Bang YongGuk

When HaSeul left, I lied back in my bed and groaned. " It ing hurts. "

" I think you should take this opportunity to have a shower. I'll call the nurse. "

I frowned. Being washed by people wasn't my thing. The nurse from earlier came and we stared at each other for a second. A woman washing me ? She helped me to stand up and brought me to the bathroom. She had my mom age and given her skilled movements, she had experience. As she removed my hospital gown she frowned, looking at my chest area. " Gosh the guys are not tender with you. You have scars everywhere !"

I sighed, trying not to see how embarassed of the situation I was. I hated to be seen this vulnerable. Even when people I don't know. Even if she's a nurse.  She was gentle, with my ribs broken she had to be careful not to hurt me but she washed me with delicate hands. The water was hot, the body wash smelled good. She even washed my hair. I kept them really short, shaving my head since I came here every month. She helped me to get back in my clothes.

" Your girlfriend is really nice to you right ? She stayed by your side all night. "

I appreciated how she stayed silent during the shower. But now this ? Asking me about HaSeul ? I stiffened. " It's not my girlfriend. "

" Sister ? " She asked, confused.

I shook my head and she nodded. " I guess it's complicated. "

She helped me to walk to the bed and as I groaned, making my back rest on the mattress she came to properly make my body rest on the bed.  " She is from an association that comes to visit prisoners, to fight loneliness. "

The nurse looked surprised. " Oh. But the way she looked at you I thought you were her boyfriend. But nevermind. "

She started to speak to me about my broken ribs and took care of my face, applying cream to my swollen eye and lip. After a while, she  just looked at my wrists and hesitated for a few seconds before massaging the product on my wrists. With yesterday, with my panic attack, I hurted myself with the handcuffs. We both knew what caused those marks anyways. She ended up holding my hand. "I have a son around your age. It hurts me to see you in that state. I don't know how your mother deals with it."

I sighed. "We don't talk anymore" I harshly said. She looked sad as I said that to her and my cheek. "I'm here if you need anything, okay ?" only left after making sure I was comfortable on my bed. I felt clean and the different soap felt vivid on my skin. When HaSeul came back, she talked a bit with the nurses and ran back downstairs. I almost felt like pouting. These days I felt like she was my oxygen.

HaSeul came back with a huge grin on her face, her hands behind her back. She sat next to me and shoved a cup of ice coffee in my hand.

" Gosh it's been a while I haven't drink a proper coffee. Thanks you. "

I gave her a smile and she looked at me really excited. " I took ice expresso it's fine with you ? "

I nodded. Of course it was fine with me. I looked at the large cup of coffee she got me. I drank a sip and closed my eyes. Gosh, I missed that sensation in summer. The ice coffee getting in my throat and refreshing my body. I drank my cup really fast. HaSeul drank her very slowly like she was enjoying hers a lot. " What did you take ? "

"Ah I'm not a big fan of coffee so I took bubble tea. Want to taste ? " She helped me to drink and I smiled.

" Lime Bubble Tea. " Somehow the taste of the lime fitted her so well, her  refreshing side and uniqueness. She blinked. " Not your cup of tea ? "

" No, it's really good. " I said. She drank from her cup and I realized our lips touched the same paper cup at the same place. HaSeul had plump lips, she didn't wear a lot of lipstick yet it tinted the paper cut in a lovely way. She suddenly turned her face to me and smelled the air. "It smells like body wahs, you took a shower ?"

Gosh, she noticed that smell ? I rolled my eyes. "You mean Nurse Go showered me."

She nodded, taken aback by my answer. "Oh, sorry that it happened. It musn't not be nice."

"Despite that, she was very nice to me. I couldn't do it myself. It hurts whenever I move too much."

HaSeul hand reached for my torso and she stopped herself at the last minute. "I hope you'll get better soon."

I touched my lips and tried to compose myself drinking my coffee. " Aren't you supposed to work today ? You managed to have a day off ? "

She nodded. " Only for today. I have poetry atelier tomorrow so I need to be there. "

" Poetry atelier ? "

" Yeah with the kids we read poetry and then they have to write poetry. It's always nice to do that with kids they love to create and that's not something school encourage in my opinion. " HaSeul told me. I loved each poetry book she landed me, it relaxed me when I needed it the most."

I nodded. " Would you read me some poetry then ? "

" Of course. " She opened her bag and took out two books. She opened the first one and started to read with a peaceful voice the poems. With her voice everything sounded like melted chocolate. She was such a great reader.

Choi HaSeul

I looked at YongGuk asleep and closed back the poetry book. Gosh that was really cute. He looked very peaceful sleeping and I made myself comfortable to read. He slept a major part of the afternoon, until the nurse came to see him. She woke him up and asked a few questions about his pain and ability to breath. He groaned when she touched his ribs and she finally moved.

" Did you eat yet ? I thought your friend brought you some food. "

"Yeah I did I didn't want to wake him up. "

She smiled to me in a really cute manner and left. I was confused by her behavior and shrugged. YongGuk looked at me still sleepy.

" You're hungry ? I went to my favourite restaurant and asked for a pork feet soup. It's delicious and really fill up ? "

I gave him a bowl of soup and looked at him eat with fervor. " It's really good. " I ate slowly and as he drank his soup he blushed. " Sorry it really changes from the jail meal. "

Chapter 31: What a sweet chapter! 1st off, I was shocked his momma even remotely felt comfortable to tell Yongguk anything about his life, considering her choices before his innocence was proven. But seeing how he was w/Haseul was so sweet, and I knew she would get him to go back to school. The ladies helping her were too stinking cute. I loved reading their interactions, but her & Yongguk at the end and her telling him about his confession was the best!!! Thank you for the update, look forward to more.

I’m so glad I found this story!!! I had an idea like this and wanted to write about it, but I got too lazy. I was hoping that instead of writing it , I’d find one that similar to the idea I had!!!
Now that I’m quarantined (and clearing up my assignments) I can start reading it :D

Chapter 30: Poor Haseul! Of all things, this must be torture for her. I’m glad she has Yongguk, even though she was angry & told him she didn’t want him around, he was going to be there, for when she realized she needed him to help. I’m glad she finally opened up, she’s going to have to be the one relying on him, and not the other way around. I’m looking forward to see them work through this together. Thank you for updating!

Chapter 29: Oh gosh this story is so good! I love the main characters chemistry and his sister is so sweet ~
Also hoping for Yongguk to be able to meet his parents over dinner and to have a warm and cozy chat with them (soon). Both him and Haseul are strong, caring and so compatible for each other <3
Looking forwards for more! Keep up the inspiration and hard work :)

Chapter 29: Jaekyung made my blood boil!! But, Yongju was adorable, even with that, he still was so alert to Haseul’s feelings. Especially being an only child, this would all be so new to her. Glad he finally met up with his sister, thank you for updating!

Chapter 28: I’m very proud of Yongguk!! He was able to speak from his heart & convey how he was really feeling. I was hoping he’d let Haseul join, but understood immediately that he needed to vent. Yongju was adorable & you can tell she resents her parents because thy robbed her from seeing her brother. I figured it would be natural for him to fall back with his sister. But his parents will definitely take time, 7yrs being ostracized is huge. Thankful, the dad recognizes it! I’m loving Haseul & Yongguk more and more. Not to mention how he spoke to the Aunties & Grandmas and explained his feelings & how they confide in him. It’s all very sweet, loved all the updates! Thank you
