Joohyun couldn’t stop smiling to herself as she thought back to the morning. She was still dazed until she was nudged by Seulgi who gave her a small smile.

“The welcome is over. Let’s go get our schedules Joohyun.” Seulgi said while standing up. Joohyun nodded and followed her to the tables and then followed the lines for her last name. When she finally lined up at B, Joohyun found herself being stared at everyone around her.

Most girls talked about her beauty, how pale and thin she was. Joohyun could hear all these small talks, making her cheeks blush and she could only put her head down to cover herself with her hair. One voice stood out to her though, “Why did she come into school with Minho? She probably waited outside the gym so she could meet him ugh what an attention !” A group of girls were asking while glaring at her. Joohyun peeked out from her hair and glanced at the girls beside her. Instead of hiding because she was embarrassed, she hid herself to hide herself from the horrible comments.

Sighing, Joohyun got her schedule and looked around to see if she could find Seulgi. To her disappointment, she couldn’t see her newly made friend and with another sigh, she walked out to the hallway looking for her first class: Math. Walking in, she realized she was one of the first ones in the class and realized that the seats were made in pairs. Sighing, she sat herself in the front row at the side seat, giving a smile to her teacher. As people filed in, Joohyun kept her eyes on her fingers and replayed the scene of that day’s morning continuously in her head. Suddenly, she heard the seat next to her get pulled out and saw Minho sit down.

Whispers started again, and Joohyun couldn’t help but keep thinking of what the girls had said to her. Peeking out from her curtain of hair, she realized that Minho was staring at her with a small smirk on his face.

“Hey Joohyun.” He said with his deep voice. She couldn’t help but smile at the greeting but the words thrown at her by the group of girls kept circling her head.

“Hey Minho.” Joohyun replied, looking around for any of the girls that she had seen in the group of mean girls. As she looked around, she met eyes with a smirking girl and immediately identified her as one of the girls. Joohyun winced and decided that distance would be her best form of protection and scooted further towards the window and further away from Minho. The teacher walked in with a smile on her face, introducing herself as Miss.Kim. The teacher looked around and opened to announce something.

“I haven’t made seats for this class yet but I think I might allow everyone to sit wherever they want to sit for this year.” After hearing this, Joohyun’s face wrinkled up. She needed to find a new seat partner fast if she didn’t want any weird rumours around her. On the other hand, Minho’s face lit up. He would have to thank Miss.Kim for her decision later. Miss Kim handed out a syllabus for the semester. As the teacher droned on about the rules, Joohyun found herself looking outside the window. The class was already this boring and it was only the first day. She thought of where her new friend was, whether she could adapt to this new surrounding. While Joohyun was lost in her thoughts, Minho took the time to take a really good look at her. She looked like a pearl, a gem in the ocean that was so hard to find. Looking at her dazed figure made him wonder what she was like, who she was.

The class soon finished, Joohyun still staring into space and Minho looking still looking at her. As people started to pack up, Joohyun only came to her senses when the man next to her started moving as he started to stand up. She was lost. How was class over already? Getting ready for her next class, she stood up and looked at the map, frowning when she realized it was almost across campus. Sighing, she stood up and realized Minho was looking at her expectantly.

“Did you need anything?” She asked looking up with confusion. Minho just shook his head and held out his hand, silently asking if he could see her schedule. Without much thought, Joohyun handed it over.

“We have four classes together” Minho exclaimed with fascination. How did he manage to get four classes with her? Joohyun’s jaw dropped and she wanted to smack herself for this luck. She didn’t even know if her friend had any classes and now she was stuck with a guy who was the cause of rumours spreading. Great.

“Well, I’ll see you later,” Minho said with a small smirk. Joohyun nodded, and hurried off to her next class; English. As she walked in, she couldn’t stop the smile spreading from her face. Seulgi was in her class. Joohyun walked to the seat next to Seulgi and sat down.

“I can’t believe I have a class with you! I’m so excited.” Seulgi said once she noticed who was next to her. Joohyun nodded in agreement. A bunch of people walked in and the teacher walked in only a few minutes later. Another syllabus was passed out and Joohyun decided it was a good time to start zoning out. Once again, the bell rang and woke Joohyun from her stupor. Seulgi nudged her with her phone, asking for her number. She gladly punched in her number, and they both walked out of the class talking about what classes they had together. They realized with happiness that they shared the next class; dance.

“Dang, we have three classes together!” Joohyun grinned at Seulgi, who returned the grin wholeheartedly. Seulgi and Joohyun were excited to go to dance, something they both enjoyed doing. As they talked, the boys in the hallway all turned to look at them in fascination. How did the two prettiest girls end up becoming friends? The girls looked in jealousy as they realized all the guy’s eyes were on the two, and a certain group of girls looked on in disdain.
