Chapter 5.
Just Go With The Flow
Kris, Lay and I met up twice a week ever since the day I returned their umbrella. They needed my help with learning the language and I needed their help with learning about the culture. I guess you could say that the three of us became pretty close after about a month. We learned quite a bit about one another in a rather short period of time. I believe it was a Thursday night about three months after I met Lay when I finally decided to act on the feelings I had for Kris. I was helping the two of them with their hangul a week before that night when Lay told Kris to go buy us some drinks, a way for him to talk to me one on one really. That little…
“You know Kris really likes you right?” Lay had a mischievous smile on his face when he was telling me this. I was beyond shocked when I had heard him tell me that Kris liked me.
“Ehh?! No way. You’re kidding!” No way in hell was I going to believe that a guy as good looking and talented as Kris would like an ordinary girl like me. I was just his tutor, a friend at most. Heck I still find it hard to believe that Kris feels that way about me, pinching myself on the arm whenever we’re together hoping that it isn’t some terrible dream, out to ruin my sanity.
“I’m not kidding! You’re all he talks about lately, I mean you’re a good friend and all but it’s starting to get on my nerves. You need to make the first move! I’m pretty sure you like him and I know for a fact that he likes you! The kid’s denser than a rock when it comes to these things though so you gotta speak up first! ” Lay looked really flustered as he was telling me about Kris’s current situation.
“Wait, so you’re saying that he likes me but he doesn’t know it?” I gave Lay a questioning look and he just nodded his head, looking me straight in the eyes.
“And how are you so sure that I like him?” I really thought that I was doing a good job of hiding it, but I guess not…
“It’s really obvious. You stare at him whenever you think we’re not looking, but yea… I notice.” A light pink spread across my face from the embarrassment of being caught by Lay.
“Okay, so you’re right about that but do you really expect me to just go and tell Kris I like him when I don’t even know if he likes me? That’s a horrible plan! What if he doesn’t actually like me? I would rather not go and embarrass myself!” This is terribly embarrassing as well but I’ll let you guys in on a secret. I’ve never had a boyfriend prior to Kris. Sad right?
“Oh come on! If anything I can tell him I dared you to say all that if he turns you down!” Lay had a huge smile plastered on his face and gave me a thumbs up.
“Just let me think about it first.” What does he expect me to do? I am the girl here; shouldn’t Kris be the one making the first move?
“Fine fine, just trust me on this one though! I know Kris and I am 100% sure that he really likes you. All he ever talked about before was training and his family, now all he ever talks about is you! If that doesn’t mean he likes you, I have no idea what it means!” Lay was getting really worked up and it made me really nervous. Maybe he’s right. Heck… of course he is, I know that now at least. Excuse me while I go back in time and slap myself.
