Part I - Trailing their way towards Tragedy: 1st Chapter
One Does Not Simply Mess With LoveIn the airport above all the noise of bags being dragged away, people talking quickly among them or on the phone, there was a young beautiful and blond girl standing in the crowd, waiting to make the check in. Her 42 years old mother couldn’t help but to cry – her only child was travelling alone to the other side of the world.
“Are you sure of this Amber?” Her mom asked again causing Amber to roll her eyes. That was the fifth time she asked that question since they had left home. Her father had some meeting and couldn’t take her to the airport so Amber was left with that troublesome mother of hers.
“Yes, mom, I’m more than certain.” Amber glanced around not wanting to meet her mother’s pleading eyes –Amber would give in and she didn’t want to. “A scholarship isn’t for anyone you know? I have to take this chance mom.” Her mom had already heard this answer and nodded comprehensively, still sniffing.
Amber made the check in and walked to the bathroom where she thought she could escape her mom for a few minutes but she couldn’t – of course.
In that exact time there was a boy whose red-brown hair was being messed up by his father. His father and he wrestled while his mom went to make the check in for him.
“Ah, dad, you’re messing my hair up! It took me three hours to style it like this!” his dad laughed heartedly and gave him a little push when he went look for a mirror to fix his hair. He rushed to the bathroom and let out a relief sigh when he found himself staring at his reflection.
“Henry…?” His dad entered the airports’ bathroom and found his son fixing his hair with a wide smile in his lips. “Excited to meet some Korean baby girls?” Henry let out a small chuckle and nodded.
“I thought I was going there to study, dad.”
“You can study wherever you want but you can’t meet true Korean girls anywhere right?”

“Mom, I have to go.” Amber’s mom wouldn’t let her go – she was hugging her tightly and crying as if the world was about to end. “I’ll call you as soon as I land, I promise!” Her mom sniffed again and let her go in the plane. Amber almost felt like running just to prevent some idiotic idea to keep her in the USA.
While she was in the line to enter the plane she saw a family, a Chinese family like hers. The boy’s parents hugged him quickly and he walked with his headphones towards the end of the line.
Why can’t my family be like that?
She felt upset but didn’t think much about that.
Once inside the plane Amber looked for her seat. She settled quickly beside the window and took her book off the handing-bag. She was about to start to listen to some music when a boy sat right next to her. At first Amber didn’t pay any kind of special attention to him – she saw his reddish brown hair, roundly chubby and cute face. He was goofily beautiful but that was all. Amber caught herself staring when he looked back at her taking his headphones out. She turned away completely embarrassed using her book to cover the right side of her head.
Henry chuckled at her behaviour taking it as rather cute. He turned away closing his eyes and leaning his head back – to make clear he was no longer looking at her – then pushed her book down without opening his eyes. He couldn’t see her relieved look but he felt her stare again – to Amber there was something familiar about that boy. However she could not say what. One thing is certain – she would find out.
Destiny behaves like a kid…
