Minsoo plants himself in front of the computer, surfing the internet for the places he would want to visit while in Japan. Sure he already has a few on his list, but having the thought that Hyun Hae will be accompanying him throughout his wandering, he wants to search for the best places to go to—the most fun, interesting, and exciting ones.

Remembering the scene earlier, he has a small smile playing on his lips.

“Minsoo-kun, it’s your third day here now but you didn’t get out to enjoy your trip, what are your plans?”, Haruhi kindly asked, they’re still in the dining table. Though Hyun Hae has finished eating, they stayed there, the three of them, talking about random things when Haruhi suddenly asked him this.

“Uhm, about that, I already have a list to do but I am waiting for a specific day to go to that specific event, actually, it’s tomorrow, so, my adventure will start tomorrow”, he explains, a little ecstatic that he’ll get to do the very thing that sent him here.

“Talking about the cosplay convention?”, Hyun Hae said with a smile.

He looked at her, smiling, expectant. He nods.

“Oh, so you’re into that thing too, Minsoo-kun? Hyun Hae-chan has been attending that event for how many years now?” she asks her daughter.

“Three, I guess, yes, three”, she said. “And always has been fun, I’m expecting this time to be fun, too, I can’t wait”, she slightly giggles in excitement.

Minsoo couldn’t help but smile, does this mean we’re going together? That’s great!

“It’s better if we get there by afternoon, the venue never gets full before that, and you wouldn’t enjoy waiting for hours, I’ve experienced it, not fun at all.”

He’s beaming. So, his expectations are met. They’re going there together! He’s more excited now.

“Where else do you wanna go?”, Hyun Hae asks afterwards, bursting the early celebration in his head.

“Oh”, he said, thinking of the things he has listed to do and go to when he get to Tokyo. “I wanna see the life-size Gundam, then the cat café, then the manga museum, then experience one of the hot springs that Japan boasts of”, his eyes are sparkling with glee as he talks about his planned activities.

Hyun Hae and Haruhi, watched him with happy eyes.

“You seem to be in a good mood now, Minsoo-kun. Well, I hope you can go to all those places and have your Japan experience great. Hyun Hae-chan shall accompany you so you wouldn’t lose precious time figuring out how to get from one place to another”, Haruhi’s eyes are smiling as she said this, before standing up and attend to her own businesses in the house.

“Good thing your list is in the realms of reality, we can fulfill mostl of those, you’ll see”, Hyun Hae said.

“What do you mean by ‘in the realms of reality’?, he asks, full of curiosity as to what she meant by that.

“Well, you see, other tourists just pick the things that interests them, thinking they can go to those places in a certain amount of time, not thinking if it would be possible, considering the distances, money, and even time to get all of those things done, and all of those places covered. Good thing you did your research and those things you mentioned are all in Tokyo. Let’s give it three days, okay? I also have places I wanna show you, they’re all great, you’ll love it!”, she finished in high spirits that left Minsoo more excited. Not only is she accompanying him in the cosplay convention, but will also show him around for the next three days. Yes!

The two of us, around Tokyo, for three days, what more could be better than this? he thought.

It’s already mid afternoon and Minsoo is still on the internet, browsing pictures of scenes he can find in Japan. The places to eat and places to chill out to after the long day of walking around, he has also seen the souvenir shops where he’ll buy things for his mom, sisters, and dad when he get back to Korea. There are a lot of things, he’s almost overwhelmed by ideas but he’s loving it so much he can’t help but smile.

The speakers in Hyun Hae’s room is blazing with the type of music he deems as rock. The drums are pounding, the electric guitars are crying electric melodies, and the vocalist is screaming a hoarse scream, he felt as though it’s his throat that’s being scratched. The music started moments after Hyun Hae retires back to her room after breakfast. Haruhi told Minsoo that that’s how Hyun Hae sleeps during the day so she couldn’t hear people talking around her as she sleeps.

A new song has just started, and again, it’s loud with electric sound and screaming and growling when Kenichi and Kenji barged in.

“Oh, Hyun Hae-chan is asleep?” Kenji immediately observes.

“Since when?” Kenichi asked Minsoo who now shuts down the computer and faces the two.

“Since nine, nine thirty, I guess”, he answered.

“It’s been hours, it’ll be okay then”, Kenichi flashed a naughty look at Minsoo then to his younger brother. They both nodded leaving Minsoo with a confused look.

As if reading his thoughts, Kenji said, “Do you know how to wake the princess up? She easily wakes up to sudden noises though, but because she has her shield on, and I’m talking about the loud music, which is her favorite band by the way, we do this”, he walked to the main electrical switch in the house and turned it off by pulling the lever down.

The two brothers are grinning with each other as though they have won for the grand prize and is awaiting for the MC to hand it to them. Minoo just sat there, waiting for something to happen. “So, she’ll wake up with that?” he asks, still confused.

“You’ll see”, Kenji said, his entertained smile still on his face.

A loud scream from Hyun Hae cut Minsoo’s confusion all at once. “Ma!” she exclaimed from inside her room. They heard her door open with a loud bang, before they saw her emerge from her bedroom. “Is the electricity out?” she shouts. Her hair falls loosely all over her back, she’s barefoot, sluggish, and a deep frown is evident on her irritated but sleepy face.

It’s a spectacle for the brothers as they laugh upon seeing her. Hearing them laugh, Hyun Hae sharply turned to face the laughing boys, and with a death glare, he walked fast to her two cousins. “It’s you, two!”

Kenji is preparing his self for the punch that Hyun Hae will definitely launch at him; she always do so whenever she find out that they have played a trick on her. But instead of that, Hyun Hae gently bumps her head on his chest, “Niichan, my head is heavy, I wanna sleep some more”, he can hear the pout in his cousin’s voice.

“Aww, you’re making me feel bad for waking you, I’m expecting a punch, you know”, Kenji playfully said.

Hyun Hae then started punching his chest, but without force, her head still buried on her cousin’s chest. “Niichan, you owe me my precious sleep now, you have to put me to sleep now”, her pout is still evident in her voice.

“Aww, our baby cousin is acting like a baby now, eh?” Kenichi couldn’t help but smile at the cute scene he beholds in front of him. Minsoo is silently watching out for things to happen.

“Niichan, put me to sleep now, you know what to do, or else, I’ll be mad at you and wouldn’t talk to you for the rest of my stay here”, she threatens but her voice lacked conviction ‘cause of the lazy way she has delivered it.

Kenji is smiling when he scoops Hyun Hae up and put her on the sofa by the living room. She placed her gently on the length of it before sitting himself and putting Hyun Hae’s head on both his lap. He took the mass of her hair and gently brushes his fingers through its length, she smiles. This is a way to lull her; she loves the feeling when her hair is being brushed gently. A smile is evident on her face though her eyes are closed when she called out, “Kenichi niichan, you too, I know you’re part of that evil plan, come here”, still smiling, she orders.

Laughing a little, Kenichi went through the sweet requests of his cousin. He knows exactly what she wanted him to do. He positions himself at her foot, lifts it up and put both on his lap. “Aish, this kid never would change, eh?”

“You bet, but we love her this way”, Kenji agrees, smiling.

Minsoo is just watching at his seat. He feels happy with a pint of envy.
