Wednesday Night, Week 16

Chorong and Bomi's Dorm.

Bomi came into the room and sprawled herself out on the floor.

"Are you okay? How was your exam?" Chorong asked, looking up from her laptop.

Bomi stared up at the ceiling with a sigh.

"Unnie…you have no idea, night classes are already terrible as it is."

She closed her eyes.

"I think I'll just sleep right here."

"Bbom-ah…you shouldn't…" Chorong said.

She got off the bed and tried to pull Bomi up from the floor.

"You have to go wash up and sleep properly."

"I don't want to…" Bomi whined.

After a bit of a struggle Chorong managed to get Bomi to sit up but Bomi promptly slumped back down on the floor.

Chorong sighed.

"If I make you some ramyeon will you please get up?"

Bomi's stomach growled and her eyes popped open.

"You'll make me food?" She asked

She quickly stood up and hugged Chorong.

"Thank you unnie~"

"Aigoo…you worked hard today." Chorong said, patting Bomi's head.

Bomi gave her a weird look.

"You've been too nice these days what's going on? Has Changsub oppa turned you into a softie?"

Chorong narrowed her eyes.

"Oh stop saying nonsense." She said.

Bomi giggled.

"Unnie don't lie we've seen you two kissing in the study rooms."

"Yah!"

Bomi dodged Chorong's attempted slap and snatched her pajamas from her bed before escaping into the bathroom.

"Don't forget my ramyeon!" Bomi yelled cheerily from inside.

Chorong shook her fist at the door and sighed.

"The nerve…as if I'm doing anything scandalous when she's the one running off at night doing who knows what in Eunkwang's car."

She shuddered and tried to shake the thought from her mind. Of course they were in college and college kids did college things but she preferred not to know about whatever they were doing alone.

"That crazy girl…"  Chorong thought to herself as she went to go heat up water for the noodles.

A few minutes later the ramyeon was done and Bomi came out of the bathroom in her pajamas. She came up behind Chorong and looked over her shoulder.

"Wahh that looks so good." She said, her lips. 

Chorong handed her the cup.

"Careful it's hot."

"Thanks unnie."

Bomi cautiously carried the ramyeon to her desk and sat down. She broke a pair of chopsticks and started to eat.

"Ooh hot!" She winced and blew out a puff of steam through her mouthful of noodles.

"I warned you to be careful." Chorong scolded as she sat down on her bed.

"I know but it's so gooood." Bomi whined.

She continued to slurp her noodles loudly.

Chorong opened her laptop and tried to resume her studying for the next exam.

"Unnie." Bomi said.

"What." Chorong replied, not looking up from her work.

"Did you hear anything from the recruiters after the play?" Bomi asked.

Chorong paused her typing.

"No…why?" She said.

"Oh nothing just wondering." Bomi said.

Chorong finally looked up from her laptop.

"Wait why?"

Bomi chewed a few more times then swallowed.

"Well…I heard from Naeun that Eunji got a call from one of them the other day."

"Eunji?"

Bomi nodded and Chorong's heart fell slightly. 

"Did she take the offer?" She asked.

Bomi shrugged.

"Apparently she told them she needed more time to think about it."

"Oh…"

Chorong looked back at her screen and tried her best to hide her disappointment.

"Of course it's Eunji…it's always Eunji…" 

Bomi stopped eating.

"Unnie I'm sorry…I was so sure you were gonna get a call too."

Chorong shook her head and kept typing.

"No it's okay, Eunji deserves it. She was the star anyways."

Bomi put down her ramyeon and came over to sit next to Chorong.

"Are you sure you're not upset?" She asked worriedly.

Chorong put on her best reassuring smile.

"Bbom-ah I'm fine, really. I'm happy for Eunji."

Bomi scrutinized Chorong carefully as if trying to figure out if she was lying but eventually she seemed to buy it.

"Okay…If you say so. I was just worried because I knew you were really hoping to get chosen." She said.

Chorong felt another pang of resentment but she held it back and smiled at Bomi.

"Your noodles are going to get swollen." She said, gesturing towards Bomi's forgotten cup of ramyeon.

"Oh, right."

Bomi got up and went to finish the rest of her food while Chorong turned her gaze back to her computer and pretended to look busy.

She was happy for Eunji, she really was, but that didn't change the fact that she was disappointed with herself for not getting a casting offer. It would've been so perfect to jumpstart her career but it seemed that the universe had different plans.
