An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle but never break.

My mind had- heartlessly- devised many dreams in which you and I were together sitting in each other's embrace. Your collogne enveloped around me and your fingers carefully caressed me yet I knew better than to let those dreams manipulate my thoughts into believing that one day, someday, we'd find our way back to how we used to be.

And as I sit here, probably miles away from where you are, I close the thin photo album containing the only evidence I have left of ever knowing you; the memories stored in the very deepths of my heart would be forgotten slowly, though the process was anything but soothing. This was, I promised myself, the last time I would ever trace my fingers over the sharp features of your face. The small collection of photos now takes its place in a plain carton box beneath my bed.

The door of the room bursts open and Ji Sun dashes in, her grin big and her eyes excited.

"Hurry, Min Ji!" she giggles, "orientation is starting!"

"I'll be there in a second," I reply with a smile and pull up from my bed, tugging on my university sweater.

I blended in well with the large group of students and as I tugged along, including myself in the group, I smiled inwardly- I was at ease.

Whatever it takes, I know I can make it through.
