Foreword
Prologue
(Third Person POV)
Voices echoed in the royal conference room. The voices carried from the high ornate ceiling to the polished tile floor.
"The demons are threatening the balance once again!" vented one man vehemently. "They will not stop disturbing the peace! Just why? We should have banished all of them to the Doomworld!" He slammed his fist on the stone table before him.
"What do you expect?" retorted one women impatiently. "It has been nearly three centuries since the last Peacemaker had made truce with them. Now they dare taunt us about imbalance? They are the ones who-"
"Enough."
The melodious, feminine voice was crisp and demanding. All chatters ceased and gazes stared up at the large glowing orb perched upon a pillow on the royal pedestal. The pedestal was carved of crystal that reflected the colors of the rainbow, the simple yet elegant designed painted in liquid gold and silver, wrapped in vines and leaves giving an amorous scent.
"We did not plan this meeting to complain and banter," the lovely voice emitted from the orb. "We assembled here to discuss the future."
"What do you mean, My Lady?" asked one women, puzzled.
"As you all know, demons have been more unsettling with the rules written nearly three centuries ago," said the magnificent voice, tone leveled. "Every generation becomes more and more ruthless, growing out from the boundaries that rule them. The Demon King's essence is becoming stronger piece by piece, day by day. One day, he will rise again to take his revenge on the Peacemaker...and our world and Earth."
"Why would he want to take revenge on the Peacemaker?" questioned a man skeptically. "The last Peacemaker died three centuries ago to seal him - the Demon King - away and fix the balance between Earth and the Reversed World."
The orb brightened slightly. A beautiful, warm light. "The Peacemaker...has been reborn again."
Loud, astonished gasps rang throughout the room.
"Then we have hope!" exclaimed someone. "The Peacemaker will ensure the seal on the Demon King will never break and order the demons to behave."
The orb's bright brilliance faded for a moment. "Not exactly, youngling. The Peacemaker...is not even from our world."
"What?" cried out a women. "But-but all past Peacemakers are from the Reversed World! It has been this way since the beginning of time!"
"The Demon King's subjects know of this news as well," whispered the leading voice. Sad and mourning. "He plans to take the Peacemaker's life and use it to escape the dwelling of his imprisonment. Then chaos will be let loose before the reincarnation of the next Peacemaker. We must act accordingly and end this tension between our kind before it's too late. I have foreseen the Peacemaker as a human amongst Earth."
"What do you suppose we do, Glorious One?" requested someone. "Earth has many human girls, how do we find the correct child?"
The sunlight beamed through the windows more brightly. The magical orb glistened in the sun rays. "It is time to send our Guardians to find our Peacemaker. She must be found to prevent this disaster."
"As you wish, Mother Almighty," chorused the congregation.
The orb shone like the colorful light of a galaxy. "Call the Guardians."

(Kim Youngmin's POV)
When all seem to quiet down in the conference room, he cleared his throat and all eyes trained themselves on the man. So many young men and women, even teenagers, were gathered around the long table or stood regally along the wall.
"If I can receive your undivided attention," he said passively, "we have some important issues to discuss. The Court has finally agreed to initialize something."
"Does this have to do with the upcoming war?" blurted out one young guardian.
Youngmin silenced the young guardian with a stern, leveled stare. "Yes, partially, more like to prevent the war if possible. The Court has finally agreed, with the blessing of Mother Almighty, that your generation of guardians will search for the Peacemaker on Earth."
"Earth?!" exclaimed one guardian incredulously. "But all previous Peacemakers were born here in the Reversed World!"
"Be quiet," hushed the guardian's group leader, "and listen."
Youngmin continued smoothly, "You will be sent to search for her, meaning you will have to be accustomed to live as a human. It is unsure the amount of time you will be on Earth. Expect decades if you have to."
"Will we be allowed to travel back and forth from here to Earth?" asked one curious guardian.
"As long as you follow through procedures and codes," he replied. "You will be further instructed later, but it is crucial you find the Peacemaker as quickly as possible so she can keep the balance of both the worlds."
Someone raised their hand. "How will we know it's her?"
"Her touch," he replied simply. "Her scent. Her voice. Everything about her will make you react not of a Human's sense, but an Inhuman's. As a Peacemaker, she holds the connection to Mother Almighty. Do not forget that. You will know it's her."
"When will we begin our...quest?" inquired a guardian.
Youngmin stood up. "As soon as possible."

~Fifteen years later~
(Alaina's POV)
My footsteps crunched on the gravel road as I traveled closer to town. Head ducked and hands stuffed in pockets, I discreetly made my way to a familiar outer street, walking parallel to a concrete wall that enclosed a certain location I was heading to. Not many people took any notice of me - thinking I was some teenager spending her weekend in town. But, like it was a will of mine, I was invisible to them. Once people saw me, I was gone.
The road became more old, the clobberstones all dirty and chipped. Up ahead, I saw an old sign and mailbox.
The orphanage.
Over the wall, I could hear kids playing and giggling at each other as they played. They loved the weekend afternoons. I saw the entrance and walked in, finally dropping the quiet facade. A soft smile laced my lips.
"A-chan!" a girl squealed happily when she spotted me. She and some other children bounded towards me and wrapped their short, grabby hands around my waist. This was one of the only form of contact I ever allowed for myself. Since I wore long-sleeves and jeans, there was no skinship, meaning I wouldn't have those strange emotional changes or sudden flashbacks.
I knelt down so I was to the children's eye level. My composed face melted into a tender expression. Only for the children to see. "Hey, guys. Having fun?"
They bobbed their heads up and down eagerly. "Hai! Play with us, nee-chan!"
I also nodded. That was why I was even here. The place I belonged to.
I am an orphan.
