Chapter 12

The Start of Something New

“Come again?” Asked Jeonggeun as he took a step back in surprise. “Your soulmate was named Jimin and then your soulmate somehow had a second soulmate and their name was Minyoung?” He asked. “Are you sure you didn't have a second name somewhere?” He asked.

“I checked, and I don't,” responded Chanyoung as he shook his head. “I don't know how Jimin had two names, but I remember seeing his name on Minyoung's shoulder,” he added. “I don't know how he only had two, but I wish I had been there to help him afterwards,” he grumbled. “Minyoung was the worst person ever, I haven't seen him in a long time but I hope he regrets what he did, in the long run,” he added as an afterthought.

“Is that why you're at this bridge so much?” Asked Jeonggeun as he walked over to stand beside Chanyoung again. “Is that how-”

“Big brother!” Shouted a voice as someone ran over from Chanyoung's direction and stopping all conversation about the topic.

“Seobin, I told you I was fine,” reassured Chanyoung as he turned to Seobin, fighting back a sigh as Seobin pouted at him.

“I'm sorry,” grumbled Seobin as he looked down at his feet. “Jungwonie told me where you went and I got worried,” he explained, looking up at Chanyoung again.

“I'm okay, see?” Asked Chanyoung as he put his hands on Seobin's shoulders. “Now, can you wait over there for a minute? I need to finish talking to Jeonggeun here,” he added, gesturing to Jeonggeun who waved at Seobin.

“Okay,” mumbled Seobin before he stepped away, staying a few feet away.

Chanyoung kept an eye on him for a minute before turning back to Jeonggeun who raised an eyebrow at him. “He's- Seobin was in an accident,” he explained with a sigh. “He can function perfectly fine on his own, but part of his mind is still childlike,” he added. “There isn't much we can do about it, but it's up to him to snap out of it, eventually,” he explained with a shrug.

“I see,” Jeonggeun muttered with a sigh, shaking his head. “I'm not- I'm not judging you for that before you say something,” he added, speaking louder for Chanyoung to understand.

Chanyoung took a minute to let the translation finish before nodding his head. “I didn't think you would,” he reassured quickly. “But yes, that is why I'm at this bridge a lot,” he explained, going back to the earlier subject. “I'm only here to make sure that no one else went the same route as Jimin did,” he added. “At least, I think that's what he would've wanted,” he explained as an afterthought.

“So why are you telling me all of this?” Asked Jeonggeun.

“Because I know who you hang out with,” responded Chanyoung. “And I figured that Minyoung was finally punished for his crimes,” he added. “So I feel more comfortable hanging out with you now but are you okay with dealing with my problems?” He asked.

“I've dealt with worse, admittedly,” admitted Jeonggeun as he looked thoughtful. “But I do not mind being your friend, if you don't mind being mine,” he added, nodding his head in agreement.

“I must warn you now, Seobin will be with us a lot when I'm not busy with my classes,” warned Chanyoung. “He can be a handful sometimes, but I'm his only caretaker,” he explained. “Luckily he can take care of himself for the most part, I would just need him with me when I'm not busy with school,” he added.

“Can't be as bad as an overprotective member of the guard who only let me come here alone because of the close proximity to the house I'm staying in?” Asked Jeonggeun as he raised an eyebrow.

“I suppose so,” responded Chanyoung as he let out a small chuckle, grinning at Jeonggeun. “We're gonna be good friends aren't we?” He asked.

“Yep,” responded Jeonggeun as he let out a chuckle.

Chanyoung and Seobin were eventually invited over to the guard house, being invited over for a get together that Jake had organized between friends with Dann's permission.

“Welcome,” greeted Dann as he opened the door, smiling in greeting at Chanyoung and Seobin. “I understand that you both may need a translator so come on in,” he added before turning and letting them in before closing the door. “Does Seobin need one with a hook to go around the ear?” He asked, leading them into the kitchen.

“Translator?” Asked Seobin as he looked excited.

“He'll need one, yes, but I can put it on for him if you don't mind?” Asked Chanyoung as Dann turned to them with two boxes.

“Keep them,” insisted Dann as he handed the boxes to Chanyoung. “Even I know that google translate doesn't help whatsoever,” he added with a small chuckle. “Don't worry about paying me back, I like to help out when I can,” he reassured. “Jake is out back, just go through the door there,” he explained, gesturing to the back door. “If you need anything just ask okay?” He asked.

“Thank you,” mumbled Chanyoung as he bowed his head. He took the boxes from Dann before opening one and finding the translator that had the ear hook attached to it. He set down the boxes on the kitchen island after grabbing the translator and turned to Seobin. “Seobin you need to keep this in your ear okay?” He asked. “You'll be able to understand the English speaking people,” he explained.

“Okay,” mumbled Seobin, letting Chanyoung put the translator in his ear. He tried not to flinch when Chanyoung touched his ear, letting the hook hang on his ear.

“I'm almost done okay?” Asked Chanyoung as he made sure the translator was sitting securely in his ear before moving away. He then went to open the second box and put the translator in his ear, adjusting it to where it wouldn't fall out immediately.

“Did you need anything else?” Asked Dann, speaking in English to make sure the translator worked.

“No, I think we're fine, thank you,” responded Chanyoung as he turned back to Dann and bowed before straightening. “Thank you again,” he added, turning back and grabbing Seobin by the arm and leading him outside.

“Welcome!” Greeted Jake as he spotted them, walking over with Jeonggeun who smiled in greeting. “I know this may be awkward to you to be here but I promise we did everything we could to make it easier on you both,” explained Jake.

“Thank you,” Chanyoung said sincerely. “Not many would try to accommodate for my brother here, it was nice of you to do that,” he explained.

“Thank you!” Shouted Seobin as he tackled Jake, Jake catching him and laughing. “Not many people want to help me,” he mumbled sadly.

“It's okay,” reassured Jake as he moved out of Seobin's grip. “We're here to have fun, so let's have fun okay?” He asked.

Seobin nodded.

Chapter 5: Jeonggeun is still learning the language, he will pick it up at his own pace.

The execution was a quick one. Kinda feel bad for the dude but then I remember what he did so…

Chapter 2: Jeonggeun wants to seem more confident and also he prefers to ignore important things such as the color of the rose on his palm.

Black has mostly negative meaning but maybe for the boys it will have a unique meaning!

Chapter 1: Jake has to be really careful as Jeonggeun can cause some trouble or a fight could break out. It is understandable that Jeonggeun is not happy, who would want someone constantly watching them? But he has no choice. His backstory makes me very curious, I wonder what happened with his brother. Why did he leave Jeonggeun ?

Jake isn’t much better, he has to make sure that he and his family won’t have to pay for their father’s debt.

So far the story seems pretty interesting. Good job, author!
