“Mom? Yeah you heard? Yes I’m really happy.”

Your mom called you late at night to congratulate you on your group’s success. She heard from your sister that your group was doing really well in Korea with their debut. You were sitting out by the main lobby of the YG entertainment building. Groups that were currently promoting their songs had to stay in the dorms of the building.

“I miss you ------. We all really miss you. It’s painful for me to not be there for you and support you through such an important stage in your life.”

“Mom… I miss you so much too. It’s been almost 5 months since I saw all of you and it really is hard being in a completely different country than you all.”

Suddenly you heard sobbing from the other line and realized that your mom was crying.

Your eyes got teary as you continued to hear her. “M-mom stop. I promise once everything settles down I’ll come to visit you.”

You heard her sniffle and clear . “I’m sorry -----. I shouldn’t have broken down like that. I’m sorry. It’s just it’s been a bit tough trying to get used to not having my baby here by my side anymore. Even your dad is having a rough time. I- I just sometimes wished you stayed here.”

You bit your lips as you heard your mom tearfully tell you the truth. For the past few months they have called and said everything was okay. She always tried to sound cheerful and supportive of whatever you were doing, saying that they were all doing fine.

“Mom I’m sorry. I wish I could come back and live together with you but I do love what I’m doing. I never thought my life would be like this but I feel like this is the way I should lead it.”

“I know. I know. I’m sorry. That was a really selfish thing for me to say. You know I am proud of you and happy that you are happy.”

“I know mom. Thank you.”

“Alright, I know it’s late there now and I should let you go to sleep. Your days seem to be very busy now and I don’t want to keep you up too long. You know I love you very much. Keep doing what you’re doing and I know QT3 will do wonderfully.”

“Thank you mom. I love you and miss you two. Bye.”

You two said your goodbyes and you stayed sitting down, staring at your phone. You haven’t been able to talk to your parents as often as you wanted because of how busy you have been lately, and it really is getting to you. This is the longest time you have been away from them and you are adjusting really well, but there are times like now, where you miss them desperately. You couldn’t even celebrate with them properly.

You gave one big sigh and rubbed your eyes.

“Shouldn’t you be sleeping now Miss Super Rookie?” You turned around at the sound and saw a smiling T.O.P.

“Oppa. What are you doing here?”

He walked closer and sat down next to you. “We had to stay a bit longer to work on something for Big Bang’s next comeback.”

“Ah.” You nodded your head and him and pulled your feet up on the chair. You held onto your legs and laid your head on them.

“What are you doing up? Don’t you have your first performance tomorrow?”

“I got a call from my mom.” Was all the explanation you gave. Everything was quiet from there until you hear T.O.P shift and face you on the chair.

“How’s everything with your family?” He asked you softly. He saw that you looked a bit melancholy.

“I just… I really miss them so much oppa. It’s hard not being able to celebrate my success with my family.” You buried your head in your arms. You felt your throat constricting and your eyes getting wet from the thought.

“Hey hey don’t cry. I know it must be hard for you, but you have us right? Your Big Bang oppas, 2ne1 unnies, Eun Hee and Hana are here. I’m here.”

He pulled his chair closer and lifted your head from its place between your arms.

“Aigoo… look at this big baby we have here.” He said lovingly as he wiped away the tears that escaped your eyes.

“Hey, there’s nothing to be sad about. I’m positive if you ask President if you can visit them when QT3 are taking a break, he will say yes.” He pushed away the hair that got stuck to your face and put them behind your hair.

You gave him a little smile at that. He was always so sweet and caring that you couldn’t help but feel happy.

“There you go. You look a lot more beautiful now with that smile on your face.” He grinned at you and and you couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit at him.

“Thank you oppa. I can always count on you to make me feel better. “ You put your feet down from chiar and started to stand up. You stretched and gave one big yawn. You didn’t cover your mouth and heard T.O.P laughing at you.

“You should head up and get some sleep before you fall asleep here.” You felt your exhaustion catch up on you and could barely keep your eyes open anymore.

“I will oppa, thank you so much for everything once again. “ You gave him on big hug as thanks. He stiffened at the surprise contact but slowly relaxed and hugged you back. There was a huge smile on his face when you finally let go.

“You’re really like the older brother I never had.” You smiled softly at him and wished him a goodnight and started to head back to your dorm.

You missed as the smile on his face quickly turned into a frown.

“Brother?” T.O.P whispered to himself, completely taken back with how upset that one word made him.

“You see me as just a brother?” He had a painful look on his face as he watched you get on the elevator and head up to your room.
