The fire station was unusually quiet as Taeyeon sat in her office, surrounded by a sea of paperwork. Her pen moved across the incident report, detailing the recent fire they had extinguished. 

As she transcribed the details onto paper, she couldn't help but hum a soft tune under her breath.

Which, apparently, was loud enough for the other firefighters to hear.

Sooyoung who was passing by Taeyeon's open office door, raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued by the unusual sight of their captain appearing genuinely content while writing a report.

A report!

Writing incident report was their least favourite thing about fire-fighting but the captain seemed happy doing it.

Sooyoung couldn't resist the urge to tease Taeyeon, and she sauntered into the office with a smirk. "Well, well, Cap," she began playfully, "this is the first time I've seen a firefighter smile while writing up an incident report."

Taeyeon immediately stopped humming and looked up at her friend and colleague, "What do you need, Sooyoung-ah?"

"Oh, nothing." Sooyoung sat at the chair across Taeyeon and smirked, "You're in an awfully good mood. Did something exciting happen today?"

Taeyeon returned her gaze at her paperwork, her cheeks faintly flushed, and attempted to maintain her usual composure. "Nothing out of the ordinary, Sooyoung. Just another day at the office."

But Sooyoung was not easily deterred. She leaned against Taeyeon's cluttered desk, her teasing grin unwavering. "Come on, Cap. You can't fool me. There's definitely something going on. You've been happier than a kid in a candy store for the past few days. Spill the beans."

Taeyeon sighed, realizing her poker face was failing her once again in front of Sooyoung's relentless questioning. 

If there is someone she can never hide anything to, it will be Sooyoung. The firefighter has extraordinary observation skills that no one passes by her. 

Amazing skill to have as a firefighter. But as a friend? Taeyeon is almost scared of Sooyoung.

She decided to give a vague response, instead. "Let's just say... life has been unexpectedly good recently."

Which is true. Ever since she had the talk with Tiffany a week ago, life seemed to be much lighter. They have been exchanging messages, and even a short "hi" from the doctor is enough to make her day.  

Sooyoung raised an eyebrow, clearly not satisfied with the answer. "Captain, you're a terrible liar."

"I'm not lying!"

"Does it have something to do with a certain doctor? Let's say, an OB-GYN?"

Taeyeon almost choked on her own saliva, and she couldn't help the blush that crept up on her cheeks at the mention of Tiffany. 

Gosh, even the mere mention of the doctor has that effect on her. She's got it bad.

She hesitated on telling Sooyoung about Tiffany and their current relationship. She knew if she tells Sooyoung, it wouldn't take long for the entire station to know. However, she have no interest on hiding the doctor or keeping her a secret, anyway. The only reason she was hesitating on telling the team was because she knew she'd be under a barrage of teasing. 

Oh, well. She can take it.

Looking at Sooyoung, she nodded, confirming that it has indeed something to do with the doctor.

Sooyoung's grin widened as she leaned in. "Ah, I knew it! Captain has finally found herself a lady doctor!"

Taeyeon couldn't help but chuckle at her friend. "Yeah, well, Tiffany... she's an amazing person."

"Ah! This is so exciting! Captain is finally getting laid!"

Taeyeon's eyes widened, "What? No! Yah!"

Sooyoung's loud voice seemed to have echoed throughout the station and the other firefighters started flocking into her office. Soon, a small group had gathered in the tiny room, all wearing knowing smiles.

"What, what, what is it I just heard? Captain?"

"Captain is getting laid?!"

As word of Taeyeon's newfound romance with Tiffany was blurted from Sooyoung's mouth, it didn't take long for other firefighters to join in on the teasing. 

Yuri went to stand behind Taeyeon, massaging the Captain's shoulders. "Amazing job, Cap. We never thought we'd see the day when you'd be with someone, finally."

"You're all overreacting."

"You are basically humming while writing an incident report!"

"I guess love does wonders, huh?"

"What love?" Taeyeon swatted Yuri's hand away. "Who said anything about love?"

The team chuckled at their flustered captain.

"You, Captain. We thought you're going to be a spinster!"

Taeyeon couldn't help but roll her eyes playfully at Key's comment. "Oh, don't be dramatic, Key."

"Well, Cap, if you ever need some romantic advice, just let us know. We've got your back." Donghae winked.

Taeyeon grinned, appreciating the support of her team despite their relentless teasing. "I appreciate it, but I think I'll manage just fine."

Sooyoung, still leaning against her desk, smiled at Taeyeon. "Well, Captain, we're happy for you. You deserve to have someone. Especially as hot as Dr. Hwang."

"I know, right?" Leeteuk joined in, "How did you even manage to get that, Cap?"

Taeyeon smirked. "Who can resist my charm?"

"Pfft." Donghae picked up a few paper clips and threw it at Taeyeon. "Smug little captain."

"Yah! Oppa!"

Despite the playful banter, Taeyeon knew her team was genuinely happy for her. She was grateful for their support and the newfound happiness Tiffany had brought into her life. Now, as her teams left to get lunch ready at the beanery, she returned to her incident report with a contented sigh, she couldn't help but hum that same tune once more, knowing that her heart was filled with the happiness she had longed for.

"Gear up, team! Residential fire, possible occupants inside!"

The fire station's calm was disrupted by the shrill sound of the alarm, signaling an emergency call. Taeyeon's team sprang into action, firefighters rushing to get into their gear, and piling into the fire truck.

"Key, you're on desk duty today. Probie, you're coming with us."

The probationary firefighter, Bambam, who recently just joined their station, immediately followed the instruction of the captain and got into his gear.

Taeyeon barked out instructions, her voice cutting through the urgency in the air. She quickly checked her helmet and gave a nod. It's time for an action, once again.

Sirens wailed and lights flashed as the fire truck navigated through the busy streets, reaching the scene in record time. The house in question had thick plumes of smoke billowing from the upper floor windows.

"Stay sharp, people! Safety first!" Taeyeon reminded her team as they prepared to face the inferno.

Without hesitation, the firefighters grabbed their hoses and equipment, forming a well-coordinated team. Taeyeon, as the captain, led the charge, directing her team with precision an
