Getting There

Unexpected Love

Sorry for the SUPER late update.

Merry late Christmas and hope you all had a nice holiday. :)

P.S. Don't think I'll ever abandon this story, okay?

"Alright, let's take La Chata from the top," the production direction said through a megaphone as the five members of f(x) assembled on stage in the correct formation.

"You girls ready?" the PD called.

"Ready!" Victoria called back, cupping her hands around .

"Cue music," the director instructed to the man in the sound booth.

As the girls of f(x) began rehearsing their performance, which was the opening of SMTOWN, the other artists hung around backstage, mingling with each other. Some of the artists were sitting in the stadium, watching f(x), while others just hung around in their specified dressing rooms. In SNSD's dressing room, Hyoyeon was laying face-down on the couch, being quiet, which was needless to say, normal behavior for her now. Yoona was flipping through a magazine on the floor, looking bored out of her mind, while Yuri and Sooyoung were giggling by the mirrors, giving each other ridiculous makeovers. Seohyun was pacing around the room, waiting for Hyoyeon to speak, as she promised.

Tiffany huffed and walked right out of the silent room, heading for Super Junior's dressing room. She knocked once, and the door fell open, unlocked. Tiffany poked her head in curiously, seeing the members of Super Junior hanging around on the couches, with Sunny and Jessica there as well. She heard Jessica laughing at something with the other guys, and meanwhile, Sunny was letting Sungmin braid her hair.

Tiffany rolled her eyes, pushing the door fully open. "Really, you two?"

Startled, Sunny fell back against Sungmin, who patted her head comfortingly. "Sheesh, Tiffany, give us some warning, would you?"

"Sorry to interrupt you two." a smile played on Tiffany's lips.

"Hey, Fany!" Siwon greeted kindly, giving the girl a quick hug.

"Hi, oppa!"

"Oh, you're so nice to him. I see how it is." Donghae pouted.

"Everyone's nice to me," Siwon boasted, puffing his chest out, backing up towards the door.

"Just get outta here," Donghae grumbled as Siwon jogged out, patting his "hurt" heart and accompanied by the sound of Super Junior's laughter.

"Where's Leeteuk-oppa?" Tiffany asked curiously.

"Taeyeon's not here either." Sunny piped up.

"Strange..." Kyuhyun murmured absentmindedly, typing furiously on his laptop.

"They're obviously together, so let's just let them be." a new voice said, coming out from behind a curtain.

Tiffany's eyes widened and she burst out into laughter. "H-Heechul-oppa?"

"The one and only," Heechul smirked proudly, in his Lady HeeHee get-up.

Jessica came out from behind him, covering , in an attempt to stop her laughter.

"Take that off, hyung!" Ryeowook frowned, covering his eyes childishly.

"You don't have to wear it for another two hours, at least." Yesung added, making a horrified face.

"It's creeping us out," Shindong complained.

"Like your Shinyonce costume doesn't freak me out!" Heechul argued back, referring to the tight black mini-dress Shindong would wear for his Single Ladies performance.

Tiffany ignored them and went over to Donghae, tapping him on the shoulder. He was standing in front of the mirror, fixing his hair, and saw Tiffany waiting with a pout on her face. "You know I can see you, Tiffany."

"That's the point of mirrors, right?" the girl rolled her eyes.

"What do you want?" Donghae asked coolly, only looking at Tiffany's reflection in the mirror.

"Why do you think I always want something?" Tiffany folded her arms crossly. "Can't I just say hello?"

Donghae gave Tiffany an all-knowing look and grinned. "Whatever."

"Fine."

"I knew it~" Donghae responded in a sing-song voice.

"Where's Eunhyuk?" Tiffany demanded.

"You think I always know where he is, every second of the day?" Donghae cried, throwing his hands up in the air in exasperation. He turned, finally looking Tiffany in the eye. "Look, just because we're best friends, doesn't mean I'm constantly keeping tabs on him."

Tiffany eased up, but refused to leave without an answer. "But--"

"We all need privacy sometimes, right?" Donghae smiled, patting Tiffany's shoulder as he did so.

"I guess you're right," Tiffany sighed, "Hyoyeon's just so sad. I mean, she's not even talking!"

"What?" Donghae's features creased into a frown. "I thought you had a plan!"

"Who told you that?" Tiffany's mouth was agape at Donghae, surprised.

"You!" Donghae pointed to her, poking her in the forehead.

"I didn't say anything like that!" Tiffany shot back defiantly.

"I thought--" Donghae spluttered, not knowing how to counter. "What were you gonna do then?" he rolled his eyes, "Lock them in a closet until they make up?"

Tiffany twirled a strand of her dark brown hair, giggling. "Uh, no?"

"You were gonna do that!" Donghae exclaimed, doubling over with laughter.

"I don't see you doing anything!" Tiffany stuck her tongue out immaturely.

"Okay, fine," Donghae stuck his tongue out and huffed immaturely, crossing his arms. "Eunhyuk's on the roof."

Tiffany smiled back gratefully, turning on her heel to leave the room. "Thanks, Donghae!" she called over her shoulder.

Donghae waved at the cheerful American-born girl, even though she obviously couldn't see. Once Tiffany was out of earshot, Jessica crept over and smacked the innocent bystander on the shoulder.

"OW!" Donghae cried, rubbing his shoulder. "Sica~"

"Don't Sica me!" Jessica snapped. "What's going on?"

"You're so protective, sheesh. We're not getting married or anything; it's just two friends talking."

"Making a plan for Eunhyuk and Hyoyeon?"

Donghae raised an eyebrow at her, mildly surprised. Jessica shrugged, smirking a bit. "Yeah, I know things."

"Jessica, stop smirking like Heechul-oppa!" Sunny shouted from across the room.

"YAH!" Both Jessica and Heechul screamed back at Sunny, who cowered away from the two scary idols.

Eunhyuk stared at the view of Paris spread out before him - it was beautiful. If he were in a better mood, he would have appreciated and enjoyed the brilliant scene. The traffic wasn't too crazy; it was nothing like Seoul. There were many Parisians and other tourists, taking strolls down the cobblestone sidewalks and big hectic families, trying to stick together and not get lost in the muddle of pedestrians. Eunhyuk squinted and he could spot the Eiffel Tower in the far distance, located at the Champ de Mars, he remembered suddenly.

A flashback-- he thought back to when he visited the monument with Hyoyeon.

A smile unknowingly appeared on his lips, creeping on to his features.

"Hey, Eunhyuk."

Eunhyuk whirled around, half-expecting to see a blonde-haired dancer, but instead, saw a dark-haired girl wearing her usual eye-smile.

"Oh, hi, Tiffany," Eunhyuk greeted in a slight monotone, his smile erased from his face.

"Sorry I'm not Hyoyeon," she joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Eunhyuk's frown grew deeper. "Do you need something?"

"I know what happened."

The boy stared back at Tiffany dumbly, feigning innocence. "I honestly have...no clue what you're talking about."

"Come on, just stop already, okay? I'm going to help you." Tiffany resolved.

"Help me?" Eunhyuk echoed, confused.

Tiffany nodded once. "I'll help you get everything together with Hyoyeon. You have to commit though, and listen to what I say."

Slowly, Eunhyuk began nodding as well. "Okay, but I really just want an answer from her."

"Like it isn't clear as day how she feels about you," Tiffany muttered.

"Come again?"

"Just talking to myself," Tiffany chirped.

The door to the roof opened and the pair whipped their heads in that direction. Kyuhyun and Seohyun emerged from the blackness, into the harsh sunlight. They were talking quietly to each other, and Seohyun giggled at something Kyuhyun whispered. Neither of them noticed Eunhyuk or Tiffany's presence until the latter coughed loudly, causing the maknaes to jerk their heads up simultaneously.

"Hi, Seo; hi, Kyuhyun-oppa," Tiffany waved slyly.

"What are you two doing up here?" Kyuhyun questioned suspiciously.

"Talking like friends," Eunhyuk retaliated, "And you, Kyuhyun?"

"And Seohyun," Tiffany added.

"Practicing our duet," Kyuhyun answered tersely.

"Why here?" Tiffany continued, not giving up.

"It's loud inside," Seohyun pointed to the door.

"I'm sure it is," Seohyun's unnie teased playfully.

"We can go inside if you want us to." Eunhyuk offered, smiling only a little.

"Nah, I don't mind practicing in front of you guys." Kyuhyun shrugged, plopping down on the hard concrete ceiling in a spot a couple feet away from Tiffany and Eunhyuk.

Tiffany shrugged, leaving the two maknaes to themselves. “Okay, listen to me now.”

Eunhyuk turned his full attention to Tiffany. “I’m listening.”

“First thing’s first, you need to stop avoiding Hyoyeon for goodness’ sakes,” Tiffany instructed, shaking her head disapprovingly, “It’s only making everything worse.”

“So I have to talk to her?” Eunhyuk looked worried.

“Yes!” Tiffany cried, exasperated. “Establish your friendship with her again; remind her of how close you were.”

“How do I do that?” Eunhyuk moaned, putting his face into his hands.

“Just figure it out!” Tiffany snapped, annoyed with Eunhyuk’s helplessness. “That aside, your confession was horrible. Donghae told me about it and gosh--”

“I thought you were here to help me, not criticize me.” Eunhyuk lifted his head to shoot Tiffany a glare.

“Well, first, you need to stop moping!” Tiffany stood up and grabbed Eunhyuk’s arm, pulling him to his feet as well.

“Do I have to talk to her now?”

“Is there any other time?” Tiffany walked to the door leading back to the actual stadium.

“I don’t know what to say!”

“You’ll figure it out, I’m sure--err, I hope.” Tiffany mumbled.

“Bye Tiffany-unnie!” Seohyun called out.

“Wait, no, I can’t talk to her yet!” Eunhyuk protested, trying to wrench out of Tiffany’s grip.

“There’s no use, Hyukjae; I can be strong when I want to be.” Tiffany smiled victoriously, dragging Eunhyuk further down the hall.

“Tiffany!”

“Donghae!”

Donghae smiled widely at Tiffany, with Hyoyeon by his side, who was standing motionlessly, eyes cast downward. Tiffany beamed back, with Eunhyuk behind her, stealing a few glances at Hyoyeon.

“Perfect timing,” Donghae sighed, “I was just gonna come find you. I brought Hyoyeon!”

“I brought Eunhyuk,” Tiffany replied with a laugh.

“Okay, make up, you two,” Donghae ordered, releasing Hyoyeon and pushing her towards Eunhyuk.

“Donghae, I don’t think this is the best--”

“Tiffany, let’s go!” Donghae cried, grabbing her hand and racing around the corner.

Eunhyuk and Hyoyeon listened to the faint sounds of Tiffany screaming and then focused their attention on each other, for only a fraction of a second.

“Hi,” Eunhyuk started, smiling carefully.

After a moment, Hyoyeon responded with the tiniest of smiles.

“Hi.”
