I was about to hung up the phone when I heard a faint voice.

"I'm sorry, Aaron."

I immediately pressed 'End call'.

What was I supposed to do?

She promised.

She promised she would attend high school in Malaysia at least for a year.

Even though it wasn't my school she attended but I felt happy.

She was only miles away.

Not overseas, for once.

I couldn't let her go, again.

I... I fell for her.

When we were in elementary school, in the sixth grade, we were so close we even sat beside each other in class.

JB and JR were still as close as ever with her but they had their own moments, too.

She told me she liked one of our old seniors.

I didn't mind.

I supported her because she supported me when this girl I dated ignored me when we started sixth grade.

Turned out, she just used me to make her old boyfriend jealous, which failed miserably.

Stephanie has been there through thick and thin for me.

Even I would do the same for her.

As the days past by, I grew closer with this girl in our class, Aera.

At first, we were close because we had the same interests and transportation to go to school.

In the end, I thought I fell for her.

Which in return, my friendship with Stephanie grew apart but we still accepted each other's presence and talked a little.

The problem was, Aera already had a boyfriend and their relationship was inseparable.

When it was a few months before our elementary graduation, a rumor was spread among us seniors.

Stephanie Park liked me.

That was the rumor.

I felt... Embarrassed?

Mad?

Disappointed?

I didn't know what I felt.

Even if the rumor was true, why didn't she tell me herself?

And even if she told me herself, I just treated her as a friend.

Nothing more.

I also realized I had given up Aera because her boyfriend was my best guy friend.

One day, I couldn't take it anymore and asked her myself but through a Facebook chat.

"Hey, who do you like now?"

"No one. Why?"

"Honest?"

"Yes. Why? You?"

"You're not lying?"

"Why are you asking?"

"Who do you like?"

"Bye."

"Idiot! Answer me!"

In the end, I didn't get to know the real answer without answering to her who I liked.

I just didn't have the courage to.

The next day, I had to ignore her at school for the whole day.

That night, a Facebook chat suddenly popped open and it showed a message from Stephanie.

"Aaron, why did you ask me yesterday?"

"Heh. To make sure."

"Make sure what?"

"That who do you like."

"Why do you want to know? When I asked you who do

you like yesterday, you immediately went offline."

"I don't like anyone."

"Honest?"

"Yesh!"

"You???"

"Not lying?"

"Yes!"

"You?"

"Why do you want to know?"

"Hmm... Never mind."

"It's hard to talk to you."

"Just say it. And why is it hard?"

"Who do you like?"

"Is it too hard to tell?"

"Very hard."

After a few minutes, she asked again.

"Why do you want to know so bad?"

"Because you said you don't like that senior anymore."

"It's true that I don't like him anymore."

"And?"

"Then, now you like...?"

"You have to answer me with full honesty, first."

"Yes, yes, I don't like anyone."

"Aera?"

"=.="

"I'd rather go to sleep."

"Answer me."

"Truthfully."

"No."

"That's the truth, how much truth do you want more?"

"Okay."

"You???"

I had to wait awhile for her to reply.

"If I like you, what'll you do?"

I was completely and utterly speechless.

Even so, I replied back, not realizing what I wrote.

"WTF? Hold on, is this true or a ridiculous story?!"

She didn't reply as fast as she normally would.

Never the least, she replied.

"Nothing."

"Bye."

After that, even at school, I ignored her.

The rumor was still traveling around but it was quite lesser after our last chat.

She wasn't like her old self, too.

She stopped talking more and just focused on our graduation exam.

I saw loneliness, betrayal and hate in her eyes.

When the results of our graduation exam were out, some cried while some stayed emotionless.

The crying ones were either too happy, because they passed with flying colors, or sad, because they didn't pass or get straight A's.

The emotionless ones were the ones who did or didn't pass but just didn't care about their results.

Some who passed but didn't get straight A's were just acting as it was neutral towards them.

I, for one, got straight A's and was jumping with joy.

My parents were proud I passed with flying colors.

I saw Stephanie on the second floor when I was down below.

She seemed emotionless, like she usually was since our last chat.

Her hands were folded and placed on the corridor wall divider.

She was alone.

She didn't have parents and her guardians were too busy to come.

Even her cousins, who I knew, didn't make it.

JB and JR weren't insight, either.

Through her expression, she was unreadable.

But she didn't cry so it had to be something.

A few days past and I didn't get to know what her results were.

JB and JR kept trying to talk to her but she just shrugged them off.

The day before the last day, everyone took pictures and even signed each other's uniforms since it won't be used again.

I, for one, was excited because to me, that was my last day.

On the actual last day, I had to go to Paris with my family.

While the commotion was in progress, I heard JB and JR talking to Stephanie.

Well, I was sitting beside her on her left so I wasn't actually eavesdropping.

"Come on, just tell us your results. We're leaving for Korea in days. If you won't tell us, you'll definitely won't tell your cousins."

I heard her sigh as JB and JR had pleading eyes.

"What subjects do you think I'm great at?"

"Definitely English."

Stephanie raised her hand and showed her index finger.

"One. What else?"

"You're great at counting and solving problems. So, Maths?"

She raised her middle finger and was already raising fingers.

"Two. Keep going."

"You're a genius when it comes to experiments."

She raised her ring finger.

"Three. Want to guess more?"

JB and JR took a step back.

They turned their backs towards Stephanie and whispered a conversation.

"I think she might have gotten another A."

"But all that's left is Malaysian language paper and paper 2."

"She hates Malaysian language even though she was born with it. But her skills and vocabulary of writing essays has improved."

"I agree. She even knows how to answer the questions without mixing up the meanings."

They both looked at each other and nodded.

They went back to Stephanie and gave her their answer.

"We think you're already increased your skills in Malaysian language so we're saying you're great in Malaysian language, too."

I saw Stephanie smirk and changed it into her normal emotionless expression.

"Good. So to add it up, how many A's do you think I got?"

"A'- Wait! You got A's? You passed with straight A's?"

"Yeah."

Her expressing was as expected, as emotionless as usual, when she replied.

The 'twins' just smiled from ear to ear, happy with their childhood friend's success.

I, for one, smirked in my seat.

"She got straight A's. Just like me. We'll, her English is way impressive than mine and I'm shocked to hear her finally getting an A for Malaysian language."

Remembering this memory, I just felt stupid.

I regretted my words and actions.

I lost her forever.

We couldn't get to chat and keep in contact with each other anymore after the last day of our elementary lives.

Or so we-I thought.

Over the end of the year holidays, I was in Paris with my family to spend time before I enter my middle school years.

But I didn't have fun.

I felt empty.

I missed chatting with Stephanie and texting her random things like I used to.

When January came, I started school with an empty feeling.

I knew she was already in Korea with her cousins.

I tried making friends but the feeling just didn't go away.

That day, on a day of the second week in January, I in my pride and pressed the friend request button, requesting to be friends with her again on Facebook.

Who's she?

The most intelligent, multi-talented and quick-witted person I know, Stephanie Janet Park.

A few weeks later, she accepted my request and send me a message.

At first I thought she forgot the whole 'crush' thing last year and send a message to say 'Hi!'.

I jumped around with excitement in my body that I never knew I had.

But that all stopped when I opened my private message box containing the conversation only we had.

She didn't send me a 'Hi!', a 'Hey!' or even a 'Hello!'.

It was a poem.

A poem wrote in English.

Contains in her poem were her pure words and emotions.

She let it all out into a poem.

A poem, specially for me.

"Long time no see,

Do you really know the real me?

Behind this fake identity,
Lies a true friend in need.

Did you add me because of a reason?
Or did you add me without even knowing?

I've always treated you as a friend,
Nothing more and nothing less.

Because of a misunderstanding heart,
Our friendship fell apart.

Hope to see you someday,
So the words that I want to say,
Will eventually be said,
And our friendship will be whole again.

Take care and good luck.

In a new world you just entered,
New friends are bound to show up,
But remember the good times with had together,
And the times when we say 'Sup!'

- Your Quiet & Mysterious Old Friend -
"

The message wrote.

Like I always was when I hear her talk, I became speechless.

Now I know that she doesn't 'like' me anymore.

But I think... I fell for her.

Now we're 16 and those memories were 3-years ago.

But I'm still in love with her.

It's not like when we were young, when it was only puppy-love.

I'm seriously in love with her and I'm going to get her back after waiting for years.

She will be mine.

And that was Aaron's introduction. Ryan's will be next then I'll continue with the story.

Do you guys like it?

It was hard for me to write this.

The Facebook conversations and poem were all wrote by me. They were actually from mine and my friend's conversations so it was heart breaking for me to show it to the public.

Like I said, this story is partly based on my life so that fight you guys read, it actually happened to me in real life.

I'm totally over it so don't worry. If you don't believe me, ask Annoying_Bug. She knows I actually wrote this with a straight and without any emotions what-so-ever.

So enjoy the story, Annyeong~!
