Conversation and Confession
Scrubs and TurnoutsThe night was still bathed in the afterglow of the gala as Taeyeon and Tiffany left the event behind.
As they stepped further into the cool evening air, Taeyeon couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions swirling within her. There was an anticipation of a conversation that was long overdue and the weight of uncertainty hanging in the air.
Originally, she had intended for them to talk at the fire station, place she knew like the back of her hand, but something inside her told her that this talk needed to happen in a more comfortable and private setting.
Besides, she didn't want Sooyoung, Yuri or Key to overhear what they'll be talking about. Because she was sure, if any of the three hears anything, the whole station will know the next day.
And there's also the thought that she wanted Tiffany to feel safe and at ease, allowing them to have an honest and open conversation.
But maybe she was just using that as an excuse on what she's about to suggest.
With a hint of nervousness, she turned to Tiffany. "The station might be a bad idea, Fany," she said.
"Why?"
"Too many people around." She said, "I know a better place we can talk. It's quiet and away from the prying eyes of people."
Tiffany met Taeyeon's gaze as they walked towards the parking lot. They have decided to use Tiffany's car, as Taeyeon insisted she'll just pick up hers the next day. "Where do you have in mind?"
For a moment, Taeyeon hesitated, her mind running through the options.
She might hate the idea.
Then, after a deep breath, she made her decision. "How about my place? It's not too far from here, and it's a peaceful spot where we can have the privacy we need."
She watched as the doctor seemed to consider the offer carefully.
After a few moments of contemplation, Tiffany nodded with a warm smile. "Your place it is."
The car ride to Taeyeon's apartment was a silent journey, yet the air was filled with unspoken thoughts and emotions. Both Taeyeon and Tiffany sat in their respective seats, their minds racing with anticipation and uncertainty.
Taeyeon gripped the steering wheel of Tiffany's car, her gaze focused on the road ahead, but her thoughts were far from the traffic around them.
She couldn't help but replay the events of the evening, from the moment her eyes landed on Tiffany at the gala, to the moment she had asked her to come to her place.
Her heart raced as she contemplated what lay ahead. She knew that this conversation was a turning point. For her, at least. A chance she has given herself to address the emotions that had been simmering beneath the surface for so long.
There was almost a moment of vulnerability. Like she was stepping into the unknown.
Beside her, Tiffany sat in silence, her gaze fixed on the passing city lights. Her fingers gently tapped on her thigh, a habit that Taeyeon observed in the few moments that she had spent with the doctor. She wondered what Tiffany was currently thinking, but her thoughts lingered more on how beautiful the doctor looks in her own coat, and with the city lights in the background.
As they arrived at Taeyeon's apartment, Tiffany couldn't help but be impressed by what she saw. The building itself was a modern skyscraper, fitting well with the cityscape that surrounded it. Taeyeon's apartment was on one of the higher floors, affording a view of the city's skyline, which was particularly breathtaking that night.
Inside, Tiffany found the apartment to be a reflection of Taeyeon's personality – neat, organized, and with a distinct minimalistic style. The living room was furnished with clean lines and just a few hues of blue, creating a serene atmosphere. A large window allowed them the view of the lights below which Tiffany marveled at.
The walls were adorned with a few pieces of art, there are also some that seemed to be medals and certificates.
Tiffany followed Taeyeon through the apartment, her eyes taking in the details. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped, and a dining area adjacent to it was only set for two.
Overall, Taeyeon's apartment was a reflection of her personality – clean and organized.
"Nice place," Tiffany quipped.
"Thanks." Taeyeon smiled and gestured for Tiffany to take a seat at the couch. "Do be comfortable. Do you want some coffee?"
"How about some wine?"
Taeyeon raised an eyebrow. "No duty at the hospital tomorrow?"
"None. Tomorrow is my day off."
"Wine it is then," Taeyeon agreed, heading to a small bar at her kitchen.
"You're not working tomorrow too?" Tiffany shouted from the living room.
Taeyeon returned with a bottle of red wine and two wine glasses. "I'll take a personal day."
Carefully, she opened th
