Honor Among Thieves

Come and gather, my children of the night.

or some, the night is something to fear. They stay inside and lock their doors, trying to keep whatever may lurk in the darkness away from them. However, a locked door does little to deter these creatures. These creatures, who are born of darkness, know their way around locks. Some of these individuals are so stealthy that you never know that they were there. Some even leave a calling card for you in the morning. And some keep you from seeing the morning.

Thieves. Assassins. Courtesans. These Masters and Mistresses of the night run the city, even if others won't acknowledge it. And those that do accept this, don't know who they are. These children of the night look like everyone else, and that's the point. They work separately from one another and can rarely be found in the same location... Except for Death's Hall.

Don't let the name frighten you. It's simply the name of a little tavern. This little tavern doesn't appear on any map, though, but these children of the night know it's location by heart. They gather here and share their stories and triumphs. Laws do not pass the gate of this tavern and nothing leaves. It's a safe haven and has been that way longer than anyone can remember. No law enforcement has every found Death's Hall because it is only those that have loved the stars too fondly to be afraid of the dark who can find it.

Are the new detectives afraid of the dark? Or, are they, too, fond of the stars?
