CHAPTER 9: Encounter

This morning Seoul feels quite different. Bright blue sky. Warm sun. And the yellow leaves on the tree offer a beauty that for several days Seongwoo didn’t realized.

Today he is very excited. There was a glimmer of hope to find his brother. Seongwoo is a fairly positive person when facing problems. He believes God and the universe will help him find Euigeon.

The morning at New East Tour & Travel financial office begins with an internal team finance meeting. Chief Kim invited Seongwoo to present the work he had discussed with Manager Hwang regarding financial strategy to minimize corporate spending.

Chief Kim is very impressed with his and Manager Hwang’s work. He believes CEO Han Sungsoo will also be impressed with their strategy, and appreciate them by giving bonuses. The faces of the financial team personnel looked happy. Chief Kim is always known to be very good at giving motivation to work.

After finishing the company's report, Chief Kim closed the internal meeting. Minki and Minhyun had stood up as they packed the files in front of them before getting out of the conference room. But Seongwoo approached Chief Kim and asked, "Chief, may I have your time for a moment?"

"Yes. What do you want to talk, Sean?" Kim Chief replied kindly.

"Mmm .. Do you know how to find person in a short time?" Seongwoo asked quietly, but loud enough to be heard by two other coworkers.

Minki and Minhyun immediately put back the files that should be ready to be taken out of the conference room and looked at Seongwoo. "Sean, don’t just ask Chief Kim, you should also talk to us about it." Minki protested which later added with a nod from Minhyun.

Seongwoo laughed shyly before finally saying, "Well, okay, do you know how to find person in a short time?"

Minhyun and Minki were already sitting back in their seats. That made Seongwoo do the same.

"Just a minute, before we discuss it, you'd better tell me who you want to look for." Said Minhyun started the 'second part meeting' of the finance team.

Seongwoo also recounted that he was looking for his separate brother for fourteen years, who now lives with his biological mother.

"His mother’s name is Kim Soojung, lived in Itaewon, only that information that I know .." Seongwoo ended with a grin because the information is very minimal to serve as the basis of the search.

And as expected, all his colleagues took a deep breath at what Seongwoo said.

"If that's all you know, it's hard, Sean." Comments are instantly spoken from Minki.

"True. Just imagine how many names Kim Soojung is in Itaewon? Itaewon is vast."

Chief Kim's question directly responded by Minhyun. "That's if she still lives in Itaewon, Chief, but they've been fourteen years apart, they're probably moving out."

Seongwoo could only smile guiltily, he really didn’t want them to go dizzy over the problem, but didn’t they offer to help him yesterday?

“We should focus on how we use that minimal information to get optimal results. " Said Chief Kim pulled back the focus of his team-mates. "We have to figure out what steps we can take with that information."

"Can we get police help?" asked Minhyun.

Chief Kim thought for a moment. "Mmm, it could be .. but I'm not sure they'll help much." Chief Kim said hesitantly before then explaining the reason. "Because this is not a case of missing. Remember, Sean’s brother is following his mother."

Chief Kim's explanation made his team members take a deep breath again.

But Minhyun gave his idea again. "Why don’t we ask Itaewon police to get that information in their database? It must be easier, right?"

Chief Kim nodded, indicating his approval for Minhyun's advice. But what comes out of his lips is an argument, "Yeah, that's rig
