Soojung’s POV

She didn’t wait until they were gone. After hugging and bidding Jimin goodbye she went into the house immediately. She smiled when she remembered what Jimin said to her. “Call us what you used to do. We’re not your sunbae.” She was really grateful that the others were starting to warm up to her. No, more than that, they seemed like they had forgotten everything and forgave her. She’d like to think like that even though they never had to forgive her for anything. When she first saw them after taking the napkins, she was flustered. She was nervous thinking of how they would accept her after all this years. Turns out it’s better than she imagined. Except for Jungkook.

She had to admit that the whole celebration would be splendid if Jungkook wasn’t staring at her the whole time. Back then, she would be smitten but now it only makes her feel uncomfortable. She felt like her every move was monitored by him. Why did he even agreed to come. She was desperately clinging on the hope that he would reject the idea of attending the celebration but then there he was sitting in front of her during the feast. She swore her food felt like it won’t digest with him gazing at her every other time. He was looking at her as if he was scrutinizing her presence. As if she wasn’t supposed to be there.

She entered her room first with the intention of changing into more comfortable clothes. They still need to clean the garden after this. She was desperately trying to pull the dress zipper down but to no avail. Gosh, Yejin unnie was the one who helped her put this dress on. Damn the zipper. “Need help?” She was surprised to see Jungkook leaning on her door. Wasn’t they supposed to be leaving? She quickly move to the window and peeked to see that the other cars had left except for one. Haeri and Yejin unnie were folding the table clothing in the garden. She can feel her heartbeat increasing rapidly. What was he doing here? Turning around, she found the door locked and they were alone in the room. She looked at him with a frown on her face wondering why he locked the door. “No thanks. I’ll manage. Aren’t you supposed to be leaving?” She passed by him in an attempt to unlock the door and escaped. But then, who did she think Jungkook was? He beat her to the door first giving her nowhere to escape.

She stepped back preventing her face from hitting his chest. She looked at him quite annoyed. “You haven’t give me a hug yet.” The frown on her face became more evident at his statement. “Excuse me?” She was dumbfounded. Was he really hoping for a hug from her or was he mocking her? She pushed him away trying to unlock the door before he snatched the key away grabbing her arm and throwing her to the cushion by the window. Quickly trapping her with his arms, she find herself defenseless. “Look. They are happy right?” She looked down to the garden where Haeri and Yejin unnie were playing with the cake they weren’t able to finish with the kids. She couldn’t quite understand him but Jungkook was a straightforward person to start with. “Eunseo could be somewhere living pathetically while you’re here living life to the fullest with your new family.”

Her tears were threatening to fall. No, she wouldn’t break down in front of him. “Jungkook, it wasn’t me. I swear.” She could feel his uneven breath tickling her ear and she was starting to tremble. She gasped when she felt him grabbing her chin and forcefully making her face him. “You ruined me.” If only he knows the real truth. “That’s because I love you.” He smirked at her mockingly. As if her confession doesn’t have any credibility to him. It doesn’t makes sense to him. “If you really does, you wouldn’t have left.” If the circumstances at that time was different, she swore she would never leave him. “I didn’t want to leave. I was forced to.” She saw it his eyes, he was deliberating. For once, she saw the warmth he once had. She really hoped that he can get over everything because if he allows her, she would like to make it up to him.But in a split second, his eyes were as cold as ice and he looked at her with hatred. “Excuses didn’t exist for nothing. So you should know that no one else can fill the void in me except her.”

That’s when her tears fell. She knows that she can never replace Eunseo. She knows he loved Eunseo with all his heart. “Who said you can cry?” She shakes her head violently and tried to push his hands away from her chin. She felt weak and the only thing she didn’t want him to see her as was a weak person. Once she managed to push him away she headed for the door with tears blurring her vision. She didn’t even managed to reach the door when she was pushed to the mattress. Finding herself alone with Jungkook, she was scared. Seeing Jungkook approaching her on the bed, she scooted away from him fearing what he will do to her. He had done it before, he could do it again if he wants. “Jungkook, please don’t.” She was literally begging him to stop. But it didn’t seem like she had any hope when he pulled her leg down and putting his weight on her.

Desperately trying to push Jungkook, she was about to scream as a final resolve. She was however more than relieved to hear knocking on the door. “Soojung, do you need any help with the dress?” She didn’t how to reply but she managed to get away from Jungkook and run to the door. Soon she can hear the dangling keys and the door clicks. Bless Yejin unnie.

Jungkook’s POV

As soon as the door opens, Soojung hugged Yejin noona and he was suddenly hit with realization of what he was trying to do. What more in someone else house. He wasn’t thought to behave like this by his parents. His real intention to meet Soojung was once again clouded by his emotions. He thought that he would like to ask Soojung about the truth. The real truth. She said she didn’t do it. He wanted to believe her but another part of his brain was shouting another. And clearly the other side wins. However, there was something odd. When he approached her on the bed, he wasn’t thinking about Eunseo at all. Now he was confused. Was he actually trying to get justice for Eunseo or was he just craving for Soojung’s touch? He could not have any more feelings for Soojung after all this years. Or can he?

He get up from the bed and straighten his clothes. He was hesitating to meet Yejin noona’s eyes. “I’m sorry Yej
