Hyemi
Her Bodyguard
A/N: The end of this chapter hints at extreme violence.
Taeyong's POV
She was gone. Hyemi...was gone. My only job was to protect her and I had failed. In a red rage I looked around for her fiancee. He was brushing dust off his jacket. There wasn't a single wound on him.
I stormed in his direction. Before anyone saw it coming my fist connected with his jaw. He fell to the ground in a heap, blood spilling from his lips.
His brothers quickly grabbed me. I wasn't going to hit him again, I just wanted to make my presence known. They didn't ignore me now. "What the hell happened?" I growled.
Jin spit the blood out. "Someone tipped him off."
"That's your excuse? Hyemi is gone! Aren't you even concerned?"
"Of course I am!" He glanced around at the people watching. "This isn't the time or the place. I've got to get a handle on the situation here first."
I pulled free. It took ever fiber of my being not to punch him again. "Then handle it. I'm going after my Hyemi."
His expression darkened and I realized my mistake. He saw more than loyalty in my eyes. This wasn't just a person I guarded. She was my person. She was everything to me.
"Take Hoseok with you. He's good at finding people." One of the brothers walked towards me. He looked like a joke. But I would be a fool to turn down help.
"Let's go."
End POV
Taeyong.
I was groggy. My hands and feet were tied. Mouth gagged. The room I was in was clean. Like, really clean. It looked like no one lived here. There were no decorations, no furniture. Other than the chair I was on and a desk in the corner.
"Finally." The man from the party circled me. "Who is it this time?"
This time? Had they kidnapped others before?
"Little Hyemi." He chuckled. "The mobster princess." I would have asked who he was if I wasn't gagged. He eyed my face and smirked. "Don't glare at me sweetie. I can't have you biting me again." He flashed his bandaged hand.
When did I? I thought back but couldn't remember anything after being knocked out at the party. I remembered Taeyong calling out my name. Was he okay? If they hurt him-
"Calm your eyes, sweetheart." He was laughing at my turmoil. "As far as I know your fiancee is okay. He wasn't the one we were after." He kneeled in front of me. "In fact, we've been after you for awhile. So much planning had gone into that night. I'm amazed it went as smoothly as it did."
Why would they be after me? I wasn't anything special.
"You look so confused." He laughed. "I suppose I can explain." He pulled up a chair. "First, my name is Sihyuk. Bang Sihyuk." My eyes widened he was- "I'm the man wrongfully accused of having an affair with your father's wife. But let me be the first to say, that's not the true story. At least, not all of it." He stood and started walking around.
"A lot has to do with you. Tell me, what has your father said about your sickness? Oh, right." He reached forward and removed the gag. I spit in his face immediately. A laugh left him.
"You're a lot tougher than you used to be. I still remember the little girl who cowered at everything." He searched my eyes. "Just how much of Hyemi is left, I wonder?"
"What are you talking?" My throat was scratchy and it hurt to speak.
"Figures that your father wouldn't tell you. There's so many secrets in that house you live in. Even that bodyguard of yours is keeping things from you."
I shook my head. "He wouldn't."
"If your father says sing, he'll sing. If your father tells him to kill, he kills. That bodyguard is
