CHAPTER 12: Disappointed

Still in class 2B, discussing about School Festival

"Now let’s move to vocal competition." Sungwoon changed the topic of the discussion. "Is there any of you who want to take it?"

"Kenta Kenta!" Kenta said his own name loudly.

But Sungwoon scoffed. "It's not a competition for elementary school kid."

"Ya, Hyung you underestimate me.." Kenta protested.

It got laughed by Sungwoon and all the students, except Hanna.

She was nervous. She really wanted to say her name to be the representative for vocal competition, but she was afraid her friends didn't like it. When she was struggling over her lack of confidence, Minki spoke on her behalf.

He raised his hand as he said, "Kwak Hanna!"

Surprised by Minki's action, Hanna turned to face him. "Yaa."

She was nervous yet relieved that someone has voiced out her feeling. She thanked Minki in her heart for understanding her.

And Minki's idea was welcomed with a smile from Sungwoon. "Of course our choir girl, Hanna."

But another name came out. "Im Youngmin!"

Youngmin turned his body to face Shiyoon. "Yaa, why'd you keep mentioning my name?"

"I want to see you on stage. Don't you know that you're really cool when you're on stage?" Shiyoon told Youngmin as she acted cutely.

Responded to that, Youngmin could only cover his face, feeling the second embarrassment.

Sungwoon then said, "Okay, okay.. Why don't we ask them to perform in front?" He pointed on Hanna and said, "Hanna, you first."

She got up from her seat and went front. She looked around and found that her friends were focusing on her.  Even only sing in front of her classmates, but she still feel that it was like a competition, so she couldn't help but to feel nervous. "Mmm okay, I want to sing a song from Alicia Keys - if I ain't got you."

Hanna took a deep breath before starting,

Some people live for the fortune

"Oooh.." Few of her friends reacted as soon as Hanna started the song.

Some people live just for the fame

Namjoo, Daehwi and Minki started to wave their hands following the melody of the song.

Some people think that the physical things

“This is it..” Sungwoon anticipated how Hanna’s beautiful voice wrapped the refrain.

"Wooo.. " Namjoo and Daehwi clapped loudly and followed by few of the students to appreciate Hanna's beautiful voice as Hanna went back to her seat.

"Of course the voice from our choir girl." Sungwoon also praised her as he clapped his hands and smiled at her.

Then he continued the selection with calling out the next candidate. "Okay next, Im Youngmin, come out."

Youngmin hesitantly got up from his seat and went front. "You know that I can't sing, so I will rap instead."

"It's okay!!!" Shiyoon, the ultimate Youngmin's fan directly respond.

Youngmin ignored her and continued to say, "But I need someone to do the beat box."

"Me! Me!" Another enthusiast kid raised his hand up.

"Okay, come here." Youngmin called Kenta.

Then Youngmin whispered the song he wanted to sing, and Kenta nodded firmly.

Kenta started to beat box.

Youngmin took a board eraser and made it like a microphone, he started to sing One of a kind by G-dragon

He ended it with a cool pose with Kenta.

"Aaaaahhh Im Youngmin, saranghaeee!" Shiyoon went crazy with only seeing that performance.

The boys were also clapping loudly, appreciating the cool performance Youngmin and Kenta presented.

Sungwoon went front again and tried to calm his friends. "Yaa yaaa stop stop.. Shiyoon ah sit down!" He continued, "So those are the performances from our vocal competition candidates. Who's your choice?"

"Youngmin!" Shiyoon directly raised up her hands.

Sungwoon rolled his eyes, annoyed by his particular friend.

Seohyeung gave opinion, "Hanna's voice is really soothing. But don't we need something more powerful. Something that can catch the audience's attention? Surely, Youngmin's performance gives bigger impact."

"Yes, I agree!" Shiyoon supported.

Woozi also gave his opinion, "Moreover he chose the perfect song. As our class theme is Korean Halyu wave, we CAN NOT not to talk about GDragon!"

"Woah, that's right!" Sanggyun clapped his hands excitedly. "It fits our concept perfectly."

Kenta didn't want to lose. "I can do the beat box for him!"

Sungwoon threw a smirk to Kenta before saying, "Okay, so you're all agree that Youngmin--"

"And me!" Kenta cut Sungwoon's words and grinned.

Sungwoon sighed before continuing, "-- and Kenta to be our representative for vocal competition?"

"Yeaaah!" The students answered in harmony.

Youngmin distracted it with saying, "But it's vocal competition, don't you think Hanna--"

Shiyoon cut his words. "That's okay. Rapping is part of vocal. Moreover our concept is breaking the rules. Just like we chose Minki to be our class' Queen."

Youngmin heaved a sigh before turning his body to face Hanna. "Is it okay for you?"

Hanna acted cool while answering, "Okay.."

"Then for vocal competition, our representatives are Youngmin and Kenta!" Sungwoon knocked the table as a sign that it was fixed. He continued, "Let's move to dance competition.."
