Embark On A Train Ride

The plane ride from the royal castle to the nearest train station was swift and thrifty. High-tech plane slowing into an easy descent and breaks squealing upon contact with the ground, it halted into a standstill on the lane. Emblazoned on the hull of the plane was the royal hexagonal insignia E-X-O; the symbol was like a banner to the onlooking Exotics, signaling that their royals have arrived.

The majority of Exotics were civil people with affable dispositions. In the presence of the royal family, they were expressively happy, yes, but knew their limits. Extreme displays of aggressive or frenzied actions meant they would be warded off or possibly apprehended. Therefore, when the twelve EXO princes and their fiancé unboarded the plane and were escorted to the train station, the Exotics toned down their delight and stayed a safe distance away, gawking and exclaiming. The people saw you and your crew enter the station’s waiting platform, a taped line marking the non-trespassing area. You were surrounded by buff guards, stuck between Yifan and Suho who held your hands.

“Isn’t that Princess Aris with the EXO princes?”

“It is! She’s adorable!”

“OVER HERE, PRINCESS ARIS!”

Just before you boarded the train, you edged around your bulky-framed guards and freed your hand from Suho’s grasp so you could wave at the jittery crowd gathered by the closed-off waiting area.

“Look! Look! She waved at us!”

The infectious, upbeat atmosphere made you smile. You ducked inside the train while your fiancés took a brief moment to greet their people. Moments later, the door panel was locked and everyone was situated in the furnished interior of the train.

“Your people are as lively as ever,” you commented, setting your bag at your feet as you relaxed on the cushioned seats.

“They weally are,” Tao agreed distractedly, kneeling on the seating to stare out the windows with Kai and Sehun. Their round, child-like eyes were full of interest as the scene flew by. The train swiftly pulled out of the station and zoomed out of town.

“Sit down before the train stops and you lurch forward,” Yifan chided them, who sat across the aisle from you. Pouting, the youngest three repositioned themselves in the proper sitting manner.

“Here, here!” Kyungsoo piped up and ped his bag. Inside was a chock-full of colorfully-wrapped candy. “I brought sweet treats!”

“Ooh!” Chanyeol and Baekhyun were the first to pounce. The candy-loving tykes fought for their favorite candies. Suho and Yixing helped calm them down.

“We shouldn’t be eating so many sweets,” Suho said uneasily, fidgeting.

Xiumin rolled his eyes, shamelessly stuffing his mouth full of sugary goodness. “Ease up, Joonmyun. We’re just celebrating our time with Aris.”

You smiled sheepishly, accepting the handful of candy Kyungsoo shyly handed to you. “Thank you so much, Prince Kyungsoo. I do have a sweet tooth,” you admitted coyly. That brought a bubbly smile on Kyungsoo’s adorable face. You unwrapped one candy and held it out towards Chen who sat on your left. “Say ‘ah’!”

His eyes went as wide as saucers, cheeks dusted with pink. He blinked dazedly and opened his mouth to eat the offered sweet.

“Lucky, ChenChen!” whined Kai, kicking his legs out sulkily. The others also flared with jealousy.

“Thank you, Princess,” Chen mumbled, embarrassed by such an outward display. Your actions were sweeter than the candy.

You popped one candy in your mouth then unwrapped another, but this time offered it to Sehun. “Here, open wide, Sehunnie!”

The dreaminess in Sehun’s eyes was replaced with sheer joy. The way you said his nickname adorably made his heart dance. He opened his mouth, willingly let you feed him. “Yummy!”

“Ooh, let me feed you!” Baekhyun suggested sunnily. He lopped over to your side and held a candy to your pink lips. “Open wiiiide,” he sang, holding the note.

You chuckled in amusement and ate the candy. You beamed at Baekhyun who outmatched your smile. He was just like sunshine!

“I think you’re blinding her, Baekhyunnie,” Yifan joked in a dry tone. “Tone down the brightness.”

“I’m not using my powers!” protested the light prince.

You giggled, the sound like musical bells. No matter what they did, the princes were able to make you laugh, even yet, distract you from your problems.

After the rave with the snacks, everyone simmered down enough to talk.

“So, we’re heading to the sea,” you stated conversationally.

Suho nodded, answering the obvious since the sea—actually the ocean—was his territory. “Yes. It’s hard to access the sea—because of the mountains in the north and the south, and volcano and islands in the east. The west is a common entrance to reach the sea, but you have to go through the forests. The entryway we’re using involves the train passing through the hills and mountains overland—which are Baekhyun’s and Kyungsoo’s territories.”

“Don’t forget you’re under my sky,” Chen remarked pointedly, and Suho nodded again. Suho’s speech kind of resembled yours. Intellectual and smooth—which you understood perfectly.

Suho leaned closer to you so you could hear him whisper, “But honestly, I think a trip to the Southern Sea is better worth your time. You’ll see why.”

Your interest was undeniably piqued. “Really? Now I want to hurry up and get there.”

From his seat two spots away, Luhan grouched to himself inwardly. The setting of the Southern Sea will be so romantic. Aris might fall for Joonmyun. I don’t like it at all. Wish we could skip over to my forest. I need to think of ways to win Aris over...

Struck with the same complication, Yifan and Yixing also worried over the details. Yifan shrugged the dilemma off, prepared with ways for you and him to be extremely close for comfort. Yixing hoped Suho didn’t completely charm you with the beach and ocean because his domain—the grasslands—wasn’t as nearly as impressive.

Surprisingly, even Chanyeol and Baekhyun were ruminating over how to impress you. Baekhyun glanced out the windows and softly smiled. Yeah, he had some ideas...

You’ll love me the most, Aris.
