Roaming the busy streets day and night, looking at the passing crowd when only half of them will return your glances. There is no way of telling if anyone is different.

Yet that difference is what makes them “special”. Those who are different knows that they have to hide that anomaly in order to blend in. Living in constant fear, knowing that they or their children will meet a fate worse than death if they are ever discovered, few played with the idea of fighting back.

The name coined for them is "the special ones". And though powerful, most of them are more than willing to conceal what they have than what they do not, flaunting it even became a form of taboo amongst the community.

The constant fear and suspicion of one’s neighbours is the driving force of a single crusade to annihilate those who are different.

Terms:

C0dest: A government organisation that does the “re-encoding” and studying of the DNA profile of the “special ones”.

C0dest is constantly trying to uncover the secret within the genetics that makes that particular kind special, experimenting on them as though they are less than human.

This organisation works in private and is virtually non-existent to normal people, but they are the worst nightmare and threat to the “special ones”. As much as they seem illegal, they are actually legal and are licensed to do their job.

The organisation not only eliminate “special ones” who create trouble, they also enjoy going beyond their job scope to make the “special ones” suffer.

They consist of the government body, bureaucrats and a group of scientists that own the private facilities in which they can conduct their experiments. The facilities are separated into sectors:

Sector 1: For adult experiment subjects, mainly above 21 years of age, a facility meant for “special ones” with elemental abilities such as fire, ice or electricity.

Sector 2: For adult experiment subjects, mainly 21 years of age, a facility meant for “special ones” with the telepathic abilities.

Sector 3: For ages ranging from 10 to 21. The facility is meant to for experiment subjects that are still developing their abilities, to observe how they develop and determine which sector to place them after they hit 21.

Sector 4: For experiment subjects ranging from neonates to children age 10. The facility is meant to keep the newborns of the “special ones”. The experiment subject here rarely makes it to sector 3.

Sector 5: For the dangerous type of experiment subjects. Usually consist of the high profile “special ones”, such as those with more than one special abilities.

The “Special ones”: A group of people who look like any other normal human being, except that they are gifted genetically with special abilities to do things that normal people can’t.

They are constantly under the oppression of c0dest and only few tries to fight it. Over the decades, many are captured and used as experiment subjects, this is also the main reason to why they will choose to stay off c0dest’s radar.

They come in all forms, and though majority of them are harmless, there are still a substantial number of extremists out there as well.

Their genetic makeup allows many bizarre things to happen to them and they are prone to dying young.

Anti-c0dest: A group of high profile “special ones”, led by Yunho.

Their mission stays true to their name but they are often underestimated by the c0dest's agents. They are considered the extremist and the worst kind of “special ones” to c0dest, and are often the target for capture. Promotion is an added incentives for agent who can capture a member of that gang.

Anti-c0dest is able to remain on the run and roam freely due to their shared motivation to bring down c0dest, as well as their great teamwork. They are generally well hidden to the public eye, and are not a cause of fear as they would usually function in the dead of night.

Characters:

Kim Junsu (17): Junsu had spent his entire childhood in the deep valley off the border of the city with his older brother. He have known all his life that he is different, since his deceased mother and older brother are different as well. All three are able to move things at will with a single glance, though his brother is much better at it compared to him.

He was captured at 12, and spent 5 years in the facilities, where he was experimented on and went through countless painful procedures. His only friend's death had triggered the intention to escape, since he wanted very badly to see his brother again and does not wish to die without doing so.

From c0dest:

Park Yoochun (27): A high ranking government agent under c0dest. He is more the henchman than the scientist. A seemingly cold-hearted person, usually in charge of hunting down “special ones” and getting rid of them when necessary, he is also involved in conducting experiments sometimes, but would take note not to hurt the subjects unlike his partners.

His hate for the special ones stems from the death of his grandmother, who had brought him up singlehandedly. She was fatally wounded by a “special one” during a shootout many years ago, and Yoochun have sworn revenge ever since, working hard to make it to the top of the organisation.

He was in charge of looking for experiment subject 0065(Junsu) who ran away from his facility, but ended up taking a liking to that boy instead.

Junjin (27): Yoochun’s very good friend and partner. A cold hearted man capable of immense cruelty towards the “special ones” because he hates them as well.

However, he has a particular soft spot for the younger ones, and cannot bring himself to hurt them. He plays a part in helping Yoochun and Junsu along later on.

Antagonist:

Lee Soo man (50): The chairman and founder of c0dest. He himself has a hidden ability to sniff out “special ones”, but how he is able to do that is unknown to the rest of c0dest. Also, unbeknownst to anyone but himself, he is actually a "special one", but very disgruntled and determined to destroy his own kind.

He had taken a liking in Junsu and Jaejoong’s mother previously, and murdered their father in a bid to win her over. He lusts for Jaejoong after having set his eyes on the young Jaejoong many years back. However, after failing to capture the beautiful boy with his brother as bait, he had become obsessed, and invested many years as well as a hefty sum in search for him. 

He did manage to catch Jaejoong along the course of many years, and intends to make a bride out of him. Will Yunho be able to save him in time?

Park Jung Kwang (28): A erted scientist under c0dest who enjoys making the experiment subjects suffer. He would kill them in cold blood whenever he is in a foul mood and he does not share the same stance as Yoochun and Junjin.

Anti-c0dest gang members:

Kim Jaejoong (22): Older brother of Junsu. He is a lot more powerful than most of his kind as he possess two abilities. He mastered the use of both his abilities at a very young age, and have used them to protect his brother all the while, until the younger boy's disappearance.

He continues to search relentlessly for his brother and never gave up hope, throughout a grueling five year period. Jaejoong joining Yunho's gang primarily because he was sure his brother is taken by the organisation, and didn't thik he will succeed in launching an attack alone. He aims to bring c0dest down and get his brother back with the gang's help.

He has a lot of tiffs with the leader and appears really cold and aloof to people, but he is really always the more obliging one, willing to apologise or give in first, despite being the stronger party.

Jung Yunho (25): Ran away from home at the age of 18, after realising that his parents are scared of him and wanted to turn him in to c0dest. He is able to set objects on fire at will by touching it.

He started the gang for the sole purpose of rebelling against the c0dest, since he blames them for causing him to lose everything. He shares the same hatred as Jaejoong, but is not on best term with the man.

He quarrelled a lot with Jaejoong even though he is in love with the younger man. Yunho admires Jaejoong’s character immensely and wants to try his best to help him, but is too egoistic to express it.

Shim Changmin (20): Yunho’s step brother from their mother's first marriage, shares the same ability as Yunho. He had successfully hidden his powers from his parents over the years, and joined his brother's gang after it was started. He knows his brother will be more than willing to protect him, and felt safer with the man. Changmin also knew, at a tender age, about what his parents will do to him if they found out he was the same kind as Yunho, so he no longer stays in contact with them even though he loves them. 

He is a lot calmer and more level-headed than Yunho, even becoming best friend with the icy Jaejoong. He truly understands Jaejoong's pain from losing his younger brother and tries his best to be more sensitive towards the man's feelings. He is always the middle man for Yunjae.

Choi Siwon (25): He is able to read minds and works closely with Yunho as they are good friends since their schooling days. He is also a runaway and the second-in-charge when Yunho is not around.

Kappa, they are entities reliant on one another. Will Yoosu and Yunjae be able to thrive and stay side by side?
