Chapter 3.
Just Go With The Flow
I was free from classes the next morning so I decided to take the umbrella back to Kris and Lay. It was a sunny day out which so I chose to wear a simple white sundress and flip flops. I’ve given up on using hair curlers and left my hair in all of its natural straight and ridiculously flat glory.
I was walking towards the building when I saw Kris and Lay walk out. I was about to call out their names but Lay had already noticed me.
“Oh! You’re here! We’re going out to take a quick break from training. Do you want to join us? It’s not every day we get time off like this and you’re Mandarin sounds more fluent than Kris’s to me! I need to have an actual conversation with someone who can understand me completely!” I was completely taken aback by Lay’s friendliness at the time. He was really open and outgoing, nothing like the tall and handsome friend standing beside him.
“Uh… okay, I don’t have classes today anyways.” I would be lying if I said that I didn’t want to this as a chance to get to know Kris better, but I was in need of an actual conversation with someone would could understand me completely as well.
“Great! Let’s go!” Lay pulled took my arm and pulled me towars the middle. I smiled at Kris and waved at him, he returned that with an awkward smile and nodded his head. Little did I know that Lay had a plan up on his sleeve and was trying to get the two of us together. Similar to how I wanted to get to know Kris after meeting him that day, he felt the same way about me as well.
