Yeri is looking at the exact person and smiled, she knows she did something so weird just now, yet, she saved two people at the office, Kim Taeyeon and Ok Taecyeon

“Manager Kim came to me and asked about the envelope” Jisung, the old man who work at the trash section huffed

“Thanks for covering me up, Ahjussi” Yeri smiled, “I can count on you like always”

“Silly girl” Jisung smiled, “I thought you are really using it to pay your debt. How’s your grandmother?”

“I was about to” Yeri chuckled “I’m still trying to find the nursing home which had the sign language interpreter”

“I heard you just moved out”

“Yep. I found the cheaper house which I can paid regularly with my brother” Yeri replied, “Minseok Oppa said hello for you, Ahjussi”

“Tell him to come over my place too” Jisung chuckled, “Anyway, you must be careful since the atmosphere above isn’t great right now”

“I think so. Oh, I need to go back” Yeri looks at her watch, “I’ll see you soon, Ahjussi”

“I saw you” Taeyeon’s voice startled Yeri who just pressed the button to her floor. Taeyeon is standing with both of hands pocketed to her jeans

Yeri was having some files from other department to take into her own department when Yuri, the CEO and Baekhyun, the director are entering the elevator with her

Yuri smiled to the intern, the CEO is known as a cheerful woman, sometimes it reminds Yeri to Kim Taeyeon, her manager who hardly smile

After a while, Yeri feels like a phone is buzzing. She looks at her own phone, Baekhyun too, but none of their phone are buzzing

Yeri feels like something wrong and Yuri just keeps her eyes straight. The intern reached forward and takes the phone from Yuri’s pocket, an old phone is buzzing non-stop. Yeri rejected the call and put that phone on her pocket, receiving a side glare from the CEO

Yeri was a pickpocket when her Dad still alive, that’s why she could take the phone immediately. Her brother is an amateur hacker, having side job at the nearest convenience store. Both of them did the dirty job until their grandmother found out and felt betrayed. Their grandmother said to them for stopping their dirty job but their Dad found out. He kicked her own mother until the old woman collapsed but Yeri took the risk, she stabbed her own Dad until the man died on her hand

Another call snapped Yeri back to her reality after remembering her past. The same number, but Yeri feels familiar with this

She rejected the call again and texted the CEO with the old phone

Yeri put the old phone at her drawer before processing to her work. Being an intern, she does so many works such as delivering the documents to the members of department, helping about whatever it takes including makes a coffee and tea

She put the documents at Taeyeon’s table when she realized that Taeyeon left her phone charged. When she was about to leave the table, Taeyeon’s phone is ringing. Yeri peeked the screen and her wife is calling but something bothered her, the wife number is familiar for her

Yeri memorized the number and went back to her desk. She opened the drawer and takes the old phone, checking the number which called that thing so many times. She went through the messages and call logs too for assuring herself

And now Yeri knows something behind her CEO and her Manager’s wife, also who was sent the money envelope to Manager Kim Taeyeon

“Taeyeon, I really need your cooperation for this” Taecyeon pleaded. Beside him, there are Choi Sooyoung, Park Minyoung and Cho Kyuhyun, the directors of E&K. They are trying to convinced Taeyeon for joining them. Taecyeon has his suspicion to Yuri since the latter wanted to take his position. Also, next month there will be the election for the new director since Choi Siwon will be promoting as Managing Director

“What do you want from me?” Taeyeon furrowed her eyebrows. She never interested in company’s politics after all

“Because you are capable, Taeyeon-ssi” Minyoung replied, “We are not blind of your capability. Even though the CEO transferred you from architecture to safety inspector, in which it’s not your expertise”

“Also, we saw that there’s something odd between you and our CEO” Sooyoung added, “Taeyeon-ah, I know you since college and I know you can do it”

“I’m feeling grateful of the compliments, but are you sure? CEO will take me down for sure” Taeyeon hung her head down. Actually, she doesn’t even know why CEO Yuri looks allergic to her

“We will take care of it” Kyuhyun chimed in, “We have four to four votes. If we can convince Siwon, we will win for sure”

“We will stay on your back, Taeyeon” Taecyeon assured his fellow, “Also, we might play something dirty behind them”

“What’s that?”

“Well, CEO Kwon suspected to receive some money from our competitor since last year. We need to keep our eyes to her. We don’t like her policies too, she’s too subjective” said Sooyoung, “Also, since you are still manager. It will be easier for you to dig the information”

Taeyeon looked up to see those hopeful eyes, as a worker for almost 12 years, she knows sometimes she should not rely much to others because its how company politics work. But seeing the strategy behind her promotion, she sees this as a chance. 12 years and she’s still manager? It’s too long anyway

“I take this. Just told me what should I do next” Taeyeon finally replied, earning those wide smiles from the others

“We will discuss it later” Taecyeon smiled, “I will add you to the group chat and we will talk through this”
