I kept meeting with the composer but he was still not satisfied with my music. I really didn't know how to change it. I was really desperate.

“You need a break.”, Ha Ni said when I met her one day during lunch break.

“Do I?”

“Yeah. You're going to overwork yourself this way.”

“But I don't have time to take a break. I have to finish the song until the deadline.”

Ha Ni sighed. “You're not gonna finish the song this way. Come one, one day won't make a difference.”

“And what's your suggestion? Just go home and sleep? I rather keep working and sleep when this is over.”

Ha Ni gave me a mischievous smile. “No, let's have fun today.”

“Why do I have the feeling that I'm not gonna like this?”, I asked and gave her a suspicious look.

“Oh, you'll like it. Don't worry.”

“Just spill the beans and stop beating around the bush.”

“Tsk, tsk. Thu Ha, don't you know that patience is a virtue?”

“I was never good at being patient.”

“Yeah, I noticed.”

“So? What's your plan?”

She smiled. “Follow me, I'll explain everything in the car.”

We grabbed a cab and Ha Ni gave the driver the address to a certain place. When we arrived, she suddenly pulled me down, so that we were now crouching behind a car. Without further explanation, she handed me a tag which had the word 'STAFF' written on it.

“What am I supposed to do with this?”, I asked confusedly.

“We're going to visit someone.”

“Okay....where did you get this tag?”

She grinned. “Well...I told you that I was a stylist, right? Let's say I pulled in some favors.”

“Won't you get in trouble for this?”

“Nobody will find out, don't worry.”

I sighed. I really had a bad feeling about this.

“Come on, Thu Ha. A wise person once told me that life is about taking risks.”

“I don't think that the person meant this.”

“Let's have some fun, Thu Ha.”, she said and pouted.

I sighed. “Okay, okay. I'll do it but that doesn't mean that I'll like it.”

Ha Ni just rolled her eyes at me and walked towards the entrance of the building. When I saw the security guy, I got even more nervous.

“Your IDs, please.”, he said.

Uh oh.

Ha Ni smiled sweetly at him and handed him her ID. He scanned the card and his expression turned skeptical. Just when he opened his mouth to say something, someone shouted: “Ha Ni? There you are! Come on, hurry!”

Ha Ni gave the security guy another sweet smile. “See? My presence is requested. May I?”

The security guy still had a skeptical look on his face but he stepped aside.

“And what about her?”, he asked and motioned at me.

“She's with me.”, Ha Ni said and grabbed my hand.

When we passed the security guy, I whispered: “Gosh, that was close.”

“Yeah, did you see his face when I got called? So hilarious!”, she said and chuckled.

“Hilarious? My heart stopped beating for a moment!”

“Come on, calm down. We need to hurry.”, she said and rushed forward to join the staff member who called her earlier.

I trailed behind them. While walking, many people passed us. Every one of them had a tag like us. After a while, we stopped and I looked around. We were in a big room with many cameras. In the middle of the room was a white screen.

I stopped beside Ha Ni. “What is this?”

“A CF shooting.”

“And why are we here?”

“Have you ever seen a CF shooting before?”

I shook my head.

“Then watch and enjoy it.”

I frowned. After looking around again, I noticed some pretty girls in school uniforms standing in the far corner. Were they having this CF shooting today?

Near the group of girls, I noticed a group of handsome guys. They also wore school uniforms. I couldn't get rid of the feeling that I saw them before. Then it finally dawned on me.

I nudged Ha Ni. “Hey, isn't that -”

“Yeah, that are the boys we've met before. They are idols, by the way.”

“What? I thought that they were Trainees like you?”

“Nope, they are pretty high class idols right now.”

“Who are they?”

“They are called 'BEAST'. Ever heard of them before?”

I frowned. “I don't know. Maybe. Could be possible that they were mentioned in some articles.”

Suddenly the people started moving. The boys and girls in uniforms gathered to shoot the pictures. I recognized the tall guy with dark brown hair, who was talking to Ha Ni when I first met them. I think his name was 'Doojoon'. The next guy was the one who caused this weird reaction by Ha Ni. When he was posing with the other girl, I glanced at Ha Ni. She had a blank expression on her face. It was kinda scary. Then I noticed the tension in her body.

Who was this guy? Or rather, what happened between these two? I needed to find out.

“Who's this?”, I whispered.

“Who do you mean?”

“The guy who's posing right now.”

“Yang Yoseob.”

The name didn't tell me anything.

“And why are you so tense whenever you see him? Did he do anything to you?”

“I'm not tense.”

“Liar.”

Ha Ni sighed. “It's a long story.”

I waited but Ha Ni didn't continue. Seems like she didn't want to talk about it right now. Fine with me. It was none of my business.

Seeing the next person pulled me out of my thoughts. It was him. Mr. Handsome. He gave the camera a lazy smile and started posing with the girl.

Ha Ni chuckled. “Oh no, you've been enthralled by our Son Nam Shin.”

“No, I'm not 'enthralled' by him.”

Ha Ni shrugged. “If you say so. But let me tell you something: he may be a pretty face but he's kinda...difficult.”

I arched an eyebrow at her. “Define 'difficult'.”

“Just be careful, okay?”

“Stop with these riddles, please. And I don't know why you're worrying so much. He's a gentleman and he's nice.”

“So you think that you know him better than me after meeting him, like what, once? Thu Ha, I've been a Cube Trainee for a while now. And don't forget my time as a Cube stylist. I know him better than you do, trust me.”

“So? I've talked to him and he seems nice.”

“First impressions can be deceiving.” She sighed. “Look, it's not that he's evil or something like that. He's cute and he's nice but....he knows that he's godly handsome, thus his name 'Son Nam Shin', so just be careful, okay?”

“Ha Ni, you're too young to be so cynical.”

“I'm just talking out of experience.”, she said and then she grabbed my hand and pulled me into a corner. “Thu Ha, I know that you've just broken up with Taec and that you're probably feeling lonely right now but don't let these feelings influence your judgment.”

I glared at her. “You know nothing about me.”

“I've been through the same, so I do know how it feels like.”

“We're not the same person, Ha Ni. Everyone has his own way of coping with things.”

She sighed. “Look, I didn't mean to offend you. Yes, I was wrong and yes, I shouldn't judge you but...just promise me to stay away from Dongwoon. It's for your own sake.”

So his name was Dongwoon. Interesting.

Before I could retort, another voice said: “What are you doing here, Ha Ni?”

Ha Ni's eyes flickered to something behind me and then her face turned blank.

“Oh, so now his Highness is suddenly talking to me? Well, you know what? That's none of your business.”, she said

“Don't be so childish, Ha Ni. You shouldn't be here.”

I kinda felt out of place but I didn't know where to go, so I just stayed there and tried to concentrate on something else.

Ha Ni narrowed her eyes. “So, and why? I can be wherever I want to be.”

“You could get into trouble.”

“Only friends are here, they won't say anything.”

He let out a frustrated sigh. “Ha Ni, don't endanger your future like this.”

“Oh, so you suddenly care for my future? As far as I'm concerned, it didn't seem like I even existed to you.”

“Stop being so childish.”

“The only one behaving like a child is you. Your way of coping with problems is running away from them like a coward. Face your problems like an adult, Sunbae.”

His face hardened. “What? You want me to not run away anymore? You want me to face my problems? Then who do you think am I doing this for?”

Okay, that was more than I needed to know. I tried to turn their attention back to me by coughing. And it worked. The guy suddenly flinched and looked at me. His expression clearly told me that he didn't notice that I was standing next to them, hearing everything they've said so far. He quickly pulled himself together .

“We'll talk about this later.”, he said.

Then he gave me a polite nod and walked away. Ha Ni let out a frustrated sigh and slumped against the wall.

“It's okay if you don't want to tell me but I couldn't help but notice that you both seem kinda...close.”

“Close, huh? As if.”

I frowned.

She sighed. “Look, like I said earlier, it's a long story. Let's talk about it another time, okay?” She pulled away from the wall. “I kinda need fresh air right now. I'll be back in a while.”

I panicked. “What?! You can't leave me alone. What am I supposed to do here?”

“Just lean back and enjoy the show.”, she said and walked away.

Great. Just great. Taking a deep breath, I returned to the shooting. I kept watching for a while, waiting for Ha Ni to return.

Suddenly a staff member appeared in front of me. “Hey, are you waiting for a personal invitation? Move your lazy and start working!”

“Uhm...what?”

The staff member let out a frustrated sigh. “Why do I always have to work with rookies?” He looked at me. “Go and fix the boys' makeup and hair.”

“Huh?”

“Are you deaf? Move! We're working on a tight schedule!”

I quickly rushed towards the boys to get away from this rude person. Seriously, he didn't need to be so mean. I recalled what he told me to do. Something with fixing makeup and hair. I looked around and found a makeup kit. While walking towards the boys, I glanced at the other stylists. They used tissues to wipe away the sweat and then they used powder and lip balm to re-adjust the makeup. It didn't seem that complicated.

I walked towards a guy who didn't have a stylist yet. It was the tall guy called Doojoon. I swiped away the sweat and re-adjusted his makeup.

“Have we met before? You look familiar.”, he asked all of a sudden.

I froze. “Uhm....probably not.”

“I see.”

Relieved, I let out a breath and continued re-adjusting his makeup. When I finished Doojoon's makeup, the next guy came to me. When I saw him, I froze again.

Mr. Handsome.

He smiled. “Well...are you going to do this or do I have to do it on my own?”

I needed a moment to realize what he said. Then I quickly pulled myself together and grabbed a tissue to wipe away his sweat.

“You're new, right?”, he asked after a while.

I gulped. “Yeah.”

“I noticed.”

I stopped. “What do you mean?”

He gave me another smile and then he put his hand on my hand, which was holding the tissue against his face.

“Look, you should do it like this...” He used my hand to dab the tissue. “...instead of wiping to avoid smearing too much makeup.”

It was really hard to concentrate on what he was saying when his warm hand was on mine. When he let go, I could still feel the prickle where his hand has been. I had to try hard to fight the blush. After a while, I managed to finish re-adjusting his makeup without blushing.

“Okay, I'm done.”

“Thank you.”, he said and left with a smirk on his face.

When he was out range, I let out a breath and put a hand on my chest to calm my racing heart. Then I went back and continued watching the shooting. After a while, the stylists were called again. I sighed and walked towards the boys. This time I had to re-adjust the makeup of the guy who has been arguing with Ha Ni. What was his name again? Yoseob?

While wiping away his sweat, I couldn't help but think about his conversation with Ha Ni. Why was Ha Ni always so tense around him? Was he an ex-boyfriend? It didn't seem like that. But he was definitely more than a friend to Ha Ni.

“Do I have something on my face?”, he asked suddenly.

I froze. “No. Why?”

“Because you keep frowning at me.”

Uh oh. I must have been staring at him while trying to figure out the relationship between him and Ha Ni. I quickly pulled myself together.

“Sorry, I was kinda lost in thoughts.”

He gave me a small smile. “What's your name?”

“I'm Thu Ha.”

“Thu Ha-ssi, you and Ha Ni should leave soon. It's not good for you both to be here.”

I sighed. “I tried to talk Ha Ni out of this...but you know her, she can be very stubborn.”

“Yeah, indeed.” He frowned. “Look, about earlier -”

“Hyung, I think it's my turn now.”, someone interrupted.

I looked over Yoseob's shoulder and saw Mr. Handsome standing behind him. Yoseob turned around and arched an eye brow at him but he stepped aside without saying anything. Mr. Handsome gave me a dazzling smile and walked towards me. I pulled out a tissue and wiped his sweat away. When I re-adjusted his makeup, he said: “So...why is such a beautiful Lady like you working as an stylist?”

“Dongwoon.”, Yoseob said and frowned.

Mr. Handsome ignored him and flashed another smile at me.

I blushed. “Why? Is being a stylist such a bad job?”

“No but someone as pretty and charming as you shouldn't be fixing other people's makeup.”

“Dongwoon, don't.”, Yoseob said and frowned again.

Why did Yoseob behave this way? It was as if he wanted to stop Dongwoon from doing something silly.

“Hyung, you shouldn't distract her like this. And shouldn't you get ready for the shooting? It's your turn after Doojoon Hyung.”

Yoseob gave him a disapproving look and walked away. Dongwoon didn't seem to notice it because he gave another smile.

I blushed even more. “I like this job.”

“Why?”

“I get to meet a lot of interesting people.”

He smirked. “Yeah? Who, for example?”

Before I could answer, someone called Dongwoon.

“Sorry, gotta go. See you later.”, he said and walked away.

I kept staring after him.

“Woah, why is your face so flushed?”, someone asked next to me.

Startled, I turned around. “Oh, hey Ha Ni.”

“You okay?”

“Yeah, I'm fine.”

Ha Ni frowned but she didn't say anything else. I continued to stare at Dongwoon. During the shoot he noticed me staring at him and flashed me a dazzling smile. I blushed in return.

“Are you kidding me? What's going on between you and Dongwoon?”, Ha Ni asked.

“Uh...nothing.”

“That didn't look like nothing to me. Oh, come on, Thu Ha. I told you to stay away from him.”

“Okay, what's your problem? You keep telling me to stay away from him but he has been nothing but nice to me.”

“Don't let him fool you.”

“Ha Ni, just admit it. You're jealous, right?”

“I am WHAT?”

“Yeah, you're jealous that he's nice to me whereas you seem to have trouble with that other guy back there.”

Her face hardened. “What happened between him and me is none of your business.”

“The same applies to Dongwoon and me.”

Ha Ni glared at me. “I'm out of here. I don't need your attitude right now.”

“Right back at you.”, I snapped.

Ha Ni turned around and walked away. But as soon as she was out of sight, I immediately regretted what I said. But it was too late now. I would try to apologize to her when she's not angry anymore.

The stylists were called again for the last time. I quickly walked towards Dongwoon. When I was nearly done with his makeup, he suddenly put his hand on my cheek and leaned closer. My heart stopped beating for a moment. He was so close that I could feel his breath on my cheek.

What the heck was he doing?

Just when I wanted to pull away, he whispered: “Hmmm, your perfume...it's intoxicating.”

I froze. Then I blushed and quickly pulled away.

He chuckled. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable. I really meant no harm.”

“It's okay, I was just surprised.”

Yoseob appeared next to Dongwoon and shot him another disapproving look. “I think it's my turn now.”

“Of course, Hyung. She's all yours now.”, he said and smirked. Then he walked away.

Totally confused, I started fixing Yoseob's makeup.

“It's better for you to not take his words to heart, Thu Ha-ssi.”, he said after a while.

I frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Just be careful around him.”

I stopped fixing his makeup. “Okay, what's with you and Ha Ni? You guys just said the exact same thing to me.”

“Then maybe you should listen to your friend.”

“It's none of your business, okay? Why can't you both get it?”

“We're just worried.”

“Yeah, but I don't even know you, so how can you be worried for me?”

He gave me a sad smile. “Do we need to know each other to be worried?”

“I....no...okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. It's just that I'm not a child anymore. I can make my own decisions.”

“Of course. I was just giving you an advice.”

“And I have noted it. Can we stop talking about this, please?”

“Okay. And I'm sorry for being nosy.”

I smiled. “No problem.”

I quickly finished fixing his makeup and then he returned to the shooting. Knowing that the stylists are not needed anymore, I gathered my stuff and got ready to leave.

I glanced at Dongwoon and noticed that he was looking at me. He blew me a kiss and continued posing in front of the camera. I blushed and quickly turned around. Then I rushed out of the building before someone could notice what was going on.

No matter what Ha Ni or Yoseob said, Dongwoon was a nice guy. And I would definitely prove them wrong.
