I think I'm going to die alone. I thought quietly as I looked at myself in the mirror. Everything about my appearance doesn't satisfy me. My appearance also didn't satisfy any of my ex-boyfriends. I sighed as I remember their pathetic reasons to dump me.
You're not attractive enough. You're a bit on the chubby side. Being with you is embarrassing.
If being with me was so embarrassing then why date me? If I wasn't attractive enough then why did they bother dating me? I don't understand!
"Hey _____, food is ready." my roommate: Woori, opened the door, peeking through the crack.
"Woori? Can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead, shoot."
"Do you think I'll die alone?"
"What?? Of course not!" She said firmly.
"Why do you think that?" I asked her and I looked at her.
She mumbled with a conflicted voice, "Well... From my disability to hear, I think I might end up living with you forever. Anyways, why do you think that you're going to die alone?"
"Cause I'm unattractive. I haven't been in a relationship foreverrr. It's certain I'm going to die alone."
"Well you're not. You're hot too, it's just that your dumb exes never realized that." She said with a hug.
I sighed in her hug, "Woori, even I admit I'm not the attractive. I'm not decent looking either."
"Do you want to change how you look? Is that what you're trying to say?"
"...Maybe." I mumbled, ashamed that I want to change my appearance.
"You can wear makeup, but I don't think you need to change anything. I like you're bare face." She said with a grin. But I don't like how I look.
"Aghh, I should've learned makeup when I was young!" I cried out while fake sobbing. I'm too lazy to learn makeup at this age. And I think makeup is a bit too complicated.
"_____, look, if you want to be in a relationship the first thing you need to learn how to do is-"
"Makeup." I cut her off.
"No, not makeup. You have to learn how to love yourself. Your boyfriend isn't a tool to always compliment how you look! You have to know that you're the hot stuff!"
"Alright, alright," I said while mumbling, "I'll meet you in a bit after I make my bed."
She nodded and left, while I was on my phone deleting tabs from my web browser. I raised my eyebrows at one of the tabs that I had saved: Find your significant other next month at this matchmaking event!
