A follow up drabble of Muffin War.  I was inspired after the song which was used for a tv commercial ad for a bug spray, weirdly played inside my head one slow afternoon...since I converted the first part into a Daragon version, why not the second part? XD....

Dara and Jiyong became closer than ever, since the great plan of Bom to make Jiyong jealous was executed. In fact, the two became almost inseparable.



One lazy, summer afternoon



"So, what do you want to do?" Jiyong asks Dara, who has her head leaning on his shoulder as they sit idly on the couch


It took some time before Dara was able to answer. Since the two of them did every activity one can do during the summer season. Almost.



"There's still one thing we haven't done yet."  Dara says in a quiet voice.


I-is she saying that we...we...we

"W-What?" Jiyong stutters at the first thought that had entered his mind.  His heart beat doubling, as he waits for Dara's answer


Dara raises her head from Jiyong's shoulders and faces him and slowly smiles. This made his eyes stare at Dara's pink, dewy lips, recalling the kiss they shared at the pet shop.


Dee, please stop torturing me!


"Let's bake some muffins" She exclaims with a smile.


"Muffins?" Jiyong releases the breath he has been holding. He feels relieved as Dara nodded her assent. But a part of him was also bit disappointed. "Right. Muffins."

Later in the kitchen, after all the ingredients were measured, and the tools set-up.



"I...uh don't know how to do this." Jiyong says quietly, looking adorable in his matching yellow apron and bandana



Dara pats his back "Don't worry. I'll guide you. You'll be fine. Just trust me ok?"




"Ok." Jiyong glances upwards sending a prayer to the heavens. His accomplishments in the kitchen consist of pouring hot water on a cup or bowl of instant noodles or dialing for delivery.



"Ready?" Dara asks to which he answers with a hesitant nod.



"First, you need to crack the eggs and start separating the yolk from the whites" Dara proceeds in showing how it's done as she barks the instructions to Jiyong.



It took several tries and a few more eggs, before Jiyong was able to successfully separate the white from the yolk.  He glances over at Dara for approval, showing the contents of his mixing bowl.



"See? I told you, it's easy. Ok, next we need to combine all the dry ingredients. We do this by sifting."



Dara once again demonstrates to Jiyong how it's done. When it was his time to try, he flicked the sieve too hard, a cloud of smoke covered the two of them. After it subsided, they began laughing at how silly their faces look, covered with flour.


The atmosphere became relaxed after that. Until they got to the point where Jiyong, as instructed by Dara, began beating the egg whites.



Dara observes how Jiyong is concentrated on the task at hand.



Aaaw~ he really looks cute!


She then notices Jiyong encountering some difficulties with the egg whites. She walks over to his side "You need to be firm with it" Dara says as soon as she reached his side.


"Huh? What do you mean by firm?"


"Here, I'll show you." Dara clasps Jiyong's hand which holds the wire whisk.

"I'll just go get my purse inside my room, honey." Bom arrives with Seunghyun "I'll be quick." Placing a chaste kiss on Seunghyun's cheek before she walks off.

Bom is heading straight to where her room is, but stops in the middle once she hears muffled voices coming from the kitchen.

Bom mumbles "Eh?"  Tiptoeing closely to the kitchen entrance, trying her best to listen intently for the weird sounds.          

Ssantoki?  And Jiyong?!?

"Honey?" Seunghyun calls out, he has already followed, it's been ten minutes since Bom left him by the living room.  He almost let out a snicker, to see Bom plastered to the wall, sneaking like a spy, a ninja or a detective. 

"Sssshhh.." Bom shushed him and then in a low voice "Honey, listen!" 


"Jiyong, keep a firm grip on it. We won't finish this on time" It was Dara's voice, laced with frustration


Jiyong also sounds frustrated "But it's so slippery!"


"Here, let me help you."


"Okay."


After a few minutes of hearing labored breathing and grunts.


"See? I told you just have a firm grip on it and we'll get some results. It's now stiff"  Dara sounds triumphant


"Never imagined those two are into these stuff"  Seunghyun leans over and whispers to Bom "And we haven't even thought about that."

"OMG! OMG! These two are so busted!" Bom, however, is more preoccupied with what naughty stuff Dara and Jiyong is probably doing inside the kitchen.

Dara and Jiyong stare at the muffins that they've finished icing.  The two of them are happy with the results. To the point, that they were smiling goofily at each other. Until their gazes locked. Slowly, Jiyong lowers his head.  Dara closes her eyes. And with only a few more inches separating their lips.....


Bom quickly enters the kitchen and exclaims "Aha! What do you think you're doing....?"


Broken from their trance, Dara and Jiyong straighten up, both looking flustered at almost being caught kissing.   When Dara's eyes land on the muffins that Jiyong with a little help from her, had successfully made.

"We're making muffins" Jiyong answers matter of factly.

"Muffins?" Bom utters in disbelief. Seunghyun is busy laughing his head off by the entrance.


"Yeah, muffins." Dara always the innocent, repeats with a smile as she points to the muffins sitting on top of the cooling rack, still oblivious to what Bom actually meant.
