해바라기

(kyuhae)

Donghae is captivating. He has the ability to drag anyone in and keep them engaged for years, forever. When he walks out onto the stage with blazing confidence and charisma, there is not a soul that can look away, not that they'd want to anyways. He dances fiercely, every move calculated and rehearsed for months so they are executed perfectly. There are few on the planet that can replicate his impeccable skills. Donghae is a star, but to Kyuhyun, he is the sun. 

When Donghae makes the journey home at the crack of dawn with bags upon bags under his weary eyes, skin lacking it's usual luster and a deep frown seeming to be permanently etched onto his face, nobody takes a second glance at him. He is allowed to finally rest and not worry about his image. Subway passengers pay him no mind as he enters and care even less when he exits.  

Kyuhyun cannot take his eyes off of him. He is gorgeous, the epitome of perfection. There is not a second where Kyuhyun's gaze is not fixed on Donghae as he enters Kyuhyun's tiny studio apartment with sagging shoulders and a stuttered sigh. He readily accepts Donghae's aching, tired form into his arms and guides him to the shower. Even then, Kyuhyun cannot help but stare in obvious awe as Donghae removes articles of clothing. His eyes trace over bruises and scars, the veins popping out of his arms, the bones of his ribs and spine. There is not a bit of Donghae that Kyuhyun wants to miss. 

He falls asleep immediately on Kyuhyun's bed, breathing slowed and eyelashes fanning out against his cheeks. Kyuhyun kisses him all over, knowing it wouldn't wake him. The sleeping form of Donghae is one of his favourite sights. The rise and fall of his chest leaves Kyuhyun wonderstruck. His fingers delicately trace over subtle curves and caress soft, tan skin. His body is relaxed compared to the usual tenseness he carries. Because when he is Donghae the star, the world is looking at him and he has to be perfect. 

But here, in Kyuhyun's home, in their home, he is Kyuhyun's sun. And Kyuhyun is a measly sunflower, constantly looking and growing towards him. Only needing Donghae to be himself and not expecting anything else. 

idk what inspired this honestly i just thought of 해바라기 and i was like omg like DONGhaebaragi. and this happened.

okay so I know you guys are probably like "winter, where have you been you big lump of broken update promises?" and to answer that I have a very simple answer: I'M IN COLLEGE. Now, normally i would do anything to get away from my school responsibilities to write something for you all (and for myself honestly), but this time I have a degree at stake here. I can't just shrug off my work and study time. I can't guarantee any updates on my other stories so I'm not going to promise that. In fact, I might even just put them on a forever hiatus or delete them all together because I honestly have no idea how I'm going to find the time to finish writing them. Adult life is dumb like that. So, you can just ask me about any of my various fics on here or tumblr or whatever and I will answer anything. I don't really like having to do this, but I really don't know what to do at this point. Thanks for sticking around. I really do love and appreciate all of you so much. ;__;
