The Streets of Paris

An Angel's Promise To The Sky

SORA and Jiyeon walked to the streets of Rue de' lUniversite while taking pictures of old structures. Sora was also fascinated with the different colored dorrs that the buildings had. She also took some pictures of Jiyeon on some of them and ask her to model for her for fun.

There are also several cars that are parked on either side of the road, such as Mini Coopers and the likes. Small cars are quite famous in France due to the narrow roads that they have. The said street is also lined with Antique shops, libraries and some old furniture shops too. None of these things missed Sora's camera lens.

As they pass Rue de Jacob, they also saw old buildings which Sora guessed to have been standing for about a hundred years or so. Almost all of the establishments on the said street are full of Hotels which all look like a King's palace due to the way they built it.

They turned to the corner of Rue de Seine and saw an array of cafes and restaurants. Jiyeon and Sora entered a shop and tried one of their bestselling crepes. They also saw a simple white shop on the same street that sells a variety of teas. Sora also purchased some to give it a try.

"Eonnie, I think I'm going to ask Jungsoo oppa to come back here again. There are a lot of things that I want to try." Jiyeon said as they were looking to the other shops,

"Jiyeon-ah, we have a lot of time to do that while we're here." Sora said, while taking pictures of some people walking with them,

"Ne, good thing you have already finished doing Dream High 2 or else we're probably spending our time at home and not enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris." Jiyeon said,

A store caught Sora's eye when they reached the intersection of Saint - Germaine Boulevard and Rue Dupuytren,

"What are you looking at, Sora eonnie?" Jiyeon asked and followed the direction of Sora's eyes. She saw that they are standing next to a lingerie shop,

"Do you want to enter, eonnie? Let's give it a try. We might find something that we might like." Jiyeon said and winked at Sora,

“Do you think it’s alright if we do that?” Sora asked without taking her eyes away from the black lacy nighties.

It has a soft satin fabric which lengths up to the half of her legs which is lined with black lace on top near the shoulder string that follows the curve of a lady’s bosom. The strap is also made with lace as well.

“Eonnie, there’s no harm in trying. We can just look for some clothes without saying anything then go to the counter and pay for it.” Jiyeon said and winked at Sora,

Sora reluctantly followed Jiyeon as she enters the lingerie shop, she blushed beet red on the first sleepwear garment that she saw. It was made of red mesh cloth with a few lace ts around the bust area, and a pair of string bikini inside which was hung with it.

“D – Do you think it’s appropriate to wear things like that at night?” Sora asked, she can still feel her cheeks hot while looking at the sleepwear, “W – what if it’s really cold?” she asked again in no one in particular,

“Yah, eonnie! That’s just for married ones, I think. Don’t they give that kind of stuff to girls on a bridal shower or something?” Jiyeon said, quite confused too if she got the right information about it,

“Oh, jinjja? I thought they really wear that kind of sleepwear here at night.” Sora said and heaved a deep sigh,

Wae, eonnie? Are you thinking of getting one and use it for tonight when you sleep?” Jiyeon Sora eonnie that made the older one blush again,

“W – What are you saying?” Sora uttered and diverted her eyes away from Jiyeon, “I think it’s better if we just get out of here now, Jiyeon-ah.” She said and started walking to the door of the shop,

“Sora eonnie, don’t you want to buy this nice silk nightie that you have been looking at when we arrived on the corner of this store?” Jiyeon asked while holding the nightie that caught Sora’s eye,

“Jiyeon, there’s no reason for me to buy that though.” Sora said referring to the item, “I won’t find the chance to use that kind of thing here or even in Korea.” She continued while blushing,

“Alright, but let me just grab a few things though, eonnie ‘coz I saw some cute pairs at the other side.” Jiyeon said before rushing on the glass shelf containing beautiful pairs of lingerie,

Sora sat on the settee at the middle of the shop while waiting for Jiyeon,

“I wonder what Jungsoo oppa is doing right now?” Sora uttered to herself, thinking of what plans does Leeteuk has for the two of them for the night.

When Jiyeon came back, she is already bringing a nice paper bag which has the name of the lingerie store,

“Jiyeon-ah, were you able to get what you liked?” Sora asked while looking at the paper bag her friend is holding,

“Ne.” Jiyeon just replied and told Sora to explore the other stores on the other side of the boulevard and continue their shopping,

They reached another intersection and Sora was telling on looking for some libraries or bookstores they can find. She has been trying to look for self – help books in photography which is her favourite hobby.

The two ladies also found a nice bag shop where they were able to find cute ones that they purchased. And every time they head to the counter, they always have the argument of who will pay for Sora’s purchases because Jiyeon is reminded on what her oppa told her,

Don’t let Sora-ya spend on anything! Remember that!

They continued entering on those little shops and cafes to have a taste of their delicacies which made Jiyeon and Sora full, they feasted their eyes on the looks of the other other shops and even came across a magazine shop in the middle of the city when they saw a French Magazine with Super Junior on the cover.

Both of their hands are full with shopping bags from the stores they have passed through when they already decided to head straight to the famous Jardin du Luxemburg and have their rest there while taking some pictures,

When they were at the corner of where Jardin du Luxemburg is, they saw a familiar store on one of the shops standing there, Jiyeon even walked in front of it and dragged Sora with her just to make sure,

The building’s paint is torn and dry, the building itself is dilapidated, the glass wall are broken which is scattered from the inside, there are also clothes racks which are old and unused, the signage of the store is dangling out of place on the upper part of the door, with a large plank of painted wood saying, Pour la fermeture, which translates, For Closure

It was Couture d’Taeyeon.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
