Rainbow“Happy birthday, Sanghee!” Byunghun set down a chocolate cake in front of her, complete with the appropriate amount of candles. “Make a wish.”
Grinning, she blew the candles out, closing her eyes tightly as she did. “Thank you so much for the cake and party, it was so much fun.”
“Anything for you, Sanghee,” Byunghun reassured, smiling fondly at her. “Happy birthday.”
Sanghee looked pleased with his presents – matching couple rings, a pair of earrings and, of course, the party he had organised. Not to mention he’d dyed his hair black for her birthday. “Thank you so much, Byunghun,” she said earnestly. “This is one of the best birthday’s ever.”
“Maybe I should make this a thing,” Byunghun mused. “Dye my hair whatever colour you want for your birthday. You like blue, right? Do you want me to dye my hair blue?”
“Byunghun!” Sanghee yelped, shuddering at the mental image.
“What, no blue? How about purple?” They laughed together before Byunghun took her hand, squeezing it gently. “You know, I bet I could go through the whole rainbow.”
“You would,” Sanghee agreed, pursing her lips in thought. “You haven’t been a redhead yet, but orange and yellow, you’ve done. But whatever you do, don’t dye your hair green. That would look awful.”
“I thought all my hairstyles were going to be awful,” Byunghun admitted. “But they didn’t look that bad, I guess. I can pull anything off!”
“Yes, but you can’t really pull of being bald at such a young age, you know.”
