Day 25: 10 January 2024

50 poems a day

Tonight, a weight on my heart, heavy and deep,

Made you cry again, promises I couldn't keep.

This morning's joy, friends like family, so bright,

Yet within, a fear, a darkness took flight.

Welcomed, embraced, like a true family's kin,

But the warmth, a whisper, a doubt within.

I don't deserve such love, a haunting refrain,

So I hurt you, pushed you away again.

In this cycle of sorrow, a self-inflicted game,

I've given up on myself, drowning in shame.

A loser, an , I admit the decree,

You deserve more, someone better than me.
