Water is everywhere, I've noticed. The very Earth we live and prosper on is made of it. The non-supernatural people need it to survive. We cry water. I've read in some book that humans are made of 70 percent water. I am born out of it. Don't get me wrong - it's my life. But its like when you have too much of one thing, however good it is, you get sick of it. And that's what is happening with me lately. I just want to escape from this lake and do something for a change.

Dang. All this solitude has made me think too hard. And God knows how lazy I am.

"Yah, you're talking to yourself again." A male voiced called out. I turned around to meet the eyes of my cousin Arbeol. He was lounging around in his little oak tree, looking relaxed and peaceful. Tch, this oppa. He seems like a quiet and collected guy, but just wait until he reveals his evil prankster side. I will never ever forget the time when he dropped a water snake into my bag and gave me a heart attack. I was literally this close to dying, really!

"Babo. For your information, it's called organizing your thoughts orally. Which you don't seem to have much of Arbeol oppa." I smiled cheesily at him and stuck out my tongue.

He was about to shoot another joking insult at me when suddenly his beloved tree started to emit some smoke. And then a little fire started at the bottom which threatened to grow into huge flames. Arbeol's eyes widened until he resembled a bug and he leaped out of his perch, desperately trying to fan it away.

I chuckled to myself. Just a regular morning if you ask me. I turned around and glimpsed my other cousin Injun snickering his off. He walked up and whispered in my ear, "And that's payback for him setting me up on a blind date with a troll-girl. Now put it out, we wouldn't want him to lose his beloved tree."

Amused, I stood up and willed some water from the lake to douse the little fire. Arbeol heaved a huge sigh of relief and plopped down at the base of the tree, pouting like no tomorrow. Have I mentioned how much I love my family?

It was around dusk, when the sun was just hanging over the horizon and the entire landscape was cast with a smokey orange hue. Overhead, the bright moon and the scintillating stars were coming into view.

I was chatting with my other cousin, Sora, about girl stuff. Sora was talking animatedly about something that I wasn't really paying attention to. My thoughts were on a book that I had managed to stumble over the other day. I did literally stumble over it, meaning I tripped over it in the house. Clumsy me, oh well.

At first, it didn't seem like anything special until I skimmed over a passage about undines. The book stated that when an undine finds a lover that she shares a pure bond with, that undine is granted a soul. An actual soul, believe it or not.

My thoughts were interrupted when someone placed a hand on my shoulder. I spun around to see my mother smiling warmly at me. She pressed something into my hand. "For you, darling. I have to go, but I just want to let you know that I'm so proud of you." With that, she kissed my forehead and disappeared off into the night.

Weird. I glanced at the letter, but it wasn't opened. I dismissed my mother's words - she was always being strange and prophet-like. I tore off the gleaming red seal and glanced over the paper inside.

Warm welcomes from Star Empire Academy! We have received your application, sent by fairy-carrier, and we have reviewed it very thoroughly. And we are very proud to inform you that you have been chosen to be a student in the new school year. We extend our sincere congratulations to you and your family both.

Every creatures of every shape and size has shown interest in coming to our school, and you are one of the special students.
