SIDE A: ACCIDENTALLY YOURS

"Excuse me Miss Kim?" Jessica blinks her eyes the moment the words left Taeyeon's lips. "I think I've heard you wrong. You want me to make Yuri believe in love again?"

"Yes. You heard me just right dear."

"I do believe that Yuri still believes in love."

"She may be, but I think it's the bad things about love that she only believes in." She says. "Because if she still believes, maybe her songs won't be all about the broken hearted."

"I'm not so sure about this." Jessica answers worriedly. "This is Kwon Yuri after all."

"And yet, she's not the the Kwon Yuri at the same time." The brunette waits for her to further explain what she's trying to say. "Because the cold Kwon Yuri smiles a lot now, she laughs a lot and even tries to beat the energy of Kim Hyoyeon."

"The Kim Hyoyeon?" She asks in amusement and Taeyeon nods. "But who made Yuri into something so... cold?"

"Juran Kim." The CEO gives her the look. "I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the name and you now have a grasp of what kind of woman she is based on the information I gave you."

"Being a part of Yuri's past doesn't really give me the information I need but sure, let's just say you did helped a bit."

"Okay, in addition to my initial information- all I can tell is that whatever Yuri is right now is all because of Juran."

"Then she's a for being like that." Taeyeon was surprised to hear the iciness in Jessica's voice, given the fact that this girl rarely curses.

"But I'm still not losing hope Miss Jung. I know Yuri is capable to believing in it again, but I think it's more aimable with your help."

"Why are you doing this Miss Kim?"

"Because as much as I enjoy earning from her sadness and pain, she's one of the people I truly consider as my friend in this industry. Now, being her friend, there's nothing I want more than for her to be happy."

"I'm still not sure about this. If Yuri finds out, she'll be livid."

"Let's not worry the impossible Miss Jung." She smiles. "You just showed her a painting with a beautiful story and she already started to see things differently. How much more progress would we gain if you showed a little more of your world?"

 

"Yah, stop sighing you're disrespecting the food which is the one you made by the way."

 

Jessica jumps in her seat and looks at Yuri who just shakes her head and returns her focus on reading the newspaper. The tanned-girl takes a sip of her coffee which the latter made after munching a piece of her pancake and a spoonful of fresh fruits. Back in the days she would normally skip breakfast and just head down to the studio but I guess there were additional perks of having Jessica Jung as a wife. She gets to have a nice morning meal and a cup of coffee just like how she wants it.

The brunette was always persistent in making her eat before she leaves at work but her stubborn wasn't used to living with someone so she would make up excuses and tell her that she's got errands to do today. So what changed her mind?

 

"I'm heading out now."

"Hey wait up!" Jessica runs after her just as when she was about to put on her shoe. "Come and eat breakfast with me."

"Look I told you-"

"Please?" Yuri looks up and instantly regrets it the moment she saw the latter's pout. "It'll be over real quick and I won't even disturb you. Just stay for breakfast pretty please?"

Right. That happened.

 

 

"I'm sorry, there's just a lot of things going through my mind right now." The brunette answers. "Uhm, I just want you to know that today's my second check-up and I was wondering-"

"I'm full this day." She says without looking at her.

Jessica subtly deflates in her seat. "Yeah, yeah I knew that. Thought you might want to know."

"Have Sunny assist you."

"I'm pretty sure Sunny is as busy as you are so I'll have to go with Tiffany. It's been a while since I saw her too."

"Your call."

"Can I invite her here? I want to show her around if that's alright."

"I don't really care." She stands up. "Don't wait up for me tonight, I might not be going home either."

"Well in that case, let me get this boxed up so that the others-"

"Don't bother." She answers. "I'll grab some food along the way. Make sure to feed Hani before you leave."

 

And with that Jessica was once again left alone with nothing but silence in their huge house. She slumps back in her seat sighing loudly as her mind goes back and forth between her conversation with Taeyeon. She bites her lower lip in contemplation whether to accept the CEO's offer or not. After all, it wasn't just for her. It was for Yuri- and the people she loves.

 

"Tell you what, I'll give you a week to decide to also have a trial with Yuri. Within this week, you try and show your care and affection towards her and let's see how she will react."

"Oh I don't know." She says doubtfully.

"What if I told you that it's not just you who will benefit from this?" Jessica furrows her eyebrows. "I'll help you with your Miss Korea, and I'll also help Tiffany with the rent of the place in addition, I'll invest to your parents' business. Just a little amount, I'm still not sure what a million dollars will do-"

"A MILLION DOLLARS? Are you joking me right now?!"

"My grandfather always tell me to expand my knowledge in business so I'm thinking to start with tourism right. What better way to start than overseas with the help of your parents?" She smiles. "I hope to hear from you this weekend."

"Well I must say Mrs. Kwon your pregnancy is doing well. We're on the (I)slowly but surely phase. Looks like your baby does want to see the world."

"I hope he or she can tell that the feeling's mutual."

The doctor laughs. "This is one of the reasons why I like you Jessica. Normally I'd handle arrogant, freaked out and unprepared mothers but not you. You're different. Unprepared- but different nevertheless." She smiles. "Glad to see that you have some company today."

"Oh doctor, meet my bestfriend. Tiffany Hwang."

"Good day doctor, nice to meet you."

"As I am Miss Hwang." She answers. "I hope I'll be seeing you in the future."

"Let's hope it's not the near future we're talking about." The three of them chuckled.

 

The two women said farewell to the doctor and decided that it was time for Tiffany to see the house their parents had bought for them. The eye-smiling beauty immediately gasped at the moment they stopped at the gate of the mansion as she would like to call it. It had a grand entrance, high ceilings and everything was shining inside.

From the marble flooring, the chandelier and the head to foot windows everything sure did sparkled in Tiffany's eyes. Her eyes marveled at the huge kitchen and main gathering rooms and when she saw Jessica's bedroom- she couldn't help but tease the latter since it was five times the size of her usual bedroom in their cramped up apartment.

After the grand house tour, Tiffany decides to relax her feet and Jessica offered to have a girl talk while dipping their toes in the pool which the latter didn't refused. So after their orders arrived, both of them hopped onto the edge of the pool and enjoyed their afternoon snacks.

 

 

"So, what do you think of the house?"

Tiffany scoffed. "You sure you haven't had enough of my reaction?"

"It's too much is it?"

"If you were still Jessica Jung, yeah maybe I'd say that but you're Jessica Kwon now. All of this has to be normal to you."

"I'm still not used to it though."

"And I do hope that you never will." She says while taking another bite of her chicken. "So that when your child comes into the world, she will never have to feel entitled for what he or she had."

"I plan to. I don't want them to go boast around things just because they have all the possible luxuries in life. I even think that my bedroom is too extra for me."

"Did you choose everything?"

"A little here and there but not everything."

"Why? It's your bedroom is it not?"

"Yeah but Yuri saw what I was choosing and let's put that she was not pleased with my choices."

 

"What is this?"

"These are for my bedroom?"

"What?" She exclaims, an unbelievable expression written on her face. "A double sized bed?"

"Yes... Is there a problem?"

"Well of course there is! How can you settle for this small bed?"

Jessica furrows her eyebrows. "This bed is twice the size of my bed before Yuri."

"That's the problem. Why settle for having the double size when you can double it even more?" She argues. "You're having my child inside of you and I want what's the best for you both so no double bed. You're not going to be comfortable in it when you proceed with the latter months of the pregnancy. Now, we'll still take this bed, but we're gonna put this in the guest bed room. I need you to go back and choose in the queen size area."

"But the price-"

"Fine, I'm coming with you but just to make sure that you won't be able to look at the price."

 

 

"I wouldn't say that she wasn't 'pleased'. I think she was just looking out for you."

"You think so?"

Tiffany nods her head affirmatively. "I mean, you used to live in the smallest bedroom in all of Seoul. She just wanted to give you some comfort which I think is very unsual of her don't you think?"

"Why would you say so?"

"Because you said so yourself- she wasn't like that."

Jessica then thinks about it for a while. "Hmmm. You're right. She used to be so reserved and all." She nods her head. "I think it's one way to look at it."

"Did you notice a change in her attitude?"

"I've always thought of her that way so no. I didn't see a change, just that she was a little more free in opening up her feelings and past memories with me. Especially during our days in Prague." She smiles. 

"It looks like you had fun in Prague."

"It was." Her smile got wider. "It never aged... Everything was art in my eyes."

"And did you checked all of your to-do list there?"

"Not everything, but it was okay. Yuri showed me another side of Prague too. It was nice so I guess everything did turned out well." She looks at her best friend."Anyway, speaking of my bedroom, how are you holding up?"

"Unless we're talking about the rent in my place then we're doing okay."

"Tiff if you're having trouble you know you can always crash here right? You can use the double bed."

The latter giggles. "It's fine. I'm already good friends with the landlord and she understood my situation."

Jessica couldn't help but sigh. "Still, you know you can stay here. With Yuri always gone I always have the house for myself. And with you staying here, you can finally save up for your masters. It's been your dream to enter in the most prestegious university right?"

"The offer does sounds tempting but I'll take my chance." She smiles. "Don't worry about me, I'm pretty sure I can manage. All you have to do is to focus on your baby and your life now. I know all of this is just going to be temporary but you just enjoy the heck out of it."

 

Right after Tiffany stayed for a few good hours of chat, Jessica was enjoying the book that was a part of her recent huge library collection now. She tried to focus on the characters' conversation but her mind would always drift off to her talk with her best friend and then a million question would pop into her mind. She imagine Tiffany totally struggling hard with all the payments piling up and she knew that sooner or later Tiffany's body would caught up with all the stress that she's been feeling and as her best friend, she thinks it's time for her to return the favor Tiffany's family gave to her a few years ago.

Picking up their landline phone she dials Taeyeon's office number and was greeted by the pretty secretary. They shared a small talk about how their day went before Jessica tells the latter her intent of calling today. She waits for a minute for her call to be transfered. She hears some shuffling before she was greeted by a very stressed and frustrated Kim Taeyeon.

 

 

"Miss Kim is everything alright?"

"Just a little bump along the way." She clears . "I assume this call is about the talk we had a week earlier?"

"Yes it is."

"Good. I know that your deadline is tomorrow but Mrs. Kwon I hope this is a good news because I think I've had enough of stormy clouds and thunderstorms. Please be my sunshine in this forest of darkness." Jessica couldn't help but giggle. "Alas! I finally see a ray of sunshine! Oh dear- let there be more!"

"Stop." She was now laughing from the other line. "About the talk."

"I am listening."

"I think..."

"You think that what?"

"I think that-" She bites her lower lip as she trails off. "It would be wonderful if you could help Tiffany getting a scholarship with Seoul Metro University along with a good pay of part-time job. I know she'll discover that I had to do something with the rent so I think this would be more realistic."

"Fair enough. A scholarship and a good paying part-time job it is. Any condition for your parents?"

"It's your call on that one."

"Then I take it that you are now agreeing with the offer?"

"Consider this as a closed deal Miss Kim."

"Thank you."

"Speaking of Yuri." The latter sighs once again. "Is she doing something weird?"

"Other than being rude and her usual self?" She clarifies. "No, there's nothing weird about her. Is there something wrong?"

"Well the practice for today's concert is such a bummer." Taeyeon rubs her temples as she tries to figure out what's going on with her artist. "Apparently the heartbroken heartthrob can't get into her zone."

"In her zone?" Jessica connects her eyebrows together. "What zone?"

 

"You know what I am talking about. My zone."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Yuri sighs. "I'm talking about my sad zone."

"Oh. That zone."

"When I wrote this, I was so down and couldn't even lift a finger due to my sadness. My thoughts were drowning me ever since I heard about Matther
