Can I Stay At Your Place?

Can I Stay At Your Place?

"Hi there Kyuhyun-sshi~"
Kyuhyun almost jumped out of his skin when he heard the voice right behind him. He quickly turned around and his eyes widened as he spotted the pretty man behind him. What the hell was going on? What was this man doing outside his apartment? He didn't even know his name!

Sungmin smiled in amusement at the younger's totally confused face, eyes wide and mouth slightly open. He chuckled and gently pushed past the other and in through the door. "This is where you live? Cool~" He said as he walked into the hall and stepped out of his shoes. He then glanced back and saw that Kyuhyun was still standing in the doorway, staring at him as if he were an alien. He chuckled to himself and walked into what he assumed was the living room. It was filled with...cheap funitures and other stuff. For some reason, he liked it.
He walked over to the big couch and dropped his bags on the coffee table before sitting down on the couch, leaning back comfortably.

He looked up as he heard the door close and only seconds later Kyuhyun walked into the living room. He smiled cheerfully up at the younger. "This is such a comfy couch, I'm sure you would sleep very well on it."
That comment seemed to snap the other out of his confused daze.
"What the are you doing?"

Sungmin tilted his head to the side. "I'm sitting on your couch." He answered with an innocent smile. Really, Kyuhyun was cute like this.
"What are you doing in my apartment? How did you even know I live here? Only Ryeowook and my family knows!" The younger was furrowing his brows, a pout pulling at his lips but he stubbornly resisted.
"Easy, I followed you here." Sungmin said brightly as he put his feet up on the coffee table.
Immediately the other looked suspicious. "You're..not a stalker, are you..?"

That comment made Sungmin throw his head back as he laughed out loud. "No Kyuhyun-sshi, I'm not a stalker, even if it might seem like it."
The other just frowned and crossed his arms over his chest. "What are you doing here? I don't know you."
"Why don't you take that jacket off and sit down with me?" The older suggested with a smile.
"Don't order me around in my own home." Kyuhyun muttered, but still he walked back to the hall and hung his jacket on the only hook.

While waiting Sungmin took his own coat off and hung it over the back of the couch. He then looked around in the room. As far as he could tell the apartment had two bedrooms, but one probably wasn't used since Kyuhyun lived alone. The apartment was also pretty chilly, either Kyuhyun was late with paying the rent or something else was wrong.
He looked up when he heard the younger clear his throat. It was a bit strange seeing Kyuhyun in normal clothes since he had only seen him in uniform earlier.

The younger was wearing a pair of well used pale jeans and a shirt with a knitted sweater over and his hair was a bit messy from the walk home. The boy was handsome, even more in normal clothes and Sungmin just had to smile. "Sit down on the couch Kyuhyun-sshi."
"No, I rather stand." Kyuhyun muttered in answer. "What do you want?"
Sungmin leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees and brought his hands together. Now it was time to ask.

"Can I stay at your place?"
Kyuhyun stared at him as if he suddenly had grown an extra head, and Sungmin decided to go on. "This couch is really comfy, so I can sleep here. And I will of course pay half of the rent, as well as the food and such. And-"
"WHAT THE !?" The younger finally reacted and pointed at him. "You just walks right into my home, and then ask if you can stay here? I don't even know you! I dont know your name, or anything!"

Sungmin smiled sheepishly. "Sorry about that. Please Kyuhyun-sshi, sit down and listen to me. I know this question is crazy, but let me explain."
Kyuhyun hesitated with an unsure expression, then he slowly walked closer to the couch and sat down as far from Sungmin as possible. "Then start explaining."
"First of all, my name is Lee Sungmin. I'm a few years older than you." Sungmin leaned back on the couch comfortably, getting ready to tell his story.

"Do you know what a Tracker is Kyuhyun-sshi?" He asked and looked at the younger with a serious expression. Kyuhyun shook his head, obviously sensing that they were going to talk about something serious.
"A Tracker works for a company that works together with the police. As the title suggests, the Tracker's job is to find missing people. Like a surety agent or bounty hunter. They don't necessary finds criminals, but it can be runaway kids, just missing peoples and kidnapped persons. You following so far?"

Kyuhyun slowly nodded his head. "And you're a Tracker?" He asked and Sungmin smiled a little.
"You catch on fast Kyuhyun-sshi. Yes, I work as a Tracker. I can't tell you much about my current case, but I'm tracking a very dangerous criminal and needs to find him as soon as possible." He didn't get further before the younger interrupted.
"Do you have weapons in those?" He pointed at Sungmin's bags and the older smiled slightly.
He patted the bigger bag. "Not in this one, this is filled with what you need when you are staying somewhere. But this one however." He said and pointed at the smaller. "This one contains a sniper rifle and a Smith & Wesson of the type that the police usually uses."

He watched as the younger's eyes widened before a curious look overtook the boy's face. "Can I look at them?"
Sungmin chuckled. "Sure, I can show you the guns. But later. I'm not done talking." Kyuhyun looked back at him. "I have a budget of money to use for staying at hotels and such when I'm working on a case. But its not very big, and this case is taking a lot of time for me. It's getting too expensive to live at a hotel. So, I need to get my hands on a cheap apartment."

"However, getting a cheap apartment in this part of the city at this time of the year is close to impossible. So I had to come up with another solution."
Kyuhyun tilted his head slightly to the side. "And then you asked if I lived with my family to find out if I lived by myself in an apartment. I'm a young boy that's working as a waiter, so I can't have a lot of money, therefore I probably live in a cheap apartment. So you thought that maybe you could talk me into letting you live here if you helped me by paying half of the rent resulting in you getting a cheap place to stay at, and I gets more money to spend on other things."

Sungmin's eyes widened slightly in surprise. The boy was smart! He had not expected to get his own situation told by the younger. "Yeah, that's sort of how it is."
"If I let you live here, I will contribute in helping to catch a criminal?" Kyuhyun asked, now leaning back in the couch in a more relaxed way.
Sungmin nodded his head. "Yes, you can see it that way. This is also the only solution for my money problem I can come up with right now."

Kyuhyun abruptly got to his feet with a thoughtful look. "I need to think this over." With that he walked into one of the bedrooms and closed the door, leaving Sungmin alone in the living room.
Sungmin smiled. He liked the boy even more now. He didn't seem frightened by his job or that he had two deadly weapons in the bag by his feet. He was calm and quite smart, also something Sungmin appreciated.

He got to his feet and stretched his body with a sigh. All he could do now was wait. He walked over to the balcony door and opened it and stepped out on the tiny balcony. This was really his only solution for his problem. None of his friends lived around here so he could stay with them, and his own apartment were in the totally wrong part of the city. He leaned forward with his arms resting on the railing and looked around. Even if this particulary apartment area wasn't fancy at all, Kyuhyun still had a breath taking view over the city. He immediately liked it.

A few minutes later he heard Kyuhyun step out on the balcony. The younger leaned back with his back against the railing and looked at him. Sungmin looked back at him with a curious expression, wondering what the answer would be.
"I'm probably crazy." Kyuhyun started and crossed his arms over his chest. "But I'll let you stay here. But I have a few conditions."
Sungmin smiled and nodded his head. "I didn't expect anything else."

"You have to pay half the rent like you said. I only have one bed, the other bedroom is my computer room. So you will have to sleep on the couch. I guess you could fix a bed if you wants to. I won't stop you."
Sungmin simply nodded his head again, agreeing to those conditions.
"There's only one bathroom so we'll have to share fairly. And I can't cook at all, so don't expect any home cooked food."

"Don't worry about that. I can cook, so I'll be in charge of food." Sungmin said with a smile, making the younger's eyes light up. He was probably tired of take-out food.
Sungmin couldn't believe his own luck, that Kyuhyun really had agreed to it. He could sleep on the couch, no problem. The bathroom part might get a little annoying, but he could stand it.
He could feel a broad smile spread over his face, making the younger smile a little as well.

"Thank you so much Kyuhyun-sshi, it'll be a great help that I can live here. And I can focus on my case when you work. Do you have noisy neighbours?"
The younger shook his head. "No, I never hear anything from them. It's like they're not even there. And skip the sshi part, it sounds so stiff."
Sungmin smiled softly. "Okey then Kyuhyun-ah. It's going to be interesting being your roommate for some time."
"I feel the same way, Sungmin..hyung."

***

After that Kyuhyun had a tour of the small apartment, showing the minimal bathroom, the kitchen and the two bedrooms. Sungmin couldn't help but be impressed by the youngers computer room. He asked the younger if he was good with computers and had gotten the answer that the younger could write his own programs if he wanted.
So in other words, yes, Kyuhyun was really good with computers.

As Kyuhyun was digging for a blanket and pillow in the closet for Sungmin he also explained a few things;
It was chilly in the apartment because the building's heating system was in need of repairs again.
Don't take the lift, it will stop halfway or not move at all.
Watch out for the old lady on the first floor, she loves to touch young boys' butts.
And watch out for Mr Hwang's dog, its mad.

When Sungmin was fixing the couch and arranging his laptop on the coffee table he felt that Kyuhyun sat down beside him. He turned his head and saw that the younger was looking at him intently. "Yes?" He asked, wondering what the other wanted.
"You said that you would show me your guns." Kyuhyun said, childish curiousity in his eyes.
The older just chuckled and nodded his head and reached for the bag with the guns.

He opened it and retrieved a small box, which he handed to the younger. Slowly Kyuhyun opened the box and stared at the handgun within. "Can I pick it up?" He asked with twinkling eyes making Sungmin smile and nod his head.
Carefully Kyuhyun picked the gun up and held it in his hand. He then stretched his arm out with an amazed look. "It's so light."
"What did you expect? It can't be too heavy if you're supposed to be able to shoot with one hand." The older commented with a smile.

After having studied the gun properly Kyuhyun put it back in the box and placed it on the coffee table. Then he looked back at Sungmin's bag. The older smiled and picked the much bigger case up. He placed it in his lap and opened it. "This is a long range sniper rifle. It can easily take down targets from a great distance. Not one of my favourites, but I might need it."
The younger moved closer and looked down in the case with a look of awe. "Can I touch it?"
"No, let this one be." Sungmin said and closed the case again before placing it on the floor and pushing it under the couch. Kyuhyun sighed in disappointment.

Sungmin smiled. "Maybe some other time. But now I have a phone call to make, if you excuse me?"
"Fine, I'm going to take a shower." Kyuhyun stated and got off the couch and walked over to the small bathroom.
When left alone the older picked his phone up and called his little brother, and got through on the first try.
"Hyung, that's you?" Hyukjae's voice sounded tired, and Sungmin couldn't help but feel a bit worried.
"I'm calling with good news." He said and flopped down on his back.

"You caught him? You found him?" Hyukjae sounded more excited now.
Sungmin smiled. "No, I'm sorry. But I have managed to fix a place to stay. I'm rooming with a guy in a cheap apartment, its perfect."
"It is? You told the guy about your job? Minnie, you can't do that."
"Take it easy Hyukkie. I only told him that I'm a Tracker, and that I needed a place to stay at. I never told him anything about the case, except that the person I'm tracking is a dangerous criminal. I won't drag him into anything."
He could hear the reluctance in Hyukjae's voice. "Okey, I guess its alright then."
"It is. I believe my stay here will be interesting."
Sungmin smiled, for that was indeed what he thought.
