Chapter 19

The Start of Something New

Jake and Jeonggeun spent their summer, well winter, vacation back home in Australia, catching up with old friends and even having a conversation with Jeonggeun's parents. That had gone better than even Jeonggeun expected, though he knew better than to expect a warm welcome back from them in the first place. He was still considered not their child in their eyes which was fine with Jeonggeun. He didn't want to deal with people who abandoned him ever again, and so after that one day they met on Jake's insistence they never went back. Even to say goodbye.

“I expect you back here when you are done with school,” reminded Hwon as Jake and Jeonggeun stood before him on the last day before they were due back in Korea.

“I know,” replied Jake as he nodded his head. “But Jeonggeun still has one last year there after the next year, so I don't know what you want to do with him?” He asked.

“Don't speak like I'm not standing right here now,” grumbled Jeonggeun as he let out a sigh. “But what am I to do until I'm done with school?” He asked.

“You two have acknowledged you were soulmates yes?” Asked Hwon as he leaned back in his chair and kept one hand on the desk.

“We have, yeah,” confirmed Jake as he nodded his head.

“Yes,” agreed Jeonggeun as he nodded his head.

“Then you can wait until Jeonggeun is done with school before you come back here,” Hwon decided on, nodding as a ghost of a smile appeared as the corners of his lips turned upwards. “Congratulations, I hope you both live a long and healthy life after everything is said and done,” he added, dismissing them with a wave of his hand. “Go get packed then, I do not need you anymore from this point, though if I do I will let someone know to bring you here,” he added as an afterthought.

Jeonggeun and Jake bowed before straightening and turning and leaving.

“We have our tickets right?” Asked Jeonggeun as he and Jeongwoo met Jake outside his room.

“We do,” responded Jake after he closed the door behind him. “Do you two have your passports?” He asked.

“I do,” replied Jeonggeun as he held up his.

Jeongwoo nodded his head, showing his passport.

“Alright, let's go, Chan and Allen are waiting,” reminded Jake as he made sure the straps of his backpack was secure on his shoulders before he left with Jeongwoo and Jeonggeun.

Seoho was there waiting on them dressed in his guard clothes when Jake and the others arrived in Incheon. “Welcome back,” he greeted, nodding in greeting as Jake and the others approached.

“Hey Seoho,” greeted Jake as he bowed his head in greeting.

“Hello,” mumbled Jeonggeun as he also bowed his head in greeting.

Jeongwoo could only bow his head in greeting before lifting his head as Allen walked over.

“Well I'll make my way back to the dorms then,” Allen sighed out before walking off, heading in a different direction from them.

“We'll head on back, Dann's making dinner again," reminded Seoho before he turned and walked away with the others following behind him.

“Welcome back everyone,” greeted Dann and Jahan as everyone stepped out of the car. “Here's to another school year Jeonggeun, and hello Jeongwoo,” Dann added, giving Jeongwoo a friendly grin.

Jeongwoo grinned in return, relaxing when Jake patted him on the shoulder in a comforting gesture.

“Did Chanyoung manage to make it?” asked Jake as he turned to Dann.

“Yes,” confirmed Dann. “I believe he and Seobin are in the livingroom with Soobin and Yeonjun,” he explained. “Come on in,” he added, moving to open the door as Jahan moved out of the way. Everyone quickly entered the house.

“I am going to need my damn translator aren't I?” Asked Jeonggeun as he huffed out a sigh.

“It's been a while since you've spoken any Korean, you may need it,” Jake commented with a snicker, speaking Korean now as he turned to Jeonggeun.

“…Yeah I'm going to need one,” sighed Jeonggeun as he went to put it in his ear, making sure it was secure before walking into the livingroom.

“Welcome back everyone,” greeted Soobin as everyone entered the livingroom.

“I'm surprised you came back,” commented Chanyoung as he walked over to Jake.

“I still have one more year, and Jeongwoo wanted to come with me, he couldn't stay much longer back in Australia anyway,” explained Jake as he shrugged. “Plus I wanted to be here to cheer on Jeonggeun as he completes his last two years,” he added.

“Oh, this is the Jeongwoo you wanted to introduce to my brother?” Asked Chanyoung as he noticed Jeongwoo standing behind Jake.

“This is Jeongwoo, yes,” confirmed Jake as he moved to let Jeongwoo step forward.

Jeongwoo stepped forward, letting Chanyoung observe him closely before doing anything else. He knew better than to immediately jump on the opportunity to make a new friend, so he was being patient for the time being.

Chanyoung hummed, lightly tilting his head to the side in observation before shaking his head. “Seobin, can you come over here?” He called, turning when Seobin scrambled to get up and run over, stopping beside Chanyoung.

“Is this the new friend you told me about?” Asked Seobin as he looked up at Jeongwoo.

“It is,” confirmed Chanyoung as he nodded his head. “Do you mind being friends with him?” He asked.

“Of course!” Exclaimed Seobin as he grinned. “Nice to meet ya,” he greeted, walking over to Jeongwoo who could only grin in greeting. “Don't worry, I can talk enough for the both of us!” He reassured as he grabbed Jeongwoo by the arm and dragged him off to where he was sitting.

“Well, that went better than expected,” commented Jeonggeun as he let out a soft chuckle.

“Seobin is accepting of a few people, he knows when a friend is genuine and when a friend isn't,” Chanyoung offhandedly commented with a shrug.

“Jeongwoo is the same, they'll be good friends in no time,” agreed Jake as he nodded his head.

The dinner went off without much issue after that, everyone just enjoying the evening and relaxing for the time being before the new semester starts. Jeongwoo and Seobin were last seen in one of Dann's spare rooms sleeping and neither Jake nor Chanyoung wanted to wake the two up so Dann was okay with everyone spending the night. When that was decided everyone but Jeongwoo and Seobin had been sitting around the livingroom, just relaxing for the moment before they decided to head off to their rooms.

Jake and Jeonggeun were the first to leave, excusing themselves as they went to their room which was across the hall from Jeongwoo and Seobin.

“I can't believe I have two more years,” remarked Jeonggeun as he got into bed beside Jake who was laying down and checking his tablet for anything new.

“Let's make the most of it yeah?” Asked Jake as he turned to Jeonggeun. “I'm going to be here every step of the way now,” he added. “I hope you don't get too sick of me by the end of it,” he added, jokingly as an afterthought.

“Please, if anything you'd be sick of me by the end of it,” scoffed Jeonggeun, the humor clear in his voice as he let out a soft chuckle.

“Here's to another year?” Asked Jake as he held out a fist.

“Here's to another year,” agreed Jeonggeun as he fist bumped with Jake.

Chapter 5: Jeonggeun is still learning the language, he will pick it up at his own pace.

The execution was a quick one. Kinda feel bad for the dude but then I remember what he did so…

Chapter 2: Jeonggeun wants to seem more confident and also he prefers to ignore important things such as the color of the rose on his palm.

Black has mostly negative meaning but maybe for the boys it will have a unique meaning!

Chapter 1: Jake has to be really careful as Jeonggeun can cause some trouble or a fight could break out. It is understandable that Jeonggeun is not happy, who would want someone constantly watching them? But he has no choice. His backstory makes me very curious, I wonder what happened with his brother. Why did he leave Jeonggeun ?

Jake isn’t much better, he has to make sure that he and his family won’t have to pay for their father’s debt.

So far the story seems pretty interesting. Good job, author!
