His eyes shot open.  He quickly sat up only to discover that he was lying on a bed and that his wound on his chest had been dressed.  He glanced around the room and realised it was his own room.  He could not remember how he had ended back here.  He tried to recall what had happened.  His eyes widened when it all came back to him.

"Sunggyu!"

When Sunggyu awoke the next morning, he was surprised to discover that breakfast was already prepared.  That revelation also surprised Dongwoo.  Furthermore, he was surprised that they had so much food stored away in such a secluded place.  He figured that Woohyun had somehow prepared them beforehand.

"Never knew you could cook," Dongwoo teased as he joined them at the dining table.

Seeing Sunggyu's bandaged arm, Woohyun took it upon himself to help Sunggyu.  He held Sunggyu's hand and guided it to the plate and then feed him.  Dongwoo ate and watched in silence.  Feeling very much like a third wheel, Dongwoo quickly finished his food and got up.

"Think I'll leave you two lovebirds alone," said Dongwoo as he headed for the door.  "Gonna go scout out this place."

Spending time with Woohyun at the cabin made Sunggyu forgot about the situation they were in.  They went for a casual stroll around the area, breathing in the fresh air and basking in the warm sunlight.  It was peaceful.  Sunggyu could only imagine how beautiful the view must be.  It was a shame that he could not witness it.

"I wouldn't mind living here for the rest of my life," said Sunggyu, though he knew that was impossible.

Woohyun looked at him with a solemn look upon his face.  "Me too," he said.  If only he could.

There was a long silence.  Despite their words deep down they both knew the harsh reality.

"The truth is," Sunggyu began.  "I can't remember anything from five years ago so it's very likely that what Myungsoo said about me is true.  That we were once friends and I betrayed them.  Not only am I a traitor but also a ruthless killer who-"

Sunggyu was silenced when Woohyun placed a hand over the older man's mouth. 

"I don't care what type of person you were in the past," said Woohyun.  "The person I fell in love with is the one standing before me now.  Do you understand?"

Sunggyu nodded in response.  Woohyun retracted his hand but was caught by surprise when Sunggyu raised his hand searching for his face.  He didn't flinch nor ask any questions.  He closed his eyes and stood still allowing Sunggyu to slowly run his hand over his lips, nose and eyes.

"If by some miracle I am able to see again, then I want to be able to recognise you," said Sunggyu with a bitter smile, knowing that the chances of that happening were slim.

"Your eyes can be cured?" Woohyun asked with interest.

"Sungyeol thinks it's possible but I would need a donor," said Sunggyu.  "Although it's been this long so I'm used to it.  Even if I can't see again, it's fine.  Perhaps this is my karma for doing so many bad things in the past."

Upon hearing Sunggyu speak ill of himself, Woohyun pulled the older man into his arms and kissed him.  Sunggyu was surprised but didn't resist.  He succumbed to Woohyun's seduction and immersed himself in the heat of the moment.

Night had fallen by the time they decided to head back to the cabin for dinner.  As they walked, Woohyun sensed that they were being followed.  The only other person in this secluded place with them was Dongwoo.  Woohyun thought that perhaps Dongwoo was nearby.  They continued on until they heard footsteps approaching closer.

From amongst the trees, a large group of armed men appeared and surrounded them.  Judging from their rough appearance and dangerous demeanor, Woohyun figured that they were mercenaries.  Woohyun let out a disappointed sigh.  He had wanted to at least be able to spend some time with Sunggyu but their peaceful days were shorter than he had hoped.  He grabbed Sunggyu's hand and pulled the older man to stand behind him.

"A blind man worth $50 million," said one of the men, while the rest cheered.  "What easy money.  Get him!"

The group of men charged at the pair.  Woohyun gripped Sunggyu's hand tight with one hand while trying to fend off their attackers with the other.  He was at a great disadvantage but he refused to let go of Sunggyu's hand.  He allowed himself to be slashed by his enemies but in return he was able to snatch a machete from their hands.

"How long can you keep this up?" one of the men asked.

"Woohyun, let go," Sunggyu pleaded, knowing very well that he was a burden holding Woohyun back.  "You have a better chance of escaping without me.  Go."

"I'm not going anywhere without you," Woohyun stated, keeping a firm grip on Sunggyu's hand.

"If you hand him over, we'll consider giving you a share of the $50 million," said one of the men after seeing Woohyun put up a stubborn fight.

Woohyun scoffed.  "As if you can claim the reward."

"Kill him!"

Their enemies attacked from all directions simultaneously.  There was no way Woohyun could block all their attacks so he chose to leave his back open while turning around to block the blades that came at Sunggyu.  Protecting Sunggyu was his priority.  He couldn't care less about himself.  Blood gushed out from the slashes on his back.  His only saving grace was that Sunggyu could not see it.

Despite not being able to see, Sunggyu could hear Woohyun's heavy breathing.  He could hear the clashing of steel.  The never ending sound told him that there were a lot of enemies.  He could not help but worry for Woohyun.

"Woohyun, please just leave me and go," Sunggyu begged but Woohyun refused to do so.

Amidst all the chaos, he heard a clanging sound of steel dropping on the ground.  He felt Woohyun's grip on his hand loosen.  He felt Woohyun stumbling back against him.  He grabbed onto Woohyun as they both fell to the ground.  He could hear Woohyun struggling to breathe.

"Woohyun," Sunggyu cried as he cradled Woohyun in his lap.

It was only then the Sunggyu felt the wetness on Woohyun's back.  The blood had soaked his shirt.  When Sunggyu reached out to touch Woohyun's chest, all he could feel were the many gashes and blood pouring out from them.  He figured that Woohyun had used his own body to protect him.

"No, Woohyun," Sunggyu cried.

"Take him," said one of the men.

No matter how much Sunggyu struggled, there was nothing he could do as two men dragged him away from Woohyun, who tried with every last bit of strength to stop them.

"Let him go," a voice demanded.
