How Long Have I Love Thee?

An Angel's Promise To The Sky
In Leeteuk and Sora's Suite

"BE SURE that you will tell me everything that you are feeling from now on, Sora-ya. I want to know what you're thinking and how you really feel. Nothing will really change, just open up more to me." Leeteuk said while having Sora lying her head on his arm, on their bed,

"Don't I do that all the time, oppa?" Sora asked while looking up at Leeteuk,

"Aniyo. Sometimes you keep some secrets on how you feel and keep your problems to yourself. Just remember that I'm here and you can tell me everything." Leeteuk just said to her,

"I don't do that, oppa. I don't keep secrets from you." Sora replied to Leeteuk again,

"Yes you did. Take your situation with Taeyeon for example, you never told me that you had arguments with her before. You never mentioned anything about them, Kyhyun just told me about them once." Leeteuk replied to her and cupped Sora's face,

"I'm not telling you to tell every move that you make, Princess. I'm just telling you to come to me whenever you are feeling down or something like that. You are free to decide the things that you want to do unless they will affect our relationship."

"Arasso, oppa. I understand, mianhe." Sora replied and bowed her head,

"Gwenchana, yeobo. We both have limitations now because our bond is tighter now, we must talk about the things that would affect our relationship and let's not take things lightly than before." Leeteuk then said,

"Oppa... how about our partners at work? Most of your fans like you to be with another girl group member and they are rooting for you, I always read that on the internet."

"Hmm, about that... Should I be the one who has to worry more about your partners because they get to hug and kiss you on television?" Leeteuk playfully eyed Sora,

"I don't have anyone whom I kissed on screen, I didn't have anyone whom I hugged too 'coz most of the videos that we do are Super Junior videos. That's quite unfair to oppa, don't you think?" he said and winked at her,

"Oppa!..." Sora said and slightly hit Leeteuk on his abs,

"I'm just kidding, yeobo. I don't really mind your partners at work, I know how important is your work for you. Just don't let those guys get too close to you though.I'm sure you have an idea now on how beautiful you are so please stay away from them if they try to do something that's beyond your work." Leeteuk then said,

They stayed for a few more days in New York and they also made a one day stop in Japan before flying back to Korea. They immediately wore their disguises when the captain announced their arrival at Incheon International Airport.

Leeteuk called his manager up as soon as handphones are allowed to use. He asked the Super Junior manager to pick them up to the airport immediately. They waited for about 30 minutes before they can hop up to the Super Junior service van,

"Annyeong haseyo, Junghoon oppa." Sora greeted the Super Junior Manager as soon as she settled herself on the seat,

"Annyeong haseyo, Sora-ssi. Did you enjoy your private time with Leeteuk-ssi?" Junghoon asked, smiling at the couple at the backseat,

"Ne. we roamed around New York and we took a lot of photos there together too." Sora answered him,

"Where are the boys, hyung?" Leeteuk asked their manager,

"They are having their individual stints but Yesung is planning to go home to his family tonight so you will be the only one who's going to be left in the dorm." Junghoon said, "Do you want to stay at Sora's place tonight?"

"Mweoya? Will it be alright if I do that, Junghoon hyung?" Leeteuk asked, unsure if what his manager said was right,

"Well, I think it's a better option than having Sora stay alone at her place and you being alone at the dorm." Junghoon said,

"But don't the boys be going back to the dorm after their work?" Leeteuk asked again,

"Teukie-ya, don't mind about the boys. You will be seeing them tomorrow when you go back to work." Junghoon said and turned to Sora,

"Don't you like to spend your time with Leeteuk more, Sora-ya?" he asked and winked at Sora,

"If that's not too much to ask, Junghoon oppa..." Sora replied and shyly bowed her head,

"See, Sora-ya likes what I just suggested? Spend the night together tonight. Serve it as a gift from me and your brothers for your engagement." Junghoon said and grinned to the two of them,

"Oppa, how did you...?" Sora asked, confused about how Junghoon knew about her engagement to Leeteuk,

"Sora-ya, you're going to be family soon, so I will let you in a secret." Junghoon started and smiled at Sora, "Leeteuk-ssi is a blabbermouth when he gets excited over something, and you, accepting his proposal included." he continued,

"Yah, hyung! aren't you becoming a talkative one? You're not supposed to sell your dongsaeng like that!" Leeteuk reacted to Junghoon that made their manager laugh,

"Mweo? Am I selling you out to other women, Park Jungsoo? That's Sora-ssi for crying out loud, and she's going to be your future wife."

"Correction, hyung. She's my wife..."

Junghoon drove them on Sora's apartment to let Leeteuk stay there for the night. They placed their baggage once they entered the apartment and sat on the couch,

"We're going back to reality starting tomorrow, yeobo. We're going back on our secret dates and hint giving again." Leeteuk said while laying his head on Sora's lap,

"Don't think too much about that, oppa. What's important is that we will keep our relationship strong even if we're not a normal couple." Sora said and ran her fingers on Leeteuk's hair,

"Sora-ya, I hope you're not regretting your decision to be my girlfriend. Oppa can't take you anywhere that's not private, you can't have a normal date with me. We can't even go to the mall and stroll like normal couples do." Leeteuk said and sighed,

"Jungsoo oppa, do you think I can still do those kind of things now? I have you know, there's this one time I was with Jiyeon-ah and we went to the mall but one of the sales assistants there recognized me from Sunny and we ended up not buying anything because I was about to get mobbed because of it." Sora said and pouted on Leeteuk,

"Jinjja? Remember the time that we were chased by the fans too when we were at the mall?" Leeteuk asked and laughed,

"Yeah. Now I know the real feeling if you are the one who's being chased like that." Sora replied, remembering the time when they have to run all around the mall just to lose the Super Junior fans who noticed Leeteuk,

Leeteuk sighed deeply before asking his girlfriend, "Sora-ya, do you know how long I have been loving you?" and then he touched Sora's cheek with the back of his hand,

"You told me that before, oppa. When I was sick, right? And from then on we became a couple and having our relationship since then." Sora replied and smiled at Leeteuk,

"Ani. I have been loving you longer than that, Princess. To be honest, I fell in love with you while you were in high school, but I thought you're too young for me and besides, I dont know if you'll look my way." Leeteuk said and turned his body to the side and hugged her tummy,

"Highschool? Jiyeon did mention that you have..." Sora remembered that Jiyeon admitted to her that Leeteuk had a crush on her during her high school years and has a highschool selca of her too, but didn't finish because she remembered it has to be a secret,

"Jiyeon told you what?" Leeteuk asked, curious on what Sora will say,

"Nothing, oppa." Sora just said and grinned lovingly at Leeteuk, "How about you? Do you have an idea on how long I have been loving you?" she asked instead,

"I think I have an idea about that, but I'm not sure though. High school?" Leeteuk said,

"Aniyo. I have been loving you since you were a trainee in SME, oppa. I was 11 at that time, I think. You can say that you're my first love." Sora admitted and touched her heated cheeks,

"Mweo? Trainee days? I was 18 that time then, and you said you were 11? Ahh! You're making me feel like an ahjussi, nae aegi gongju! You're still playing with barbie dolls and I've been partying here and there." Leeteuk retorted and blew some air, puffing his face,

"Ani! You don't look like an ahjussi though. You're always acting like a kid and you do look younger than the people at your age, oppa." Sora said and gave Leeteuk a peck on his lips,

Leeteuk grinned and smiled at Sora before touching her face, "Yeah right and you did admit it yourself, you love this ahjussi. Don't you, Mrs. Park Sora?" Leeteuk said that made his girlfriend nod,

Leeteuk stood up from the couch and scooped Sora up to his arms, "Shall we call it a night and have a rest? I'm sure we have a lot fo schedules in lined for tomorrow. he said before carrying Sora to the room.

The Next Day

Leeteuk woke up to the sound of his phone. He stood up from the bed not minding to cover his body up to answer the phone,

"Yoboseyo?" he answered sleepily,

"Leeteuk-ssi, come and see me at my office at once." the person on the other line said before hanging up on him.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
