So Eun knew how Joon had felt about her, but she didn’t want to avoid it. She was in the same class with him, and had felt she couldn’t avoid him, even if she wanted to. She decides to tell him she had a fiancé already, and would get married right after graduating. She left him heartbroken. Though after coming from his trip to Seoul, he finds out Kim Bum is only her boyfriend, and he still has a chance with her. Since Joon’s family is wealthier than Kim Bum in the states, and is equally as wealthy as him in Korea, So Eun’s mother decides to give So Eun’s hand in marriage to Kim Joon, thinking marrying into a richer family, would be better for her daughter’s future, and since Joon’s father had saved So Eun’s mother twenty years ago, she thinks this is the best way to repay him for saving her life.
