. He still remembers, there were a lot of picture nailed there using some magnet, there were some card too. But now, it’s empty. And he remembers, he’s the one who take all the pictures and cards away from there.

He shakes his head and put the glass on the table before he climb the stairs and go to his room. It was dark as well, before he turns on the light.

He sits on the bed and look at a frame at the side table, the picture in it consist three kids with a big smile on their face. A girl at the centre and two boys at her side, they were wearing a pink t-shirt each. On the top of the frame there some words:

 

To Lee Sungmin ^_^

 

A single drop of tear trailed down from his left eyes down to his cheek and quickly he wipes it away.

 

He remembers that room was dark before he came back and turns on the light. But he also remembers, the whole house used to be noisy with noise before it become dead silent like now.

‘’okay... this is the last… please’’

Donghae kicks the ball as hard as he could but the ball again hit the goal frame for countless times.

‘’arrrrghhhh!!!’’ he grunts

‘’wo…woo... calm down dude. You will destroy the goal like this’’ said Minho cynically

‘’shut up Minho’’

‘’come on, this is just a training... why being so hard?’’ ask Minho with frown

Donghae just stand up there speechless

‘’ya! Get your over here! Come on the training is over!’’ shout Shin Dong Yup from far

‘’come on! That ahjusshii have call’’ said Minho again before he run to the coach

Donghae just walk leisurely as he thought of something ‘Minho is right, why I train so hard today?’ and he frown

After the coach gives them some tips and advice they dismiss their gathering at the field

Donghae who was still in his thought keep silent the whole time before he jump on his place when someone taps his shoulder

‘’what’s wrong with you?’’

‘’gosh! Siwon! I lost two years of my life!!’’ scream donghae

‘’aigoo... you were the one daydreaming! I’ve calling your name countless times already!!’’

‘’really?’’

Siwon give donghae that what the hell face and donghae just smile awkwardly

‘’seriously, Hae forget that Julian. She is no better than a . You can find another~’’

‘’Julian? Why you are suddenly talk about her?’’ ask donghae with frown

‘’huh? You were daydreaming... I thought you were thinking about her?’’ ask Siwon as he narrow his eyes to donghae

‘’I….didn’t’’ answer donghae silently making Siwon narrowing his eyes even more

‘’…really?’’

‘’yeah’’ he answer again

‘I was wondering, who was that guy? I wonder why Hyukjae suddenly paled when he look at that guy? Why I never seen him before? Is he a new student here? But why he was there? And... Why I didn’t do anything to save Hyukjae?’ donghae wonder.

Yes, he was there. He saw it. But yeah, he didn’t do anything. He doesn’t even know why. But there is something he couldn’t not think about it. He wonders why he feels curious about this. It’s not like he has anything to do with it even is he seen it... right?

But then he remembers Hyukjae face again. He feels uneasy. He doesn’t know why. Is it because he didn’t help Hyukjae at first place? Maybe it is, he thought. But again, who’s Hyukjae to have his attention? He even forgets about Julian for some moment thinking about the question he doesn’t even know what the answer is.

‘’let’s go!’’ Siwon said, making donghae wake up again from his thought. With a sigh, he stand up, taking his bag from the locker and follow Siwon from his back.

The clock showed 9:00 PM. For god knows how gazillion times already Kibum look at his laptop to make sure Hyukjae send him a new message. But none. ‘Did hyukjae’s ‘unluckiness’ have move to me? Nah, that’s silly’. He thought.

But there are also hundreds message from his neighbor’s niece. He has enough of this. He can just log off his account and go to sleep early or watch any movie at the time. But he knows he can’t. What if Hyukjae send him a message? He want to be there when Hyukjae need him. He knows Hyukjae have no one. Even through internet, he wants to give Hyukjae a shoulder to lean.

 

Wait what. Why those sound weird?

Ahem. Let me (author) clarify a thing. He do love Hyukjae, but not as a romance love.

 

After some hours waiting, he feels boredom is starting to kill him. So he takes his mouse and brings the arrow to his folders in the laptop screen. He thought about watching any movie he downloaded but his thought fade as his accidently click on a different file and bring his thought to Hyukjae again. It was a picture folder. Hyukjae‘s picture folder.

There are sometimes Hyukjae will upload his picture and send it to kibum. So being a kind friend, kibum save the entire picture and make a folder for Hyukjae in his laptop. Hyukjae used to forgot if he delete some picture and he will ask kibum for it. So that’s one of reason why kibum make that folder. Well, not like there more reason actually. Right?

Hyukjae and Kibum never really meet each other. But sometimes they use Skype to have video chat. He tells kibum everything happened to him every day. And kibum will do the same. They are friend of each other. And they treasure each other.

Kibum click the picture and look at it one by one, Hyukjae have send him a lot of pictures. The latest picture was Hyukjae feeding choco some foods. He keep clicking next and next until an hour.

It was that picture again.

The picture of three kids with a girl at the centre, they have this big smile on their face. The smile that kibum never have when he was on their age.

It bring back kibum his memory, when he was video chatting with Hyukjae once. He asked about hyukjae’s childhood and he still remembers how Hyukjae‘s face fall in instant. He being curious and stubborn at the same times, he kept ask Hyukjae to tell him.

 

And Hyukjae did.

 

And that time when Hyukjae tell him everything, he swore he will be a kind friend of Hyukjae after this. He felt bad for forcing Hyukjae to tell him everything, but he will never regret it. Not once not in future. He knows the memories Hyukjae tell him is a tragedy. That’s why, he want to be with Hyukjae side as his real friend.

Hyukjae have shown him something. Something that people around him couldn’t afford to show him.

Hyukjae show him, in this world, there are still a lot of people who have been suffering. It’s not a good thing, but it make kibum realize, that he was not the one who was hurt.

Kibum close the folder and look at the clock hanging on the wall.

It was 10:15 PM

Hyukjae still haven’t sent him any message yet.

 

So finally he decides.

 

He decides to keep waiting.
