Song For Chapter: Rain Drop By IU
Jae In POV
I sat there stunned at how this worked out. Then my eyes
met the Gayoon’s. I got the chills. I quickly turned my
head and noticed Dongho was sitting in his seat.
“How can something like this actually happen to me?” I
thought to myself. Then I sighed.
This was the first time I dozed off in class. The school
bell to tell us that it was break and one more period
before lunch began. Everyone hovered over Dongho. Before
someone got the chance to tell me to move over, I walked
out the room and sat on a stair outside. I put my
earphones on, it was Rain Drop by IU. The song made me
feel relaxed until I noticed Dongho was sitting about two
feet away from me.
“Glad you notice I’m here.” He said smiling. I heard him
in the background of my song. But I didn’t look directly
at him because I knew there is someone watching and it
will eventually get into the ears of Gayoon.
“You shouldn’t be here.” I told him, still not looking.
“Why not? It’s not like you’re forbidden to do so?”
“Yes it it.”
“Come on, stop playing with me. It’s not like your some
loner in the school.”
“You guessed correctly. I am a loner.” I said as I have
him a glare. His face stiffen as I said it. “No need to
say sorry. It’s my daily life in school, you don’t need to
feel bad. All you need to do is keep your mouth shut about
what you know and did with me and keep away from me.”
“You are mad…”
“I’m not so don’t worry. I’m going back before someone
sees me with you.” I said as I got up and turned to leave.
When I pulled my earphones out of my ear, I saw Gayoon
with Hyunah and Soyeon.
“Is anyone around?” Gayoon asked Hyunah and Soyeon.
“Nope.” Hyunah and Soyeon said in sync. Then a slap.
“I thought you might smart to tell by now. Dongho is the
hot icon of school right now. How dare a pathetic nerd
like you sit by him and talk?” Gayoon said to me.
“Sorry. I won’t do it anymore.” I said and turned to walk
away. I gave him a glare.
I dozed off through the rest of school. I was getting
ready to leave when Suzy came up.
“Ya! Are you going to the hide out today?” Suzy said
happily. She was the only friend I had.
“If you want to, sure.” I said to her with a smile.
“Yes! I wanted to miss out on hakwon so badly.”
“Let’s go.”
“Well, Soohyun said he will meet us there with one of his
friend. It’s okay right?”
“Suzy! You’re suppose to tell me this before you say yes
to him.”
“I’m sorry. I know but he’s my boyfriend. I can’t help but
doing things like that for him.”
“You guys make me sick.” I got up and walked towards the
door. Suzy followed and linked arms with me.
“But you still love us.” Suzy said loud and proud.
We got to my secret hide out. It’s not far from school but
it’s hard to find. It’s a storage room that is covered by
trees.
“Is anyone around?” Suzy said cautiously.
“No, hurry up before anyone does.” I whispered back
pushing her into a bush opening behind a big garbage dump.
“Soohyunah~!” I heard Suzy yell out.
“You know you should be quiet still.” I said as I made my
way out. when I looked up Soohyun and Suzy was hugging.
Then I saw Dongho.
“Why are you here?” I said with a nasty attitude.
“I invited him. He’s my friend even before he transferred
here.” Soohyun interrupted my stare at Dongho.
“Why don’t we go change, Jae In?” Suzy said to break up
the fight before it started.
“Fine.” I turned and walked into my storage room. In the
room, there was only silence. I didn’t now why but I felt
a sudden rage as soon as I saw him.
“Jae In ah... Is something wrong?” Suzy sounded concerned.k
“Nothing is wrong. Don’t worry.” I replied with a smile.
“Okay then. Soohyunah~!” Suzy smiled back and ran to the
door. When I stepped out Suzy was already in Soohyun’s
arms.
“You guys look nice together.” Dongho complimented them.
Suzy giggled.
“Hey Jae In, why don’t you show Dongho around. I didn’t
show him. “Soohyun yelled to me after he saw me.
“Fine.” I hand gestured to him to come. We walked in.
“This is all there is?” Dongho said amused at how such a
storage can turn into a simple room where three kids can
hang out.
“Yeah this is all. You look around. I’m going to go back
to Soohyun and Suzy.” I said as i started to walk away.
But when I got a few steps away, he grabbed my arm.
“Are you mad?” he asked.
“What and why would I be mad at you?” I answered back.
“Uhm... You know the slap today and the kiss last time...”
his voice trailed off a little.
“I’m not mad...” my voice was low. “The slap wasn’t your
fault. I should’ve walked away as soon as I notice you
were there.”
“Then you are mad about the kiss.”
“I’m not mad.” my voice got louder.
“Yes you are.”
“Okay. I am. This not apply to you but that was my first
kiss. I got my first kiss from a boy that i doubted I
would meet again. I don’t think you would be fine with
that if it was you!” My eyes started to tear up. When I
noticed this, I turned away.
“I didn’t know that. I felt so sorry afterwards but you
wouldn’t even turn around.”
“It doesn’t matter anymore.” I began to walk. He grabbed
my arms again. “let go of me. Don’t ever touch me again!”
“I just want to talk this out.” He said as he gave my arm
a pull. When he pulled, I tripped on the crack on the
floor. I fell right on top of him. Lucky he fell on the
mat. But the important thing was we... kissed... again...
“Maybe... we are destined to be together...”
